You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for your dream worlds, as well as detailing your efforts to free one another. Whether they're on Ziziphus or Ensō at the time of the dreams' capture, your character is free to access as many dreams as you like, as the interlocking mental landscape allows for that sort of crossing over apropos of nothing. And time, of course, is very fluid in dreams - many days, months, and years can transpire in a matter of mere minutes.

Will you fight your way free from Ziziphus's vines or Mu's thrall, or are you content to die in your sleep?

Goro Akechi | Persona 5 Spoilers

[ Tokyo, Japan is a bustling city, and Goro Akechi is a normal, healthy, well-adjusted teenager. That's probably the first clue that something is wrong, but it's fine. He doesn't really seem that different from reality; he greets his peers and others with a polite smile. This time, though, it's genuine, and he laughs more easily.

At Shujin Academy, Goro is the president of the student council, and he's well-respected by his peers. He's top of the class, well-known, and the star of the track team. He treats others with the same respect he receives, and he's charming besides. He also offers tutoring here and there... Maybe you need a bit of help?

Outside of school, Goro spends his time working at Leblanc Cafe. He makes a pretty mean cup of coffee, and he's good for excellent discussion. The cat who hangs out around the cafe, Morgana, is also pretty friendly. His Very Good Friend, Akira, comes and hangs out sometimes. Why is he there, if he never got arrested? It's fine, don't worry about it.

And, of course, his father is a well-regarded politician, but his features are... indistinguishable. Odd, that, when he's so popular. Hm. Regardless, Goro can be found at special functions, ready with a smile and to humor with a bit of talking. ]

[ You better believe she's still gonna spend a good chunk of her afternoons around LeBlanc in an ideal world. Now that she was more comfortable walking herself home from Shujin, she tended to stop by a lot. Hell there were even days when she just hung out there until Mom wrapped up for the day.

So she's quite at her ease as she pushes the door open, not content to just let the bell announce her presence. ]

I hungerrrrr! Wait wh-?

[ For a moment there's a feeling of disconnect, almost like splitting in two. Part of her is confused and even concerned to see Goro Akechi there behind the counter in the LeBlanc uniform, not Sojiro or Akira. The other doesn't even bat an eye. It lasts for only a split second, so briefly she almost could have imagined it, and then she snaps back into place. For a second she blinks, then she walks over to the counter and slides into a seat, trying to brush past the awkward moment. ]

[In the kingdom of Lucis, there was no city greater than...Insomnia? Well, it was certainly called Insomnia, even if it tended far more towards magitek than anything modern which may have been associated with the name. The occasional airship flew by high overhead, between the massive buildings that reached through the clouds--and the tallest of them was the grand Citadel, in which lived the king and his court. Shield, advisor, general positions of power and even some higher-ranked soldiers, most of the time any of them could be found in or around the seat of the city's power.]

[But finding the king himself? That was a trickier thing to do. Oh, he could certainly be found near the Citadel at times, perhaps half hanging out of the open engine of an airship he was working on with a pile of scrap metal and broken parts tossed to the ground next to him. Or just sneaking out to postpone the more boring side of working on political correspondence for an hour or two. A little irresponsible, perhaps, but the world wouldn't come crashing down around them if he put things off for just a bit.]

[Most often the young man in black with the silver circlet half-hidden by wild red hair (and it was no doubt red instead of violet) could be found simply walking the city streets as any other Lucian, greeting his subjects with a gentle smile. Occasionally one would approach him with uncertainty, bowing and stammering in a nervously respectful manner about some kind of injury or another. Ardyn's hazel (certainly not yellow, because what kind of human had yellow eyes) eyes would soften with a gentle smile as he discarded any thought of formality and took their hand. Saying something to the effect of oh, well we can't have that, can we, such pains or bandaged wounds would be gone in the warm glow of a golden light from his touch.]

[Life in the capital was busy and ruled by perhaps an unconventional king, but ultimately...it was a good life to have.]

[It's not hard to find him, not if you know where to look. Follow the sound of humming, the trail of damaged parts to the hangar that was specifically off limits because he didn't trust any of the rookies on the machine. Gladio stopped in the doorway for a moment, shaking his head, dismissing the poor, shaken young man that was certain he was going to get reprimanded for being lax in his guard.

Same old, same old. How many years has he spent trying to kick his king out of the airfield?

He pushes off the door frame, boot falls echoing off the metal walls, giving plenty of warning of his approach. Another echoing sound, this one a soft rumbling clang as he raps his knuckles against the hull of the beast, trying to get the king's attention.]

Y'know, majesty, [Sarcastic, not disrespectful so much as just familiar from so many years working alongside the royal family.] one of these days I'm going to stop lying when your precious advisor starts asking questions.

[ In the kingdom of Cosia, there sits a capital in the middle of a dense forest. The walls are impenetrable, but people come and go freely; wealth is distributed fairly, and there's little conflict. An era of peace has settled quietly and contently over the entire kingdom, and even the smallest villages flourish. It's a happy kingdom, led by a kind queen. Her advisers, Leona and Eugene, enjoy a comfortable life with their daughter, Mira.

She's treated very much like royalty herself, but Mira doesn't look down on anyone. In fact, she often makes deliveries to smaller villages, and she makes sure she has enough goodies (candies, of course, and other baked goods) for the children. While she's a gifted mage, she has little use for healing, but she can be found putting on shows of impressive magic. Fire, ice, earth--her favorite trick is to surround a flame in nevermelting ice. The kids love this one especially, and they cry out happily when Mira does it for them.

