Where: Ziziphus, those still on Ensō...and Mu

You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for your dream worlds, as well as detailing your efforts to free one another. Whether they're on Ziziphus or Ensō at the time of the dreams' capture, your character is free to access as many dreams as you like, as the interlocking mental landscape allows for that sort of crossing over apropos of nothing. And time, of course, is very fluid in dreams - many days, months, and years can transpire in a matter of mere minutes.

Will you fight your way free from Ziziphus's vines or Mu's thrall, or are you content to die in your sleep?

Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event!

Event Timeline

"Depends on your definition of deserved. Some of the treatment I totally deserved."

Because he'd been mistreated long enough to know that no matter what he did everyone would hate him and treat him terribly. If that was the case, then he might as well do something worth being treated that way. There had definitely been times later in his life when he'd deserved what he'd gotten. Even so many years later he still believed that he could spend his entire life doing good and it would never make up for what he'd done in the past. What his family had done.

As one dear to him is fond of saying 'Monsters are not born; they are made.' The blame falls to many, not just to one. Ignis might not agree with acting out when someone wrongs him, but he's not going to hold it against Dagger, especially if things are as bad as they sound like they may have been.

"My definition of 'deserved' has been in flux since a short time after I arrived on the island. We'll just leave that up in the air for now." Out of habit, he looks around them, though he certainly can't tell if the world seems any different for them starting to pick it apart, "Any change?"

"No. Though I'm starting to get to the point that I want to tear the walls apart."

Or maybe jump in his ship and blast the place to smithereens. That would be much more welcome.

"Perhaps not a bad idea. A sort of ripping ones way back into reality, you might say," Ignis isn't opposed to a little destruction, especially since his initial idea doesn't seem to be working. At least, not very quickly.

"Got a plan in mind or shall we just start swinging and see what we hit?"

"You said you thought finding major differences between what's real and here would help, didn't you?"

He hadn't even spoken his plan out loud and he already hated it. If his goal was to absolutely torture himself then this plan would do a damn good job of achieving his goal.

"That was my thought, yes. Often, it's the conscious mind realizing something is off in a dream that helps us wake up from them. I thought the same might work here," Ignis looks thoughtful for a moment before continuing. "I'd hoped that just talking about it might be enough, but that doesn't seem to be the case. What do you have in mind?"

"If this place is supposed to be all about perfection, there's somewhere where I spent a lot of my childhood, and adulthood really, that definitely won't be here."

He leaves his room without a second glance and heads down the hallways toward the Tadara's private quarters. Since they all seem to be on such good terms here, chances are his mother won't mind his entry.

Ignis is startled by the quick exit, but is soon following close behind Dagger using the sound of his footsteps as a guide, "Are you speaking of a room or something different?"

Dagger's words are frustratingly vague, but when aren't they? Ignis is just glad he's come up with an idea that might get them out of here.

"Both really. But more something different. I guess you could call it a room. Or a group of rooms. Only underground."

That is much more helpful in for Ignis in terms of figuring out what Dagger was talking about than what he'd said before. Completely makes sense.

Dagger continues down the hallways until they reach the Tadara's quarters. He doesn't even hesitate before pushing the door open.

"A hidden level to the house?" Though his voice holds a tone of surprise, Ignis' footsteps don't falter as he follows behind Dagger. A hidden level. It sounds so normal when one is speaking of royalty, yet there is a knot of dread in Ignis' stomach that says it is far from that. If this is Dagger's perfect world then the real one would be the opposite.

Not a hidden level, but a prison? He certainly hopes not.

"Is there anything you want me to do to assist?"

"An underground tunnel system. And a little bit more."

He's right on track for what Jullien is actually looking for. The vorgate was his grandmother's personal prison, a prison that had a cell reserved personally for Jullien.

"If it's here, you can help me destroy the minsid place."

[shatteredlenses]

"With pleasure."

Whatever the place turns out to be exactly--rooms, tunnels, cells or worse--the tone in Dagger's voice makes it clear there are no good memories associated with it. What better way to free themselves than tearing the place apart? Perhaps it will help give the man a little closure too.

"No limits. Minus bringing down the entire palace in the process. There are at least some innocents here that don't deserve to die."

Jules heads into the back of the bedroom where the door is hidden. He's expecting to find it there even if he knows it will be locked from the outside. There's no evidence of the door though. Nothing. Not a thing.

"Titana Rael..."

"Of course. No need to bring innocents into this." Even if it is just a dream, it would still leave a bad taste in Ignis' mouth.

He's silent as Dagger completes his search, but it doesn't take long for Ignis to realize something's not right. Or, at least, something isn't matching up with what it should.

"It's not there, is it?"

"No."

The location he'd spent most of his life, where his worst memories were from. All of it was gone. It shakes Jullien's very foundations.

"Minsid hell! This is all a fucking lie!"

Fire blazes out of his mouth and down his arms. It circles his fist before Jules slams his knuckles into the wall where the doorway should be.

Ignis isn't sure if it's the force of Dagger's anger or the warmth of the fire, but he finds himself taking several steps back, blades called to hand out of instinct more than need.

"All the proof we need and then some, it seems," he lowers his daggers slightly, It's proof, but it seems as if it is also something extremely painful for Dagger. It's really time to put an end to this dream before the man's hurt more.

"Do you still wish to pull this false world down piece by piece until it releases us?"

"I'm going to blow the fucking thing to hell!"

The whole palace if need be. As the flames raged and grew around him, the world began to shatter. The breaking didn't seem to stop Jullien in the least. In fact, it didn't even slow him. He was going to use his last few moments in this world to cause as much damage as he could.
