you and me in the moonlight
Who: You!
What: A year end party MINGLELOG to help everyone recover from the Shit we’ve been through.
When: Forwarddated to Nov 24
Where: Enso E4, close to the ST Temple
Warnings: Mark as necessary, but none expected.
As the end of November draws near…… it’s time for that player plot the mods hinted at in their latest announcement.
Laurent’s Witch Labyrinth! -no, actually, it’s just a party.
[preparation]
All day on the 24th people are hard at work setting up on the golden beaches of Enso. The Storyteller’s Temple can be seen from the site and vice versa; it’s just a short walk away. There’s quite a bit to be done, so every extra pair of hands are welcome!
[the party]

As evening falls, a series of torches light up the party site for the lost; most prominent are the three large campfires spaced out across the beach, offering a variety of gathering spots for those who don’t like the loud partying going on at the other one.
There’s more than enough food to go around. An entire Cariborn is being dug up from the sandy soil way up the beach, having been roasted in the ground. There’s a wide variety spread out on tables… of handwaved origin… maybe they’re the ones left around from 4/20?? It’s probably fine. Herb- baked vegetables, fresh fruits, meat of various types, pizza!! and yes, Muffet’s Magic Blackberry Alcohol abound.
We’ve also got party favors. Amongst them, it seems like..... owo are these sparklers?
Come hang out! It’s a well-deserved break.
[activities]

The children (and adults so-inclined) have some cute party games to have fun with. There’s a simple little ringtoss area set up, with rings that aren’t even proper circles (listen, Laurent tried) and wooden stakes in the ground to be ringed.
Across the wide stretch of sand there's a lot that can be done- want to build some sandcastles? Pick some shells? Fight some crabs? The beach is dotted with doodles in the sand, inviting you to join in.
The biggest attraction is perhaps the petting zoo- well, it’s a cluster of animals just hanging out, but you get the idea. Located far up on the beach and away from the danger of the waves, the petting zoo has three whole Chocobos, two whole Tigerlilies (one of which is clearly guarding the Chocobos), and one whole horse. Sometimes two horses, but the grey wandering one is wearing a plaque that says “I BITE. PET ME CAREFULLY.”
[storyteller?]
Yes, ST-chan is invited! I’m leaving it to them to top-level or tag out at their leisure. Keep an eye out for the bunny god, they’re Coming.

There's also an assortment of coconut bowls and extremely pretentious serving platters that need to come through the mana pools, as well as the requisite helping of baskets that need to come through the mana pool, because he's running out of space again and he just. Maybe someone will steal them! Maybe he can get rid of them that way!]

[Notably, while she's strategically placed some nice bits of greenery around the plates to make the whole thing look good, her decoration includes absolutely no flowers at all. She thought it perhaps better to wait a few more months, for that particular memory to fade more, lest it make people... uncomfortable.]
[Please take some of the coconut cookies. Please.]
[She's so tired of coconut.]

PARTY
no subject
As far as the party goes, he can mostly be found near the campfires. He's telling stories mostly, which your character might or might not recognize as being close to Greek mythology, but not quite the same. Genders have been changed, details altered - Persephone only ate four seeds, for example, instead of six and stays in the underworld only a quarter of the year. There's also a strange shift in the way things are presented: deceit and shameful behavior are emphasized as being the reason behind punishments. Basically, everything is just a step left of actual Greek myths in a way that's recognizable, but not the same.
Every once in a while, though, Damen excuses himself to go stop the grey horse with the pet shaming sign from ransacking the food tables. Chuck knows there's fruit there, and has decided that if there's fruit? It must be hers to eat, and frequently wanders away from the other animals in an effort to get what she wants. He can be found afterwards in the petting zoo scolding her and telling her to stay put. She doesn't seem moved by this, honestly.]

It was his suggestion, so Prompto spent some of the time at the party helping with the ring toss. He helped pick up after each game and happily offered tips or explanations of how to play to anyone who was interested.
"Hey, wanna give it a try?" he asked when someone walked by, a pile of sorta rings in hand.
Petting Zoo
Another Prompto-inspired contribution, he felt it only right to help keep an eye on the animals. Also, hanging out with animals was cool. It was great that there were other animals in the makeshift petting zoo, too. The chocobos were awesome, but it would have been a bit sparse with only their animals.
Though he was open and friendly to anyone who stopped by, he was a little out of the way. It was a nice spot to decompress during the party. So, when things got a bit hectic, he went and sat down by the chicks, busying himself by taking care of them.
He was also offering rides to children or smaller people. Coco was now large enough, and while they didn't have a full set of gear he could help lead Coco with someone on his back. He figured that could be fun for the kids at least.