She also sometimes runs personal errands for the queen, to figures of importance or just because she's offered. And sometimes, she goes into the forest, bow and arrows at her back, and she spends days hunting and gathering. It's not especially necessary... but it's nice. It's a content life, and Mira is happy to be living it. ]

[Well, Ren's having a great time on Ensō 2.0. A wonderful, incredible place, whose sprawling island landscape is covered in stray cats of all colors, sizes and temperaments. Every two steps? There's a cat demanding attention, rolling on huge beds of flowers that litter the area or napping under one of the trees. But really, she's simple, and the whole thing is reminiscent of the island they're all currently stuck on, save for all the dangers. No monsters, no weird plants or crazy vines-it's great.

And Ren, living her best life, can be found at Camp Base, with the same tents, people, pets and faces she's come to adore. There's a cat bed for Ichimatsu, another small bed for her favorite antlered bunny, wherever they are. If she's not poking around, sorting through her trash, you might find her practicing a bit of magic-yeah, she could always do that? Totally. Every so often, there's the sound of a giggle and a tiny sparkler-esque explosion occurring between her hands. Pretty, pretty stars. In fact, she's probably doing this all over the island, as she makes door to door visits to her non!tent family.

Otherwise, she can be found playing baseball at the playing field outside of the Storyteller's Temple, whose front yard now houses a large school. That's normal and fine. She looks happy and eagerly waves a baseball bat in the air whenever a passerby comes near to get their attention and to harass them to come play with her. They do need a team. Don't let her down, random bean.

Guess what she did this morning? She cooked. Because she does that, apparently. Another day, another spicy egg and Ren's here to share with the earth. Outside the baseball field, she's taking a quick snack break to freaking heat up a little bowl with leftover egg inside. How's she heating it up, one might ask? With her sparkler magic power. One hand directly under, the little sparks heat the bowl and, ta-da! Incredible! Anyone who walks by now will be forced into sharing this delicious scrambled concoction with her because she'll immediately amble over to the party in question with the bowl held out. Don't worry, it's fine. The health code doesn't matter and she'd get a solid C anyway. That's passing.]

[Timothy Wright drives to and from work, and on the way back from work, he stops at a garage sale and makes a hell of a discovery. He nearly trips over the doorstep in his haste when he pulls up outside the house and shoulders a brand new fucking banjo, used and discount price, as he jimmies the key in the lock and pushes the door open.]

[He's home.]

["Home" is somewhere indistinct, caught between rural and urban Alabama. "Home" is a house devoid of memories: an attic that Alex Kralie never descended from, a kitchen island that Jay was never half-slumped against, a rug that was never soaked in gasoline. Maybe you live there; maybe he grins when he enters the same room as you. Sometimes the phone rings, and he talks to his mom without any of the resentment one would smooth over an embittered family history. When he takes his meds, he takes them easily, and without fuss.]

[In this universe, Timothy Wright still doesn't and cannot drink, nor does he have any inclination to. But he has friends, and he goes out for drinks in a secluded corner of some dive bar that stinks of cheap faux leather booths and has some droning, horrible country-styled song blaring tinnily in the background. He has friends who don't mind if he drinks Pepsi instead of tequila shots, friends who scope out ideal venues that host open-mic nights that shouldn't exist in this part of the state, but do nonetheless. He has friends who can land paying gigs for a truly unremarkable garage-quality band.]

[Baseball practice ran late and she had to bust a tail to get to the concert on time. It had been on her calendar for days and days and their hellion of a coach decided, naturally, it must be today they practice until dusk. Any other time she'd be on board, but she's got places to be!! She's a busy gremlin!!

It's not a huge crowd she has to fight through to get to the front, weaving between the patrons on the floor and using her bag as some kind of adult buffer to make the openings larger for her to sneak through. It doesn't take long for her to reach her goal and-

They're already playing-singing the words to her favorite song that she eagerly mouths along, no matter how breathless she is from the run over here.

Keith Kogane

[A blue planet swells in the screens from the bridge of the Castle of Lions, a large spaceship. A warm hand will land on your shoulder and Keith, a little older with a scar just under one eye smiles. He's friendly and calm, remarking about New Altea and how nice it will be to get home again.

You might recognize a slightly older Lance making a remark or two of his own. They tease one another but, it sounds more like friendly ribbing than being mean to one another. Three others sit on the bridge saying nothing. Keith and Lance both respond to Princess Allura, Hunk, and Pidge as if they've said something.

Or maybe you woke in a field of green grass outside a spiraling city made of blue crystal and white stone-like metal. Sweeping designs seem to flow into one another making the city a unified whole. Keith can be seen in the distance talking to Shiro, they seem to be in deep discussion judging from the way they lean close to one another, a hand on a shoulder while they keep their voices low.

Sometimes Keith can be found asleep under a tree as the clear water outside the palace at the heart of the city looms in the distance. He wakes up when approached and will inquire what someone needs with only a little bit of annoyance. It was a good nap!

But this dream isn't always peaceful. After all, peace must be defended. If you explore the castle, which incidentally is exactly the same as the Castle of Lions ship, you'll find yourself back on the bridge where the team are all assembled before a glowing holographic map. Missions with dates and times that don't seem to be clear and if you're looking at the right time spell out 's o s' are marked on the map.

Shiro and Keith stand side by side, giving the details of the new mission to the team. People look to the later as much as the former, and when meetings break up they walk away together as a team with Keith in the middle of them all.]

[Ginko's stops by New Altea aren't exactly frequent, but they're pretty regular; he'll come by every few months, with cargo and stories alike, and each time Keith is one of the people he makes sure to find while he's there, even just to sit and chat for a few minutes.]

[The weather is beautiful.]

[It's always beautiful, in Central. The Drifter walks easily, their pace unhampered by any fluid clogging their lungs or any chronic pain knotted up in the pits of their nerves. No one scatters when they draw near; the lizards and otters and birds wave with cheerful chirps and croaks in greeting as the Drifter passes. They stop by a vendor, trading a single glowing golden gearbit for several slices of sizzling pink meat, still steaming in their paper wrapping. A skull-faced individual plucks strings on a guitar. A dog scampers through the center of town, yapping delightedly as it sends a flock of dark-winged butterflies scattering. The Drifter stops beside a stone pool of pale turquoise water and regards the features that stare back at them: dark eyes, deep cobalt skin offset by the scarlet of their mantle and the gray of their helm.]

