You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for your dream worlds, as well as detailing your efforts to free one another. Whether they're on Ziziphus or Ensō at the time of the dreams' capture, your character is free to access as many dreams as you like, as the interlocking mental landscape allows for that sort of crossing over apropos of nothing. And time, of course, is very fluid in dreams - many days, months, and years can transpire in a matter of mere minutes.

Will you fight your way free from Ziziphus's vines or Mu's thrall, or are you content to die in your sleep?

Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event!

Event Timeline

[There is one kingdom, now.

The details of how it was achieved don't matter, precisely: what matters is that the palace is in Delpha. The old capitals exist still, to serve as regional centers of government, but most of the important decisions are made in Delpha. Perhaps you're there from a neighboring country for diplomatic reasons. Perhaps you come from across the sea. Perhaps you work in the palace. Perhaps you're related to Laurent or Damen - however you arrived, Delpha and its kings welcomes you.]

Laurent, wake up. [Damen touches Laurent's shoulder.] Nikandros may well kill us both if we're late again.

[Unlike the slightly accented Veretian Damen usually opts for when speaking to Laurent or the slow and overly enunciated Akielon he sometimes uses, this is Damen speaking his first language freely and fluidly. He talks like he expects Laurent to follow what he's saying, like Laurent is fluent enough to.

He talks like this is something they've done for years.]

[ He opens his eyes with a soft protest, and a softer smile when he sees who it is. He shouldn't be speaking fluent Akielon, and in fact his actual words are fuzzy around the edges, but yknow language barriers are fake in Dreamland.]

… what time… did I oversleep?

By your standards, yes. We have ten minutes - Erasmus came by and woke me when he overhead Nikandros grumbling that I missed breakfast but told me that you were my problem.

[Damen brushes Laurent's hair back, out of his face, and gets up to get dressed.]

Don't forget Auguste is visiting from Chastillon for the festival.

[He doesn't bother to name which festival it is. It's the unification festival, of course, marking five years since Akielos and Vere joining together.]

[ He makes a softer sound of protest, fingers tugging on Damen's hand in a plea for him to stay. ]

[Fine. Reluctantly, Laurent uncurls. Auguste is visiting. Of course, he's here for some Akielon summer festival Laurent doesn't quite remember right now, and he's King obviously, and several palace servants are going to start speaking the wrong story now.]

I'm glad he's finally here.

He would be here more often if you didn't continually upset people. The Kyroi don't have many objections, but the Council is still mad about holding the festival in Delpha instead of alternating between Akielos and Vere.

[A servant - and they were all servants now instead of slaves, even if there was no particular reason for that to be the case here - comes in and sets a tray of fruit with honey down. She nods, politely greeting Damen, before taking her leave.]

Both kingdoms have claims on Delfeur. It's in the middle. It makes sense.

[Laurent’s voice trails off as he goes to get proper dress- how coincidental that they're sharing quarters here, the prince of one nation and the king of another, but Damen's sweet and Laurent doesn't look gift horses in the face.

Auguste likes the idea.

[The jacket in his hands is brighter than anything he's worn in the history of LifeAftr, cornflower blue with accents in gold. He's braiding his hair out of the way, and pauses to pop one of the honeyed fruits into his mouth.

This is a world where Auguste is definitely proud of his little brother’s achievements, yeah?

Well, of course. He's the one who decided we should move the palace when we merged our kingdoms.

[Damen's says this like it's just a fact of life that the capital is in Delpha now. He's fastening his chiton, fixing the drape of it absently.]

But you know how much change upsets people - nevermind the history between our people, they can't even agree on whether you're King or Exalted.

[It’s not talk of Delfeur that makes him pause; he can rationalise a lot of things into making sense to him. His brother’s name rolls off his tongue, but when it does the sound of it- the syllables-

Laurent stops, confused.]

Auguste is-

No, your brother - [You know? He actually doesn't fucking know the reason behind this. He feels like he should? But he doesn't.] Are you feeling okay? I can make excuses if you'd rather rest.

[He stops in place, a strange look in his eyes.]

Auguste is King.

[He tries saying it again, confused- this is how it should be, his brother is King, but why does it sound so terribly wrong-]

[Much as Prompto loved Insomnia and adored his family, traveling was nice. He didn't mind seeing new sights, and with everything peaceful at home he knew it'd be okay until he got back.

Why had he been picked to be a diplomat? No idea. Literally everyone else was probably more qualified than him, especially Iggy. But the other guys already had a lot on their plates so maybe it was time for him to pull more of his weight.

With no formal training, he arrived wearing a uniform and a big, dorky smile, addressing the first people he met with his best etiquette.]

Yo, is Damen around?

[Prompto manages to catch a servant on his way to deliver something to Damen. The servant smiles wide.]

You're looking for the King? Follow me, he's in the gardens entertaining.

[The palace isn't particularly large - it's not actually intended to be a palace in the first palace, really. They moved it, when the kingdoms were united, and it's been oddly expanded into the current state which it why it feels like it takes longer than it should to reach the gardens where Damen can be found amongst a number of other diplomats. The servant who's been leading Prompto taps Damen on the shoulder, pointing toward Prompto and setting the tray he's been carrying down.

Damen breaks from the group with some murmured apologies and approaches Prompto.]

Ah, you've arrived! We've been waiting for you, friend.

[Prompto was still a nervous boy. He didn't know exactly how to conduct relations like this, so he went with what he knew. Cracking a crooked smile, he did his best to be outgoing and friendly. It didn't hurt that he liked Damen. Maybe he could just do what he did with Noct and forget the whole royalty thing.]

Good to see you!

[He approached with large, brisk steps, holding out a hand.]

Hope I didn't keep you waiting. Were you up to something out here?

[He peeked over Damen's shoulder at the other diplomats. So much more... diplomaty than him.]

Not at all. [He laughs.] We were just having lunch and then it somehow turned into a full-blown discussion about trade routes, because if you get more than three political types together then it's guaranteed that they will all have different opinions.

[And, being King, he has to listen to them all and try not to upset anybody too much. Laurent escaped with Auguste somewhere, probably because it was either that or give someone a verbal beatdown and they could only afford for Laurent to dress down so many diplomats before relations soured entirely.]

Oh, ah, umm... Damnit, shoulda studied those. I'm sure it'll all work out fine! Just pick the fastest routes for stuff to get to everyone, right?

[He was really bad at this, but at least he could smile.]
