Who: Anyone!
What: Catch-all Denny mingle for the month of July
When: Throughout all of July, generally
Where: Denny
Warnings: Label your stuff if it comes up but otherwise nothing comes to mind
[Feel free to use this as a catch-all for whatever your character might conceivably be doing here. Are they loitering outside? Delivering supplies/food, or looking to share information about the city under the water? Helping improve the place because god knows it certainly needs it? Cooking? Socializing? Eating? Just wanting to booze it up? I've heard chatter of live music, so whatever you wanna do here, go for it! There are also some newer additions of rudimentary game boards and decks of cards to pass the time.]
[There are nominal rules but if you don't get caught you don't have to deal with them, so you do you.]

[Alas. Summer was terrible and so was sunlight, which led to Ardyn hiding out in a particularly shaded corner accompanied only by some of Muffet's blackberry whiskey and a half set up chess set he was idly toying with. It didn't look like he was in any real hurry to arrange the pieces correctly, turning what was most likely the white king over in his hand with an appraising look.]

Ah- that's chess, isn't it? We had a similar game in the Underground, but I don't believe I've ever played the human version...

Unfortunately, she's a goblin and she's taken over a few portions of Denny this fine afternoon. You can find on top of a table, with her legs swinging over the side, as she creates a domino house atop it. This is math, or something. She's doing her best. But more than once her swinging causes the table to shift and the house comes tumbling down. Horrible. She has to lean over the table to try and pick up the fallen pieces with her fingertips.
Instead of just, you know, getting down to pick them all up. Have mercy on her.
She can be found playing almost any of the games, ''''improving the building''''' by doodling on the walls different images-mostly islanders or cats or stars, or she might be helping you out by becoming a living garbage disposal. The half eaten plates of food or drink seem to be a siren's call for this horrible child and she can, often, be seen shoving some leftover food into her pockets or taking sips of drinks that people are clearly done with. At least it's not alcohol??? She has standards. Let her live.]

[Is it really that much easier for Asgore to hunker down and gather up a bunch of tiny dominoes in his bigass fingers? Probably not, but he's here doing it.]

Of course, you could ask why Klaus does anything. You won't get many answers with that line of questioning.
Meanwhile, he's now settled into the task of methodically picking out every single piece of parsley, down to little leaf flecks, out of his bowl and just setting it on the table nearby. There's a good little pile accumulating here, if anyone were interested in relieving him of it.]

Agent Texas ★ OTA ★ Will match style
She's also working on a project, something that comes dangerously close to being a craft project if she thinks too much about it, but weaving reeds to make a workout mat is a practical affair. She knows the gym's equipment will mostly be comprised of things made out of logs and such, but she thinks a workout mat will be important for sparring matches and boxing and the like. So she has made a deal to use the wool of Bucky's sheep, Petunia, to stuff the mat with. First she needs to make the thing, though, and so she can be found in the evenings sitting outside the neighboring hut to the Denny, weaving reeds.
All this is not to say Tex will sit there expecting others to bother her while she's working. She's quick to offer a nod of greeting to those who pass by, and a "hello" to those she's more acquainted with. Should a conversation start she'll continue working, just at a slightly slower pace, so she can talk. ]

[Hello to you, too, Michael? He's got a little pile of nuts for his lorby - which it is eating on top of the table because we have health standards here - and a piece of fruit for himself, and he's here now!]

It's fried egg, fried egg, gonna get some— Shit, fuck, bad.
Maybe if Klaus had his walkman he wouldn't be getting the worst songs possible stuck in his head at all times. They should open a Radio Shack here.
Wait, back up. Klaus actually traces his steps carefully back a couple feet, because he does see a lot of things that are bad to look at with his eyes on the island(s), but that is a lady stuffing some fluff into some reeds and now he's forgotten what he was doing before.]

comes to this two weeks later because I am So Slow
The evening time is when people are usually winding down for the night or relaxing and so Shepard finds it a good time to just observe everyone and observe the Denny. It's this sort of observation that gets her watching the woman weaving with curiosity.]
What are you making?

The scrawny demon hops up onto one of the bar stools, flaps his dinky little wings so he doesn't flip over, and promptly slumps across the bar itself.
"Gimmi something strong!"
OTA- come say hello!
Roman was still a little frazzled from going through the mana pool. It took a try or two for him to get up the gumption to actually take the dive. It was almost like being Summoned all over again. He felt like his body was being pulled apart atom by atom and crammed back together like a child's playdoh project.
He sat his bag on his lap and flipped it open, finally ready to explore the items inside. Soap, string, candles? Okay, sort of camping gear. The iStone was what really got his attention. His eyes lit up as he lifted the sleek device and he turned it every which way. They did not have smart phones in the 90s.
"Oh, bad! Is this like--a super gameboy or something?" He wasn't really asking anybody but it was impossible for the demon to keep his mouth shut. His clipboard was in there too. He rifled through its pages and was unable to escape a sudden feeling of ennui. Right. While he knew he couldn't get away from the Easter Bunny, he still had a job to do.
He glanced around to see if anyone was looking before he tucked that back into his bag.