[For once, they do not hate what they see. The strangeness of a drifter's traditional apparel does not trouble them, even if their stationary nature makes them, by definition, anything but a drifter. The discrepancy does not tug at them as it should.]

[When the Drifter is not inside, they're out in the soccer field, knocking the ball from goal to goal in the absence of anyone to play with.]

[The world is peaceful, and it is perfect.]

[ The Knight recognises the brightness of the world they'd seen when they met the Drifter on the islands; there's a certain shared thematic that they remember.

They stop by the pool, peering into the water too. Someone they don't quite recognise, still with something of a mask and pale pointed horns, looks back at them. They touch hair and skin with gloved fingers, in obvious curiosity. A black and white sprite with horns of its own flits around their head.

Changing shape so much - this is a second skin. This is a dream, they think hazily, but it's not an immediately dangerous one. They can explore, they think.

They let their feet guide them to the right place, and knock on the door. Their friend will be inside. Why wouldn't they? ]

The Hunter | OTA

[He knew it was going to be a long trip, but he still took it. There was no reason to begin this journey but the nameless man felt he should.

Clad in his usual clothing, the nameless man began to walk along a path. It was a seemingly unending dirt road, with fresh flowers and lush grass framing it. It's...pretty, even if he had no desire to stop and smell the roses. Perhaps they were there for those who also would walk this path but possessed that desire.

No. It's not for him. Again, the nameless man is unsure why. All he knows is that he should keep walking through this moonlit night.

Directly to the far left, however, is another path. It may be hard to see because of all the trees and thick bushes covering it, but it's there. It's dark and unwelcoming, and the nameless man isn't paying any attention to it.

And you shouldn't either. Because if you stare into the abyss, it stares back at you. Over and over again.

But for now, just enjoy the walk. Talk to other man if you wish. It make be a bleak place but he seems at ease here.

All is well. There is nothing to fear.]

And they like it, well enough. Far away from cities and too many people, Chara spends their time drifting up and down the seemingly endless road, tending to the mostly natural clusters as needed.

And every now and again, just as they're beginning to feel a little lonely isolated, a traveler will come along. They look up at his approach, crouched down at the edge of the road with a rather well-worn trowel and watering can by their side.

Despite their homeless status, they're very clean.]

The Knight | OTA

[ This place is strange; an endless plain of darkness, dotted here and there by tilted fragments of another world. A sliver of a pale palace, the lanternposts of a sleepy town, fungal growths and strange glowing plants and the shore of a lake. A metal bridge, stretching to nowhere.

Sometimes there are other people; they don't stray beyond those fragments. Some reoccur, over and over. One is dressed in red, wielding a needle and thread; her voice is sharp and often hard, but not cruel. She speaks about the kingdom, about responsibility, about taking up a great burden.

"You could do it, if you had the will."

Another is blue, sometimes with a mask, sometimes not. His voice is soft; gentle and warm. He speaks about the wonder of the ruins, their beauty and their danger.

"Is it that, just faintly, you can still hear the echo of the bells?"

Eventually, no matter where you go, you come to the center. To an iron bench surrounded by drifting lumaflies, and to the huge, curved form of a cracked sphere.

The Knight is likely to be asleep, but sometimes they rouse themselves from their dozing state. They're slow on the uptake; they seem to have forgotten mostly how to speak with their hands, instead attempting to 'speak' in the same language the people dotted among the ruins do. The strangest thing is that it works, somewhat; they're capable of making sound. Small words like wait and home and hello.

Other times, they might just stare up, clearly a little confused as to what you're doing here. Did you need them for something? ]

[This world is odd. Not necessarily bad, just...odd. Ammy feels slightly like she's been shrunk by the Lucky Mallet again, but no. No, this is another world entirely that she's entered, and not the world of the Storyteller, either. A dream, but not the same as the ones her sibling god projects. Ammy treks cautiously and slowly, taking in the sights and the insectoid people around.

Where is she? Whose world is this? She has an idea, given the look of the various villagers and other people in this world and the visions that flicker before her eyes, but she doesn't see the little bug she's specifically looking for...not for a while. Only when she has prowled about for some time does Ammy find who she is seeking, moving over to the resting Knight when she sees them. Lowering her head, she gives them a careful sniff before nudging her wet nose against their face gently.

What are you doing down there, little friend?]

[Not far from Tokyo is Mustafar Musutafu, which is most known for being the home of UA - the most prolific, high-profile school for kids who hope to be heroes. All of Japan's greatest are UA alums - from Number One Hero, All Might! to Number One Best Jeanist, Best Jeanist!. The campus is as sprawling as you'd expect from a place so famous and well-respected.

There are several gymnasiums, and gym class consists mostly of, well. Training your powers. People without quirks don't get into UA - such a thing is just impossible. Gym is overseen by a scruffy man. He doesn't say much, not to you, but he's constantly reminding Shouto that he needs to push beyond his limits.

Or maybe you're not in gym. UA offers a variety of lessons, including ones that are simulations of hero life. You get to run around recreations of cities, piers, forests, fighting villains, rescuing hostages, or looking for some sort of ridiculous, contrived super weapon or base hidden in the grounds. This is the most exciting class out of every one offered - if only because the living legend teaching it has single-handedly curbed crime in Japan as well as the world. After class, the dorms are the best place to relax, and where most people seem to end up congregating anyways. Shouto will inevitably find himself there, occasionally even managing to complete his homework amidst the chaos of a group of teenagers in one room with little supervision.

