Then Know That My Life Was Just a Killer Dream
You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for your dream worlds, as well as detailing your efforts to free one another. Whether they're on Ziziphus or Ensō at the time of the dreams' capture, your character is free to access as many dreams as you like, as the interlocking mental landscape allows for that sort of crossing over apropos of nothing. And time, of course, is very fluid in dreams - many days, months, and years can transpire in a matter of mere minutes.
Will you fight your way free from Ziziphus's vines or Mu's thrall, or are you content to die in your sleep?
Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event!
Event Timeline
[ ♆ ] May 15th: The vines make their move, ensnaring characters in ideal fantasy worlds
[ ♆ ] May 17th: The Storyteller will make contact with those they can, as well as issue information and a potential solution
[ ♆ ] May 18th: Those that have not freed themselves from the vines or from Mu will suffer a death

The Hunter | OTA
[He knew it was going to be a long trip, but he still took it. There was no reason to begin this journey but the nameless man felt he should.
Clad in his usual clothing, the nameless man began to walk along a path. It was a seemingly unending dirt road, with fresh flowers and lush grass framing it. It's...pretty, even if he had no desire to stop and smell the roses. Perhaps they were there for those who also would walk this path but possessed that desire.
No. It's not for him. Again, the nameless man is unsure why. All he knows is that he should keep walking through this moonlit night.
Directly to the far left, however, is another path. It may be hard to see because of all the trees and thick bushes covering it, but it's there. It's dark and unwelcoming, and the nameless man isn't paying any attention to it.
And you shouldn't either. Because if you stare into the abyss, it stares back at you. Over and over again.
But for now, just enjoy the walk. Talk to other man if you wish. It make be a bleak place but he seems at ease here.
All is well. There is nothing to fear.]
no subject
And they like it, well enough. Far away from cities and too many people, Chara spends their time drifting up and down the seemingly endless road, tending to the mostly natural clusters as needed.
And every now and again, just as they're beginning to feel a little
lonelyisolated, a traveler will come along. They look up at his approach, crouched down at the edge of the road with a rather well-worn trowel and watering can by their side.Despite their homeless status, they're very clean.]
Good evening, sir.
no subject
Something like it shouldn't be a child's voice that broke the silence but
...it probably does not matter. His memory was not the most reliable lately. Instead he observes the child before him before crouching down to watch them work. He can take a guess as to what Chara is up to with their trowel and watering can.
The homelessness would not come as much of a surprise.]
Good evening, Child. Are you looking after these flowers?
no subject
Indeed, sir. I tend to all that grow along this road. [They look over his gear with a keen eye, interest obvious.] Are you an adventurer?
no subject
...live for? That sounds incredibly strange. They're a child. Of course the length of someone's life is never guaranteed, especially those who had no home or family. But--
But perhaps he's just projecting. He had been born with no name and would die with no name. It does not mean this child would share the same fate.]
[Yet it feels like something itches in his brain.]
I am...I believe so.
[He remembers some vague amount of fussing regarding his clothing. Something about a weapon? But it was just an endless path. There's nothing to fear here. Not this time.]
no subject
He looks- sounds, really- lost.]
Do you have a permanent lodging, a home? Or do you prefer to wander often?
no subject
I don't have a home. I never have.
[For as long as he remembers...but his memory is
Muddled. A mix of...dreams and reality? But there's no reason for that to happen. Right?]
no subject
Thus, you are one.
no subject
Would you be one as well?
[Even if it is just looking after the flowers?]
no subject
Perhaps caretaker would be the better description.
no subject
He's walking a couple of feet behind the other man, leisurely, vaguely. He doesn't remember where or when they started-- it's not important.
After a while of walking and looking around, he finally breaks the silence.]
Nice cape.
no subject
There's nothing to fear here.
Still, he turns around to face Magus.]
I guess...? It has it's uses.
[And makes it hard to see the scenery unless he deliberately looked around. Hun.]
no subject
What was that last part?]
Yeah. I bet. [ Yup. Yeah. It's pretty sweet.
A few more moments of complete, deafening silence. With the exception of their steps and the breeze among the flowers. He's...almost sure he just saw something. Off on the other path? Were those eyes? Maybe fireflies? Really big, really still fireflies?
He scratches at the back of his head, looking ahead, looking down, looking at the floors, their feet, the dirt. Back at the man.]
Where does, huh. Where are we going?
no subject
Eyes are always watching. Hun....that's...normal. And the other man asks a question that causes him to blurt out an answer.]
Yharnam. I...don't know what it is.
[But he doesn't know why.]
no subject
[ Neither does Magnus, clearly.
A few more moments of silence. Something feels weird. Something is-- what were they doing over there again?]
A town, probably?
no subject
[Said slowly, as if he was testing the idea out. Yharnam was a city. Yes, that sounds right.
But given how flat the road ahead is, it doesn't seem that way.]
There was something important there. Something that needed to be found.
no subject
[ He's still following. For whatever reason, they're still going. Heading out to that city?]
Treasure?
no subject
The only thing that's changing is whatever is watching them from the other path.]
No. [That he's certain of.] It's precious and rare...very rare. But it wouldn't get me money.
no subject
[ Magnus furrows his brows in thought. He sometimes glances at whatever is watching them, catching only glimpses of shapes he can't really understand. He's not scared or anything - there's only curiosity and vague confusion.]
A weapon?
no subject
No...a weapon would help, but that isn't what lies there.
[He remembers a blunt sentence, something that would have normally ended him long before...something. Something.
"I'm sorry but it's terminal. Can't say how long you've got now."]
...a cure. A cure for an illness. My illness.
[Something from the other path growls and the smell of rot begins to infect the air.]
no subject
[ He notices the change in smell. Roadkill? No... from the other path.
Why can they still see the other path?]
Like what?
no subject
[Not from sickness. He had fought until he carved out a life and continued fighting to keep it. But...
Terminal. After all that. And so--
Ah.]
Something's watching us.
[But rather then looking at the other path, the nameless man stares at the sky. The moon is out but the white color is off. And it's...moving. Like something is under the rock.
Under someone's skin.]
no subject
He looks up at the sky - a thought pops into his head: "The moon is fake."
Wait, what?]
What the fuck is that?
no subject
And he's seeing and hearing bells in the distance.
What is real and what isn't is not obvious to a nameless man. But for the Hunter, on the other hand, he could see quiet clearly.
This is fake. Again.]
This isn't real.
no subject
[ The final words before everything starts falling apart.
The other man suddenly feels miles away, despite looking as close as before. The smell becomes overpowering, almost taking the air away from Magnus' lungs, and he feels something tight around his arms and legs. He should be able to move, but he can't.]
This--shit, where the fuck are we? [ As conscience starts to fall apart and he's almost sure he isn't going to be able to hear an answer.
That isn't the moon, this isn't a path, the flowers aren't what they look like. This isn't here. This isn't a thing.]