[You can spot him behind the counter, most of the time. Sometimes he's measuring out drinks or cutting up food or sorting stock or taking inventory, but you can also find him whittling little blocks of wood when nothing else is demanding his attention.]
[It turns out that trying to hand-carve some well-balanced die is hard. Impossible task it might be, that hasn't stopped Tim from trying. He just really, really needs something to do with his hands.]

[Asgore has made himself fairly scarce of late. There's no shortage of reasons - everybody can see on the bulletin board now who has vanished, and whether it was Toriel or Wesker and Krauser, a fair few people who were important to him are gone.
Still. He's here now, not looking especially downtrodded; as it happens, he has a basket of stuff!]

Wait, there were too many words changed for that to even be recognizable as a meme. Also, memes don't exist in Klaus' 2019. It's truly the darkest of timelines.
The point is, while Tim has been coming and going in between actually doing things for their fish friends and like, possibly other things that he needs to be alive and run a business and generally be productive, who knows, Klaus has been maybe avoiding his home with Ben and also anything that can be remotely mistaken for responsibility so much that the Denny is about to become Klaus' new home soon.
Sometimes it's hiding behind the Denny and picking very carefully at the stash of shrooms he's squirreled away from Io. Sometimes it's eating way too many fucking eggs. Sometimes it's getting shitfaced on berry whiskey and drooling on a table.
Right now, though, Klaus is actually on a stool at the counter, eating a meal like a real person. He's (mostly) sober and just kind of picking at some meat he still hasn't been able to identify, pointedly ignoring the vegetables on his plate.]
...Okay, I give, what is this made of. If you say people I'm disowning you.
[Somehow, that doesn't put him off nibbling at it regardless.]

But they're all on these crazy islands together, right? So maybe he should make an effort.
So Steve finds himself making the trek to Denny. The interior is kind of not what he expected but kind of actually what he expected, at least from a tropical point of view. At least it matches everything else. He can be found at the chess/checkers board, or maybe playing some simple card games, or sitting at a table with a small plate of food. Look, super soldiers have insane metabolism, and he needs to eat regularly. ]

Erika Fisher | late in the month, OTA
At the very least, maybe Chip can play with this if she gets it fixed up a little. So, each time she’s hanging around the Denny, she does a little work at a time replacing the leather covering. There’s no real rush to the process, so no need to treat it like work, necessarily; she can just do a bit at a time, keeping her supplies basically contained to her selected spot at a table inside the restaurant.
Frankly, working on this dumb ball is the first time in a while that she’s managed to fall into this kind of relaxed focus, humming quietly under her breath on and off while she puts it together.
Aug 1
A nasal voice came from above. Roman was reclining lazily in the air and had been watching Erika's little art project for about twenty minutes. He couldn't keep his curiosity contained any longer than that though.
He didn't know anything about this woman, but she was the only person around today and therefore had been selected as his Entertainment.

Regardless, Faust is here now, and he's...unpacking the domino box? He holds one of the strange wooden blocks up to the nearest light source, his eyehole narrowing in scrutiny as he studies the number of dots on each piece, attempting to puzzle out their meaning. Are these some sort of divination tokens, he wonders? Or perhaps they're charms, charged with magical energies so as to keep demons at bay?
...he's going to be here a while. At least he's not causing a scene like last time, right...?

Doesn't mean he has to like it, though. Or that he's going to stop drinking, for that matter. The boy has claimed a corner table, with a book on quantum mechanics surrounded by a notebook and several large pieces of parchment covered in graphs and equations. Strangely enough, he seems to be engrossed in a copy of The Little Prince instead, leaning back against the wall and sipping blackberry whiskey. He's almost comfortable? Go ahead and try to ruin it, see how that goes.

“But man, none of that explains how the hell we got here!”
Alternatively, later, you might find him at the same table with his notebook at the side and dealing with some cards. You might see him waving or hear a “Hey!” behind you. He grins. He’s had enough wracking his brains over what’s going on in the islands at the moment and could use the distraction.
“How ‘bout a quick game or two to let off some steam? Doesn’t have to be cards and we can liven it up a little if you want!” He’s not above cheating.