Close friends will be invited to the Todoroki home on the weekend. It's not too far from the dorms, and there you can meet the family. There's a woman with the same snowy white hair and grey eyes as Shouto, who seems content to listen to her son talk, but asides from that the house is...quiet. Perhaps too quiet for how big the home is, and how many people you see in the family pictures. But it's comfortable and warm, and isn't that all that matters?

And Shouto, Shouto is...happy. He's not the same as the boy you might recognize - his hair is pure white, and his skin is unblemished. He's the spitting image of his mother, and he's more than willing to go the extra mile to help classmates, friends, or even a stranger. Patrols are an inevitability of hero life, after all, and just being an intern with a provisional license doesn't mean he's immune.]

[You don't have to look at Tim for very long to figure what his quirk is. He's taxed himself in too many ways over a period of too many years to know the specifics of the burn scarring that chases up both arms, runs along the underside of his jaw and disappears beneath the collar of his shirt. That's one of the things he's best at: pushing himself to his absolute limit, and then a little bit past that.]

[A walking cautionary billboard. Ice and fire are generally considered opposites, but really, there's not enough accounting for their similarities.]

[Maybe that's how he ends up with the kid under his wing. You could take the metaphor further, if you wanted: turn it into an extended analogy about phoenixes being reborn stronger from the ashes of their past mistakes. Tim's not the literary sort. He's also pretty obviously not from Japan, but why would a thing like that stand out? It's always been this way, hasn't it?]

[He watches the kid work the gymnasium from a distance. He gets the usual spiel from the guy running it, which might be more effective if there weren't a very present advertisement for the dangers of pushing beyond your limit watching from a very prominent point.]

[Still, he doesn't interrupt. He won't until Shouto's ready to talk.]

Jules Dagger Samari - Closed for a specific few

Andaria looks like any other major metropolitan area minus the skyscrapers and the large palace compound. Well, that and the fact that most of the people walking around look nothing like humans, primarily because they aren't. The pure white eyes with red rims and fangs make it clear they aren't human. Surprisingly though, none of them seem even remotely bothered by human presence. They seem almost friendly. Rather odd given human is on their menu.

The gates and doors to the palace are open. There are guards there, but they don't appear to be expecting any kind of trouble. Why, exactly, they would be there then, who knows? But they are.

The palace is bustling with activity. Most of the royal family is about and many of the servants are as well. Jullien can be seen walking the halls. The servants he nearby all give him genuine smiles of greeting and his mother even gives him a kiss on the check as they pass by each other. If the common courtesy and even love he's receiving from everyone isn't off putting enough, the fact that many of the servants greet him with Tiziran or Prince definitely is.

It's Ignis' first visit to Andaria, and while learning about his friend's home fills him with excitement, he can't help but also feel oddly unsettled. At first he tried to ignore it and just focus on the guard who was sent to pick him up as he rambles about the city and the royal family, but each time his friend's name comes up, he has to bite his tongue not to correct the guard.

Dagger. The name should be Dagger. Why isn't that what the guard calls him?

It's almost a relief when Ignis recognizes his friend's footsteps coming down the hall. He smiles, bowing his head politely and somehow manages to keep his smile from faltering even as he hears the guard beside him bow and address his friend as 'Prince.'

"My apologies for the wait. It seems no matter what place one visits, accidents are still as much a delay as ever."

Prompto | OTA

[Sometimes simplest wishes were the best. Insomnia was completely back to normal - a bustling city full of giant buildings and crowded streets. Chatter and laughter wafted through the air just as much as the smell of freshly baked bread from little bakery stands. These were the best days back home.

In his dream world, Prompto was... just a regular guy. Who happened to be part of the Crownsguard. They never met Ardyn at Galdin Quay, and the continued their journey to Altissia as planned. Now, his main bud was king - with King Regis having retired so that he could rest - and the rest of his retinue were still hanging around in their fancy duds.

Noct was married to Luna and that was awesome! And they had kids. Who hung out with Prompto's and Cindy's kids. And Gladio's kids. Iggy didn't have kids, but he was still really cool and had his sight. No deaths, no injuries, no Ardyn. Could life be any better?

Nope. That was the point.

Prompto was easy to run into out in the city. Despite working for the palace now, he still ran around enjoying food from street stalls or taking the somewhat vaguely defined children to parks or arcades. They even had an awesome trip planned to all go to Cape Caem to see the ocean.

Considering how busy the city was, it was easy for people to blend in anywhere. A shop owner? Another Crownsguard? A palace attendant? A babysitter? People were everywhere and in all positions and he'd readily greet or assist anyone who needed it. After all, he was representing the king.]

[No, as a matter of fact, he's not a babysitter but somehow Elle's ended up with all the kids because Prompto was supposed to be back an hour ago and Cindy's got work to do. He was supposed to be taking her out tonight, Prom. And Gladio knows Prompto well enough to be able to find him relatively quickly, stuffing his face after his shift to no one's surprise.

At least he has the good taste to be in the best noodle shop in the city.

Gladio comes in, still in uniform himself, drops into the seat next to him.]

Couldn't have at least shot us a text? [A playful arm punch before he reaches over to pluck a mushroom off Prompto's plate.]

You forget we had plans tonight, dude?

Lay down, your sweet and weary head

[The city doesn't have a name, it doesn't need one. It's known to all who live there by the simple word of home. It is beautiful, trees and flowers fill wide avenues of houses that manage to be very futuristic but homely and comforting all the same. Outside the city is a meadow full of all the flowers you can think of and beyond that a forest, full of gentle creatures and abundant with food. To one side lies the ocean, beautiful and sparkling with a beach that stretches as far as the eye can see.

Wherever you go in this new home of yours you'll find a library. Books are everywhere, celebrated and children draw and paint in the street. There is an abundance of music, Midgardian rock music to be specific, cats, dogs and mice and the occasional dreameater wander the streets freely. They have found home here too and everyone feeds them, pets them, looks after them.