The ring toss is where she settles down for awhile. Because is it a game or party favor? And does the distinction between free gift and game matter in the end? Probably not. So she takes matters into her own hands-literally. She can figure this out. It looks like a bracelet therefore It Must Be One. Don't mind her, sitting by the ring goal, trying to shove the weird circles around her wrist. Or just hit her with one. Maybe she's the new goal now. Try to smack her and get some points.
Then she ambles over to petting zoo where she's deadeyeing the giant chickens, trying to offer them a slice of pizza while mimicking their weird bird noises. She's not an expert okay? She knows horses eat grass and tigerlillies are cats so everything they do is perfect, but what about this.
Please ignore the sound of her cluck coo as she tries to mimic the trills and communicate with the creature. She's just trying to get them to eat it!! Come on!! Gosh.
But really, she's all over the place. A hidden menace in the shadows. A little nightmare that's doodling stars all over the beach or shoving bits and pieces of food into her pocket, as per usual. Play with her!!]

But of course, the main reason he's drawn to a party is as simple as sitting around and chatting with people. He greets everyone enthusiastically, even if he's seen them just hours ago. Friends can disappear with very little warning--this he knows, deep down, in some irrational way. Time to sit around the campfires and just hang out.]

Now that the party's started, he spends a little while over at the ring toss, trying to join in. The rings are a little small for him, though. It makes throwing them with any accuracy difficult, so after a couple attempts he wanders over to the campfires.
This is more his speed! Just sitting and enjoying food and company is all he really needs. After a little bit, he'll also walk from fire to fire doing...something to them. Look, now they can't burn people! Isn't magic handy?]

Cuddling with Ignis near the petting zoo, letting Leopold glue himself to them, or he's doing his best to slip between the party goers, flashing smiles and offering bear hugs to anyone who wants one now that he can. But mostly he's on the hunt, watching carefully, appraising the attendees... surely there's a few people here he can set Prompto up with.

But the closer one approaches the noise the sooner they will see it is a...different kind of fireworks show.
Grimm had never been one to turn down a friendly fight, so when the Knight came to him and asked for a battle, he had agreed. Letting loose once in a while was good for both the body and soul after all.
And frankly after the past events they both deserved to lose themselves in a dance of fire and nail, the Knight especially. Give it all they both had to win this battle and stand triumphant over the other. Over the sounds of the screech of firebats, nail strikes and sand being kicked up all over the place is Grimm's laughter as the little Vessel chases after him, silent but no less determined to win.
Both contestants are too absorbed in their battle to notice if they have an audience watching them, nor have considered the possibility that the context of their little fight may be taken in different ways then the truth. One could watch until the end before speaking up or anything else they wish to do - they don't mind.]

And then she discovers pizza.
She happens to be wearing an odd shirt that she picked up when she first arrived. Only Nott had, until now, zero ideas of what pizza could mean or what the image in the background even depicted other than being an odd pattern.
She quickly notices that some of the food looks Very Similar to the pattern on her shirt and starts chomping away at it ravenously in her goblin way. And then she gets more. And more. She is now on her seventh pizza slice and she just may finish the entire supply before long.
She finishes one and comments randomly to a nearby person, nervous disposition quelled by copious amounts of alcohol,]
Have you ever heard of this pih-za stuff?? This is even better than fresh rat!

[He only has one, and he's eating it slowly. He's savoring every bite. Everything, from the smell to the texture of it, cheese and crust and tomato sauce and the way he can taste how precooked it is, it's...]
[It's maybe the one thing that can displace him to the only days he can remember as happy in that distant, vaguely subjective sense, because they were before anything else happened. The taste of pizza and the smell of smoke, the sweet fizz of Pepsi cut with the taste of someone else's mouth on the lip of the can. Could never afford something like pizza on the road; it was always beef jerky, trail mix, power bars, shitty gas station sandwiches, coffee from drive-thrus. Maybe he had pizza once in some other context - birthday parties and late night dinners with people whose faces have become blurs, memories so unrefined that they might very well not have happened in reality at all, but in some manufactured facsimile of it, some product of wishful thinking.]
[Pizza tastes like days in college, and Brian's smile without an edge of something knowing and rueful behind it. Even if it's eaten by a campfire, with the soundtrack of waves beating against a sandy shore.]
[He can't drink, but later in the night, he lights up the beach with a sparkler or two. The spray of sparks throws his face into weird relief. He might not be smiling, but he looks...relaxed, almost.]
[And maybe a little less tired than usual.]

super ota
He's not disappointed as he arrives in a flurry of overly colorful clothes, his coat of ridiculous amounts of embroidery and the two-patterned pants and thigh-high boots - but he's forgone his shirt and doublet for a ridiculous crop top, courtesy of Beau's clothing stash. It shows off even more of his horizontal scars all over his throat, belly and arms - as well as the snake and snapdragons tattooed down his right arm.
His horns have their usual baubles in them, but also twined with the mana pool narcissus flowers. All to be as obnoxious as possible for today. He wants to know how people react to the literal (not) demon, because he promised that he'd make sure Nott would be safe here. (Plus he just likes being a little shit.)
Naturally this game is a little bit void when he sees the amount of unusal people here, but it doesn't mean he still can't play. So Mollymauk is socializing, talking to people, shamelessly flirting, drinking probably too much and happily trying a bit of everything. Maybe he'll even juggle fruits for the kids and bored adults! ]

He grabs some food, hanging around to chat while he eats for a bit before wandering over to sit by a campfire. There, he seems content to sit and talk, or just watch other people. ...Or forget that he’s looking in another person’s direction and stare weirdly into the distance for a while. It’s probably fine.]

