Exploration Event: Neverwere

EXPLORATION EVENT: NEVERWERE
Who: Everyone!
What: Your wildest dreams come true!
When: May 15th to May 18th
Where: Ziziphus, those still on Ensō...and Mu
Warnings: Mark as needed!

Then Know That My Life Was Just a Killer Dream
You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for your dream worlds, as well as detailing your efforts to free one another. Whether they're on Ziziphus or Ensō at the time of the dreams' capture, your character is free to access as many dreams as you like, as the interlocking mental landscape allows for that sort of crossing over apropos of nothing. And time, of course, is very fluid in dreams - many days, months, and years can transpire in a matter of mere minutes.

Will you fight your way free from Ziziphus's vines or Mu's thrall, or are you content to die in your sleep?

Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event!
Event Timeline
[ ♆ ] May 15th: The vines make their move, ensnaring characters in ideal fantasy worlds
[ ♆ ] May 17th: The Storyteller will make contact with those they can, as well as issue information and a potential solution
[ ♆ ] May 18th: Those that have not freed themselves from the vines or from Mu will suffer a death

[Someone has to take care of the flowers.

And they like it, well enough. Far away from cities and too many people, Chara spends their time drifting up and down the seemingly endless road, tending to the mostly natural clusters as needed.

And every now and again, just as they're beginning to feel a little lonely isolated, a traveler will come along. They look up at his approach, crouched down at the edge of the road with a rather well-worn trowel and watering can by their side.

Despite their homeless status, they're very clean.]

Good evening, sir.

[A endless road of silence, only to be broken by the sound of a child's voice. There's something there, right before him, but the nameless man can't quite put his finger on it.

Something like it shouldn't be a child's voice that broke the silence but

...it probably does not matter. His memory was not the most reliable lately. Instead he observes the child before him before crouching down to watch them work. He can take a guess as to what Chara is up to with their trowel and watering can.

The homelessness would not come as much of a surprise.]

Good evening, Child. Are you looking after these flowers?
achievementhunter: (♥ greetings and salutations my dude)

[Their motions are efficient, using the trowel to upheave weeds from the ground and toss them away, roots and all. They could hardly waste their time upheaving every weed from here to the treeline, but they do provide a little buffer for a few weeks, so the flowers can flourish. By the time Chara's activities bring them back down this way again, the weeds will be as thick as ever. An eternal cycle of weeding and watering; they don't mind it at all.]

Indeed, sir. I tend to all that grow along this road. [They look over his gear with a keen eye, interest obvious.] Are you an adventurer?

[The nameless man watches the child's precise movements. It's good that they have something to do. Something to...

...live for? That sounds incredibly strange. They're a child. Of course the length of someone's life is never guaranteed, especially those who had no home or family. But--

But perhaps he's just projecting. He had been born with no name and would die with no name. It does not mean this child would share the same fate.]

[Yet it feels like something itches in his brain.]

I am...I believe so.

[He remembers some vague amount of fussing regarding his clothing. Something about a weapon? But it was just an endless path. There's nothing to fear here. Not this time.]
achievementhunter: (we will walk away from empty gold)

You believe so? [Oh, well that is interesting; enough to make Chara pause with their trowel sunk into the dirt, examining what they can see of his expression.

He looks- sounds, really- lost.]

Do you have a permanent lodging, a home? Or do you prefer to wander often?

[That question doesn't make the itch worse. It's a consistent, across worlds and minds.]

I don't have a home. I never have.

[For as long as he remembers...but his memory is

Muddled. A mix of...dreams and reality? But there's no reason for that to happen. Right?]

Then you are an adventure. [Chara concludes, simple as you please. They resume their gardening.] Adventurers hardly ever have horses- they just wander.

Thus, you are one.

[Hun. He's legitimately never thought about it that way. An adventurer. Sounds...nice, actually.]

Would you be one as well?

[Even if it is just looking after the flowers?]
achievementhunter: (a new Challenger approaches)

I suppose, in a sense. [A shrug.] An adventurer of this road.

Perhaps caretaker would be the better description.