Shion himself lives in a small house near the centre of the city, which he shares with his husband Rat and a thousand books. He is happy. Properly happy. Everything is alright, they escaped the bad things and found this new home. His friends are here; Aster lives not too far away and is getting to be a normal teanager, going to school, dating Yu. His parents are here, both his mum and Reno and Elena. Many others have found their home here too.

That might include you. The world is a haven for all those lost, or those whose worlds were harsh, cruel. This world is bright, friendly. People help each other. Their minds, bodies and souls are their own, no one and nothing is controlling anyone. You might go to one of the many schools if you are young enough, learning about everything. They are places of laughter and joy. You might work in whatever job your heart desires.

Shion works in one of the libraries, an airy space with old tomes of knowledge, history, stories. It might be here you meet him, or visit him and Rat at home, or at his mums bakery where Karen stands and chats with customers happily. It might be that you find him when he is with his dad, Reno teasing him as he ruffles his hair.

There are many places to meet in this city.]

It's not real... It's not real... {Shion's eyes opened his eyes. He could see light, through the vines that were twisted round his head. His arms felt like they had been filled with rock but he reached up and pushed away the vines. His face damp with tears.

What was happening? The memories of the dream he had... it had felt so real. He had been so... everyone had been happy. It hadn't just been one dream. He's been in other places not just that city.

It wasn't real. So what was? He had clawed out of the vines now and he looked around at the island, vines everywhere. What had happened?

It took him a moment, he felt exhausted. Despite the fact he had been sleeping he felt drained, bone deep exhaustion very much like when he had come out of the Machine... Seperating the dreams from reality took longer than he would have liked. But he had been here, on Ziziphus gathering plants. Laurent's voice through the stones... a warning, panic...

He tried to stand, but his legs gave way. He reached into his pocket and took out his stone. Laurent's voice had been a warning, but then the vines had errupted around him and that was the last true thing he remembered.

It was safe to assume everyone on Ziziphus had been caught, Aster... he remembered dreams with Aster. Panic flared in him and he spoke, making a message.

He had to move, this place wasn't safe. But his legs still had no strength, in a moment. He looked around, trying to see if he could see anyone, any people shaped lumps in the vines. There hadn't been anyone near when it had happened though...

He had to find Aster... She was sleeping somewhere. Stuck. Trapped in a dream. He had to find her.]

That's the mood I'm trying to tell you this encapsulates - technically Connor is a senior and should be graduating, but he has to get his GED, uh. Over the summer, because of the - look, when you don't go to school for half a semester because you're in rehab? It's kinda hard to pass your classes.

Either way: he has class and it sucks. He's gay and he can't do math, why does he have to take econ. What the fuck do you even need calculus for. Goddamnit physics, he trusted you. Why is Nick Carraway so thirsty for Jay Gatsby's dick???? Please tell Connor to stop falling asleep in his car and accidentally skipping fifth period or he's really never going to graduate at this rate. Alternately, come sit with Connor and Evan at lunch?

It's called the "You Are Not Alone Foundation," because like fuck would Connor let anybody name anything after him, but they're still restoring the orchard. Connor spends a lot of time there, helping plant new trees and paint signs - he's designed all the signage for the new orchard, so that's mostly what he spends his time doing. There's a couple murals on the various buildings that he designed too, actually.

He might be a year younger but in science and maths he could easily do Connor's exams for him and pass (but he won't, because it's cheeting Con). Instead he's opted for taking it upon himself to make sure his boyfriend passes his exams! He has a plan, a strategy to make sure Connor studies and that the studying pays off and taking classes with him is part of that also it means being with Connor all summer, because he's also a lovestruck teenager!

For now anyways he is bouncing along next to Connor yattering about physics, because Con clearly needs to reforge his trust with the subject.]

I don't see how physics betrayed you, Con! It's not even possible. It is all about rules, and how those rules always apply. It's not like art where there are no rules and no way of really knowing what your doing at all.

[The scene, as it's entered, is picturesque.

It's quiet, but not lonely; there's a two story house at the edge of a forest, a field of grass surrounding it, a path through the woods visible- not far from civilization, but enough that someone would need to decide to come see you. The sun is out, but overcast, the temperature moderate and calming with a shadow cast across everything. A gentle breeze sways the grass, passes through the house's structure. It's quiet. It's calming. The sort of place you'd want to lie in the grass and read a book, watch the clouds, and just let time pass by.

The only real movement comes from the front of the house, where surrounding it in every capacity is a rather expansive garden. There are dark tulips alongside lillies and roses, and a raven or two can be seen hopping across the roof or around the flowers, following around the man tending them. In the center of it all is Kravitz, wearing a pair of overalls and thick gloves, inspecting the leaves of what looks like a more sickly sprout. He stands and stretches, looking in the window, where those who are close can see a few people moving around inside. He'll catch notice of anyone approaching, though, turning around to greet any visitor.]

Uhm, hello-- do you need something? I can show you inside, if you're not here for me, of course.

[On the other hand, this scene is much less normal.

When Kravitz can't be found at the house, those that are curious can find a portal hanging in a small corner that leads to another world entirely. The landscape is entirely in greyscale, a sweeping field leading to a massive lake that seems to glow an unearthly white. Upon closer inspection, the 'water' here isn't that at all- it's thousands, possibly millions of souls, small white wisps swimming and moving around each other in a continued spiral, with a small island in the center. Overlooking them on the top of a tall hill is a structure part castle, part prison- the Eternal Stockade, a much louder, more cacophonous affair. Inside are the souls who cheated death, who escaped their place, and who simply refused to die. A figure can be seen emerging from the main door, a long black cloak layered over an intricately tailored suit, holding a rather intimidating scythe. More interesting, though, is that if you catch a look at them under the cloak, they don't seem to have a face at all. That's a walking skeleton, my friends. In fact, a walking, talking skeleton, as he looks to focus in on you as you approach.]

