[Feel free to use this as a catch-all for whatever your character might conceivably be doing here. Are they loitering outside? Delivering supplies/food, or looking to share information about the city under the water? Helping improve the place because god knows it certainly needs it? Cooking? Socializing? Eating? Just wanting to booze it up? I've heard chatter of live music, so whatever you wanna do here, go for it! There are also some newer additions of rudimentary game boards and decks of cards to pass the time.]

[There are nominal rules but if you don't get caught you don't have to deal with them, so you do you.]

Hey, between the tea and the cacao, you're officially contributing more to Denny than I am.

["Contributing" being the keyword there - Tim's mostly just doing repairs and general maintenance as opposed to bringing anything to the table, figuratively or otherwise.]

Oh, that is hardly true. You are the reason this place exists at all!

[Asgore probably wouldn't have built something like this. He wouldn't have thought of it, or else he wouldn't have wanted to put himself out there so much. It seems, sometimes, like he ought to be taking up more of a leadership role here - but then again, nobody is looking to him for that anymore. It just feels like he's getting away with something.]

It has been very good for us, as a community.

[Community. Right. He's not sure if that's more or less valid based on his original intent in making the place.]

Not everyone in the "community" seems to want to visit, but I guess not everyone would. 'S good that some people are enjoying it, I guess.

I suppose you cannot always make everyone happy.

I find it quite nice to come here, when I have work like this to do. [Nodding at the yet-unshucked pods.] I enjoy having people around, when I can.

I guess that's part of why I did it. The islets're too...I dunno. They're too quiet.

[They're too isolated. They're like living in Alabama. Isolation is preferable to crowds, but what Tim really prefers is the in-between; the distance of being around conversation, on the fringes of everything else, without ever needing to engage unless necessary.]

[People are usually in their homes, he thinks, when they're on the islets. There's not a lot of gathering, for all that there is a sort of common central yard.]

My home is a little farther out, as well. I chose it for the extra land - of course, that did turn out to be necessary.

I guess if you had to you could move stuff to the farming land that Harv gave us. But I dunno. Kinda adds a whole extra step.

[There's a garden outside the house he shares. Most of it is poisonous flowers, which is why he hasn't really gone near it. He's let...people who know how to garden handle it.]

How, uh, hard is it to take care of flowers here? Does the weather make it more complicated or anything?

I would rather not have to go so far.

Not especially. This climate is good for a wide variety of plants. I am from a more temperate area, myself, but I am still familiar with many of the fruits and berries that grow there. And the island's unique plants are so interesting!

Unique how? Like...tropical plants and stuff?

[Tim has yet to encounter the Living Furniture that Asgore has at his disposal. The lanterns on Cahypdo were the closest he got to that, and that was enough to sour him on any further dealings with the Roaka.]

Like those lantern plants!

[SORRY TIM, Asgore was on pretty good terms with them before the whole volcano thing, he's got just all sorts of plants from Cahypdo. Even now he doesn't bear them any ill will - although that's just kinda a theme with him.]

And my furniture. I think that I could give away a few cuttings of those now...I attempted to offer them over the network before, but that was when the stones were doing...odd things.

[read: that's what all his garbled messages about his own misery were actually meant to convey]

[Tim has. not thought about that. At all. Because dealing with Rin Tohsaka speaking across two avenues was not a fun time for either of them, and it was frankly not an experience he wants to dwell on.]

Your, uh, furniture? [He never heard about what the furniture was like, due to aforementioned malfunctions.]

Yes! I have a large flower they use as a chair, and a table made from a sturdy vine in the style they showed me. It takes some time for them to grow to maturity, of course.

You know, I'm sure I could grow some lantern flowers around here, if you would like them inside Denny.

[Damn. Guess he missed out.]

That...would be great, actually. How long do they take?

[Actual living furniture? If that means he'll never have to repair or build another chair or table in Denny, that would save so much fucking time. And also leave him with less to do, but let's not get distracted here.]

Several months, easily. Less for the chairs.

[Asgore hadn't thought Tim would want the living furniture for Denny, but if he does...he casts a thoughtful eye around the place.]

You would need trellises for the tables to grow along, as well.

Are they easy to move, or do you have to figure where they're gonna stay beforehand?

['Cause that might be difficult. To have certain parts of Denny, or anyplace, off-limits for a significant amount of time. The house might be less of a problem, but...still.]

Ah, that is the downside - you would have to uproot them.

[That's perfectly possible, but it would be stressful on the plant, and a fair amount of effort besides.]

I suppose people might like to move the chairs around, as well... [Hm.] You could have some permanently set up around the sides of the room, and leave the rest as they are?

Yeah, that might not be...I dunno enough about plants to wanna risk that. [Growing them up around the signs, though...]

That might work out. Do they stop growing after a while, or do they just keep getting bigger?

[Pruning them back might be a pain. Maybe less of a pain than having to fucking build chairs from scratch if they get really fucked up.]

The chairs only create one large flower - big enough to seat me, but it has not grown much since.

[For a human, it's gotta be the biggest cushiest chair]

And the tables would only need to be pruned some. I could manage that.

That'd be...pretty great, actually.

[Awkwardness of interacting with Asgore aside, they can apparently get some shit done when they work together? Or at least - Asgore can get some shit done. And Tim can watch.]

Do they drop seeds and stuff?

I suppose they must eventually, but mine have not yet. Perhaps they are still too young, or it is not yet the season for it.

[Those are details that would be nice to have, but oh well. He'll manage.]

If they did, I imagine it would be clear before too long. I'm sure I could find them different homes.

[It's not a bad idea. And it'd safe on certain costs of finding more wood - save supplies from repairs, so they could be better used for something else, like fixing up the many buildings that still need it.]

If you don't mind helping with the layout of that...then, yeah. That'd be pretty great, actually.

[He genuinely seems to be. It's nice to have something productive to do. The garden's productive in its way - most of what he grows ends up in the shared stores - but it feels far more removed from everyone else.]