She spends some time hanging around the ring toss, doing her best to play with the… not-really-rings for a while before seeming to lose interest, in favor of wandering off to gently hassle the wildlife and get people’s attention to chat. Also to see whether any of the petting zoo animals will let her get close enough to touch them, though, frankly, she won’t be insulted if they seem put off by the smell of wolf.
Inevitably, she also ends up spending some time hanging around the food. She’s aware enough of the other partygoers not to hog it, but, listen. This close after the full moon, she’s pretty damn hungry.]

She's also walking along the beach, picking up shells. She's pretty glad the Clothing Mountain exists, otherwise she'd be cold. She thinks maybe she could make something with the shells--necklaces, little charms, she doesn't know. They're pretty, though.
And later on, she's near the campfires again, with a slice of pizza in hand. Pizza. It's been so long since she had pizza. She's also got a cup of Muffet's alcohol, which. It'll be fine! (It won't, she has a terrible tolerance.) But either way, she's actually enjoying the evening. There are a lot of positive emotions all around for once, which is nice. ]

Cliche, but it's true.
Shiro hasn't had so much Earth food in a very long time. Or, just food that wasn't goo, so he's taking advantage of it. He doesn't take a whole lot, because there are plenty of other people to feed, but he takes a seat by the campfires to eat.
He stays there, though, for most of the evening. He does take walks along the beach every so often, but later at night....
Well. He has some of that blackberry alcohol. And it's delicious. That's pretty dangerous, but surely nothing will come of it! ]

That said, she can be found near the ring toss absolutely throwing those things much too hard and being forced to retrieve them from the ocean. Occasionally, she'll also be found near the campfire with a cup of alcohol in hand. But the real attraction here is the food, also known as Beau Has Never Had A Pizza Before. Meaning at first she's just staring at it, trying to puzzle how to consume this thing or what it's even made out of, before she takes a piece and rolls the entire thing up like it's some sort of pinwheel before holding it in both hands and ripping off a section with her teeth.
She looks very starry eyed about the entire experience, though. Maybe stop her from taking an entire pie.]

He spends a lot of time sitting by the campfires, a drink in hand- though oft a non-alcoholic one, unless he's got something to eat. He can also be seen sheepishly circling the petting zoo, trying to make it look like he doesn't want to be incredibly involved but wanting to get in there and figure out what that incredibly large bird is. And finally, he's at the food, because guess what big bad grim reaper is unaware what a pizza is. It's this guy. He spends probably far too much time idly picking at items next to it until he sees someone come by, take a slice, and eat it properly, causing him to quickly follow suit so he doesn't look like an absolute rube.
He still looks kind of weird, especially if he seems to be very intent on watching you eat a piece of pizza, for some reason. Sorry, everyone. He's actually trying to cause the least amount of friction, for once.]

OTA
(Legion cannot partake of delights such as food or alcohol, but they can enjoy the petting zoo ... provided that the animals don't get nervous about their mechanical nature, or attempt to peck at, bite or steal their shiny bits. Hopefully none of those things will happen.
Right now, they're trying to pet a tigerlily.)
Campfires
(They do not attempt to draw attention to themselves, observing from the shadows and occasionally listening to a particularly unusual or interesting conversation or story.
That said, even when not drawing attention to themselves, that flashlight eyes makes them quite noticeable. Perhaps you caught them eavesdropping?)

WEDDING CEREMONY
And when everybody's eyes are on Lup, she speaks.]
Yo, listen up folks! We've come here today not only to throw a baller party, but also - a baller wedding! Oh shit, that's right! Local hot stuff Laurent and beefy boy supreme Damen are gonna tie the knot!
To seal the deal, they'll have to beat a series of challenges to prove their worthiness, before they face the biggest of challenges - that sweet sweet matrimony!
[And she starts up a round of applause, hopping off the table to give the happy couple and special guest star the Storyteller the floor.]

WEDDING RECEPTION
If anyone else has music or whatever else vaguely wedding-appropriate to contribute, please do! She's not gonna stand here all night! Let's keep this party going!!]
closed to lup
It ends before she relaxes too much and she quickly pushes herself up, shaking the sand out of her hair and poncho like a messy dog. Her arms go into the air and she waves to get Lup's attention, complete with a Hey, hey! in case she somehow misses this nightmare on the shoreline. "That was-you made all those pretty noises! That's another talent you have. You did a good job."