What are you doing outside of the pool? Go on, this isn't the time for visitation. You don't want to get in trouble.

[And for those who have spoken to him, that voice is identifiable as Kravitz himself. Can a skeleton look like it's furrowing it's brow? You're finding out, buddy, because he's doing it. Regardless, he doesn't look mad- just gentle. He'll sort this out easy.]

Because hi, she's here. And the request doesn't fall on deaf ears, despite how uninterested she looks in that statement. She's far too used to sight of this house and it became an out of the way stop in her daily travels. Taako's cookies give her the Strength to make it back to her home. It's been so long-she can't remember how it started? Which is weird, but she doesn't dwell on it for more than a millisecond.

But despite her cookie absconding ways, she's here to see the other one today. Because the area next to their house has turned out to be a great spot for them to play games and she's lost a number of items to their garden.]

I threw a ball against your house.

Welcome to this chill hangout on the beach. There's fairy lights on the palm trees, tiki torches to keep things nice and warm and lit in lieu of the perpetually setting sun, towels and beach chairs set up far as the eye can see. A magic soundsystem has been put in place to constantly play a backdrop of the classics -- Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffett, and Kesha.

There's an open bar specializing in margaritas, but no kids are getting served alcohol, not to worry. They get slushies, which are a hit with Mookie, the dwarven child who is currently playing in the water with his older half-sister Mavis.

There's a dance floor in a pavilion off to the side, around where a man named John, a darkly opalescent figure, can be heard giving the same few "live your dreams" and "ball till you fall" and "find joy where you can get it" motivational speeches over and over, taking breaks in between to have some snacks and margaritas with Merle.

Speaking of whom, Merle is right at the center, watching his two kids play from a beach chair, sipping a margarita to the backdrop of "Guitars and Tiki Bars" by Kenny Chesney, having the chillest time.

BOOGIE FEET

Oh what the fuck, we've got a live performance going, which means it's prime time to dance to some tunes. Kesha herself is here to perform with her band live on this island paradise. She's wearing a white leather jacket with rainbow fringe and short shorts and is really killing the stage.

Merle is a master of interpretive jazz, which skills he is now using to interpret some dance tunes such as "Die Young" and "Let 'Em Talk". He is tearing it up right now, and when he sees you, he grabs hold of your arm and pulls you onto the dance floor.

"C'mon! Cut a rug with me!" he calls out over the music, getting deep into it.

[Ren is totally into reality avoidance and free drinks, so there isn't much that pings her something is wrong sense. No, this is fine? It's always been like this and she's willing to easily accept this new, sandy life. She shoves a cup of slush into one pocket, a second flavor in the other and holds a third between her hands. She couldn't decide and the only reason she stops at three is because she needs to make a pit stop to the Merle bank for slushie safekeeping.

And to the chill man she goes, hobbling slowly with all the slush hoarded on her person. No spilling in this super fly and totally happening life. She needs to protect them and she accomplishes this with minimal splashing, ambling all the way to his beach chair, where she then kneels down and begins shoving the cups under it. Merle's body will surely protect her wares.]

I'm hiding them under you. [A pause.] Do you want to drink a pretty color too?

[He's got a drink in his lil dwarf hands now, but it's bound to run out eventually.]

"Hey -- uh, hey there," a green-skinned man with a round face and white hair and mouths akin to the traps of a venus flytrap on his face and palms stops you as you enter this dream.

The scene is of a quaint village on the sea, full of majority bug people, but of course all sorts of species are represented in some fashion. The cottages are cozy, and everyone seems perfectly content.

Oh yeah, and there's a golden statue of Myia in the center of town, at the top of a fountain, with streams of water cascading from both of her hands. On the cliff face overlooking the sea, a castle made of pure golden brick stretches into the sky. You might realize, now, that you're right at the front of its steps, and the venus flytrap man is sitting atop the stairs leading up to the entrance, probably getting his tuxedo all dirty but hell, this is Myia's perfect dream fantasy, all clothes are clean at all times.

"Are you looking for an audience with the queen? She's free right now," the venus flytrap says, looking a bit bored.

Well, this certainly wasn't what he expected.

It was hard enough to purposefully sleep and think to dream, to try and keep a goal in mind of something being wrong, but one step into this place and he finds himself changed. He looks down at his hands, less soft flesh or even bone but now taloned, rough skin sprouting into black feathers. Gently, he touches at his face, and-- is he a kenku? He doesn't feel like he's limited in speech, maybe a tengu instead. Regardless, still red eyes look back towards the plant person, trying not to betray the nervousness coiling in his gut as he reaches up to brush some feathers-- ha ha, that strongly resemble his hairstyle, wonderful-- out of his line of vision.

"Uhm... yes. Yes, I think that would be best." Goodness gracious, why does she have to keep doing this. At least this time, this isn't a new world where he has to live- this is something he can break. Or, well, convince her to. Kravitz' eyes drift to the golden statue, and he sighs. "It's Myia, isn't it?"

[On the Surface, everything is peaceful.

Monsters and humans seem to populate this neighborhood in roughly equal numbers, and plenty of them are out and walking around on this lovely day. Many greet Asgore as they pass his home, where he's in the front yard, gardening. He's not wearing any of his formal wear, or his crown. There's no real need for all that right now, is there? The garden is large and clearly well-established, with a wide variety of flowers and a section off to the side for vegetables. There's a bed of golden flowers, but as prolific as they are, they haven't been allowed to take over the entire yard. At some point, Toriel comes outside with some iced tea, and the pair of them sit and chat for a little while.

If you stop by while Asgore is inside, he'll probably invite you in. The house is full; it's always full of someone or other. Asriel and Chara might be around, or there may be visitors, be they monsters from here or people from other worlds.

Considering how diverse the town is, it's easy for visitors to fit in anywhere. A monster can look like anything, after all, so no one has to change. This is just a nice, quiet place to see some flowers and spend some time with family and friends. That's all you need.]

[The problem is there's this prickle in the back of his skull, something that raises hairs on the nape of his neck and stiffens his shoulders and makes him walk with a ball of tension in his gut like a knot of molten lead. Doesn't make any sense, see. Monsters - they're peaceful. They're friendly. Even the king, with his curved horns and significant bulk that makes him look like something straight out of Revelation, is perhaps one of the nicest guys around.]

[He stops just outside the house of the king of all monsters himself, watching the guy garden and wondering why he feels the way he sometimes does when he enters a room and can't remember why he's done so.]

He definitely remembers to ask after whatever it is your life's about, and he pays attention to the answer. Maybe you're a surfing friend, that's probably a thing. He's pretty good at it even, though it's not like he invented it.

At least one thing will be familiar in all this. Sure, he sees his niece much less often than in their jungle-camp reality, and actually she's an elf, so that's kind of startling maybe, but this isn't too jarring, at least for him and that's what matters most.

There's no criminal activity, however, or at least he won't be expecting any. No food hoarding, no child labor, no ghost talk, as far as he knows. Just normal if maybe a little distant caretaking. Which he can do, because he knows his limits and it's not long term.

Guess what, it's your favorite sister back from whatever totally rad space mission, waltzing into the kitchen like she owns the place, or at least like he owns the place. Lup's whole situation is, as always, on fucking fleek, tastefully dressed down like a rockstar on vacation. It's not like she's here to bring a perfect storm of hungering paparazzi down on her poor brother's workplace, this is just, checking in, catching up, it's probably been way too long.

And she really is happy to see Taako, beaming like the sun just came up when she spots him. One arm laden with a box of macaroons (store-bought, cuz astronauts are a bit too busy to do much baking of their own) and a smaller box containing a fist-sized rock from the Elemental Plane, she goes in for a sort of awkward half hug to greet him.

"Hey babe, whatcha got cooking today?"

[You will undoubtedly smell them before you see them, and when you see them, it is the eye of the storm in the very heart of their nexus of sprawling, clinging, curling plant matter. The ground under your feet is soft and spongey - the remnants of long dead, partially decayed vines pooling into a pudding-like mulch that has never been cleared away.]

[The dense woodland and soft hiss of slithering, climbing vines opens into a clearing. The cloying stink of rot is beyond omnipresent. At the heart sits something vast and round, nearly six feet in height and just as wide in diameter. One would not be remiss to liken it to a large bulb, particularly if one examines the ground at its base, where the pale slivers of roots sink into the dirt - doubtless to flower into the network of vines encompassing every inch of this island.]

[Rapid-fire images blitz through your mind's eye in a sporadic flash, should you draw close: a bluebird, wings folded at its side; a sprig of flowers varying in tint from bloodred to pastel violet, perhaps recognizable to some as sweet pea; an ingot of warm gold.]

[This is Bliss.]

[If you peer closer, you'll be able to pick out subtle intricacies in the grimed, bulblike texture of their skin. Dark, wrinkled divots in their verdurous flesh that resemble sleepily squint-shut eyes, and a wide, wide curve along their center - folds of plant matter forming a sagging, smiling face that manages to look both tiredly deep-set and utterly, eerily content. They are living in the squalor of their own decaying flesh. Grotesquely large, sitting flabbily in a mess of long-shed, dead plant matter, they are the very picture of overindulgence and gluttony.]

[They are Bliss. They are happiness at everything and everyone else's expense.]

[But if you come close enough, they will briefly turn away from their self-absorption, one of their droop-shut eyes peeks ever so slightly open.]

[How you choose to act next may decide how they elect to respond...at least for a time. They are, after all, rather uninterested in anything that does not immediately contribute to their own contentment.]`

[Ardyn Lucis Caelum had been a selfless person who knew only compassion and kindness. Perhaps, if he had persisted beyond the world of dreams, then this would be a different situation entirely.]

[Unfortunately for most, he had not.]

[Ardyn Izunia knew only hatred and fury, all of which was amplified by what the daemon within him saw as humiliation. To have a fragment of humanity again drawn out and taunted with all he had once desired was toying with him in a way the avatar of destruction could not tolerate. It made him angry, truly enraged in a way that turned the underlying fury of his eternal background noise to a deafening roar that could not be ignored.]

[Or restrained, judging by the blackened scourge on his face and neck staining pallid skin. Destroy, screamed the malice within him, and the will animating the unliving corpse agreed. The thing that was responsible would die, whether at Ardyn's hands or another.]

[And that was how he came to find the god of the idyllic dream. For once, there was no long grandiloquent speech; only seething hatred from the human-shaped monster with the blackened eyes and corpselike appearance, bringing flames to his hands at a thought. Now as ever he wore an empty smile on his face--but today it was less a hollow gesture and more as if he was reveling in the idea of what the god of this island was about to suffer through.]

Burn.

[ The bricks are warm beneath your feet. The sky? Fading from a gentle periwinkle above to a warm, inviting gold near the horizon, the clouds that roam across the sky a rosy pink. The town itself is an odd mixture of feelings, small and tight-knit, yet somewhat urban.

There appears to be some kind of... celebration, going on in the streets. There's definitely a crowd, and decorations. Those who get here, who integrate more naturally, will remember that they were invited here for something of that very sort. The crowds are thick enough and Twilight Town itself is easygoing enough that an influx of out-of-town, or even out-of-universe visitors is likely to be overlooked, even the stranger-looking ones.

So you're free to wander this crowd as you see fit. There's probably plenty to do, food to eat, Grandstander or Struggle to play, if you're so inclined.

Of course, the longer you spend, the more likely you are to run into someone who knows you, who you certainly do not....

If you're looking for Aster herself - and your character will likely know where to find her, in this reality - she can be found up on the Clock Tower, sitting with sea-salt ice cream in hand. Should your character seek her out, she'll turn to see them as they step out onto the ledge, a huge grin on her face. ]

it's quiet here. There are some chirping noises, and the soft whistle of a breeze, brushing against the bark of trees. It's...well, it's peaceful. You're on a set of floating islands in a small village called Vellie, where the temperature is mild and pleasant, and the air is both thin and crisp. In the distance, there are students who are reciting their owl lessons-- the flapping from above seems to suggest that there is a flight class going on now, also.

Otus can be found in many places! Typically, he just seems to be overseeing things-- nobody asks him to do work for him, and he seems a lot more confident in himself. Yes and no answers still suffice, since Otus is still mute, but no one makes fun of him.
He just looks happy. Watching a sun set over the clouds. Visiting people in their houses, even pulling fresh vegetables from the ground to consume and share...this is a paradise.

Funny thing about it, though, is that despite being respected here as an equal, he...doesn't seem to do much in the way of helping. In fact, when an issue does arise, his surroundings are quick to fix the problem and move along. ]

[The Citadel is a massive, beautiful space station. It has large scenic lakes, an artificially created sky with a sun that always shines, and so many people of different races and creeds. The Presidium is the shining jewel of it all, where all the political powerhouses and general important people roam. While almost everyone in the entire galaxy would argue that Shepard fits right in for this place, she can mostly be found walking around with members of her crew, awkwardly but happily navigating through crowds and going about her day.

Anyone who finds her here can see her walking around in her armor,colored green blue and brown for Earth, flanked by two of the Normandy crew- an alien figure completely hidden inside a suit and a rather buff human male. The two are bantering back and forth as they walk. If you catch her attention here, Shepard will stop instantly to talk to you. After all, she has all the time in the world to help you.]

B. We won (or we think we did)

[It's not often that she gets shore leave nowadays but when she does, she's grateful. It means her and the rest of the crew are free to mill about and enjoy the sights of the Citadel like civilians. Today she is sitting with them all at one of the Citadel restaurants, though she's moved to leaning over a guard rail and looking out over it all. She's dressed in her N7 hoodie, a casual look that nowadays gets seen a lot more than it used to. Once again she's easily approachable, though this time you won't be getting any potential commentary from the peanut gallery.]

[The Normandy is a sleek, beautiful vessel. The pinnacle of human and turian technology. Only the Alliance best and brightest are allowed on this ship- or any ragtag people that Shepard has adopted through her travels which lets be real, are many. Perhaps you've been on the crew for awhile now, or maybe you got picked up recently, or maybe you're a friend of Shepard's and are visiting the Normandy again. Whatever the case, feel free to explore the ship. Shepard will surely find you eventually to chat.]

[Whatever peace Shepard normally finds at this restaurant is about to be ruined when Ren's gaze lands on her and within a millisecond, she's gone from shoving a spoonful of parfait in her mouth to living her best life as a marathon runner. She didn't know her friend was back from space yet. What's going on with her phone? Sometimes it feels like she'd be better off with a rock instead of spacet&t.

Either way, she's gotta eat the parfait!! She's gotta yell at Shepard!!! And both those things combine into Ren shoving more of the treat into her mouth, simultaneously crying out Shepard and it really just sounds like a garbled, muffled Parf!!]

15th (CANON SETTING) || i. I thought maybe we could SAVE ourselves.

Mount Ebott is still a rather small town, despite its infamy. A national heritage site, it's preserved to be- how it is, making things easier, in some ways. The population cannot climb around them. The reporters and the media must take their leave at sundown, back on the road to whatever hotel they're calling home for the week. And little monarchs can stop being little monarchs for a while, and just be-- children.'


Sort of. Scurrying up and down the mountainside, Chara is more interested in fulfilling their role as Seeker in a game of hide and seek than preventing any grass stains from getting on their ceremonial garb, hair slightly more ruffled than the perfectly combed lines it had been this morning. To many, perhaps the sudden appearance of the human ruler of monsters out of the nearest is-- surprising.

For others, not so much. Either way, everyone is greeted the same; smiling genuinely, Chara bows, the creases at the corner of their eyes suggesting barely repressed laughter.

"Greetings."

If you're not careful, you're going to be enlisted for a very important role in Chara's court. Assistant seeker.


16th (SOL-RAVEH SETTING) || ii. But they shot us down.

[Once the sight of a rather ferocious and terribly long battle, the castle of Sol Raveh is simply- not, anymore.

It's fairly clear that Ozuma, the local avatar for the god of light, had no idea what to do with them when the battle came to it's end. Some people left, of course, whilst others still remained, enjoying the life the castle provided that they had, perhaps, not had before.

They can't quite remember why they stayed. But stay Chara did. It hasn't been perfect.

Relearning the will to live was not perfect. Learning how to stop hiding knives beneath their pillow each night was not... perfect. Learning how to be hugged, learning what it was like to not expect, the moment someone picked them up, to meet the floor, the wall, the ceiling-- that sometimes people could pick a demon up off the ground and find a child was

Hard.

They're still learning. Chara isn't the most forward person, these days. With no battle to fight, they don't put themself in front of crowds to have their voice heard, preferring to spend most of their time in places with far more peace to them. For those looking? Their preferred space is undoubtedly the rooftop garden, and the two-story treehouse found within.

And whilst they may not smile at those who approach them, the neutral look they give is, perhaps, more honest than anything else they have ever conveyed.

That's more than good enough.]

[Hello, it's hell. Please pick up the phone.

Because Ren's absolutely here in this weird, empty town and there's no reason to question why because Chara's with her. That's how it's supposed to be and how it'll continue on for years and years to come. It's only when she stops to fully think about it-this weird place, the mountain, that something starts to brew in her chest.

But it's easy to ignore and so she easily sweeps it under the metaphorical rug. They've got things to do today and contemplating the world around her isn't on the list.]
