[OPEN LOG]
WHO: Terra and OPEN
WHAT: Thunderstorm Stuffs!
WHEN: 9/23
WHERE: Various, ending at Islet 1
WARNING: Excessive Cuteness
Though Terra could smell the moisture in the air indicating that it would rain later, she didn't know -when- and she certainly didn't know how hard. For the better part of the morning, she was exploring the islets, hoping to find something useful, whether it was some wood, fruit or even a prey animal to hunt and catch. However, she was caught fully unprepared for when the storm actually hit, and got caught in the sudden downpour. The heavy rainfall, the growling thunder and flashes of lightning found Terra making a hasty sprint for the nearest mana pool, hair and clothing quickly getting drenched.
Fortunately once she popped through the mana pool with her belongings, she wasn't that far from the shack she had claimed. Islet occupants may be aware of the green haired lass running away from the mana pool towards one of the shacks- though some of her fruit may have fallen out of her bag in the process. Once she was safely home, the door wasn't quite completely closed in her haste to get inside. She'd shut it sooner or later, but first, she wanted to try to dry off. And maybe try to plug some of the leaks in her home so she wouldn't get rained on. As it was her first thunderstorm, she was a bit at a loss and uneasy, but things could be worse, right?

These Melons are Pretty Wet
Well, fishing was definitely out of the question for today. He had even woken up early in hopes of getting a better haul today. Nope.
He had collected his stuff and was jogging back to the makeshift cottages when he saw the green-hair girl run on the other end. He had seen her on the island before, but Noctis tended to keep to himself. He had wanted to stay as low key as possible here.
Still, even in the down pour, he couldn't help but notice the pieces of fruit falling from her satchel. Food was a precious commodity on the island, and he wasn't about to let someone go without.
Soaked to the bone, and starting to feel the harsh winds, Noctis jogged his way and scooped up the trail of fruit until he got to her door step. The door was slightly ajar so he reached in and gave a knock.
"Um. Sorry. You dropped something."
Wet Melons Make Baby Mog Cry
The knock startles her, and she initially starts to back away from the door warily, glancing up to see someone just as drenched as she was. And with the fruit she had dropped.
"O-oh..!" She got to her feet, "Um...thank you." She hesitated a second, before reaching out to take the fruit, "... do you want to come in?" He could dry off and hopefully by then this storm would be over. Though she felt like she'd have to start a fire to warm the both of them off - they were like a pair of drenched rats.
Re: Wet Melons Make Baby Mog Cry
He stood there for a few second. "Um, I'm Noctis. I've seen you before, but you know. . ." Or she didn't. "Getting caught in this really sucks, doesn't it?"
no subject
She jumped a little at the crash of thunder in the distance, and she grimaced a little, about to rub her arm - though as wet as she was that wasn't advisable. "This is the first time I've experienced a thunderstorm. I was caught a little off guard by how quickly it started raining."
no subject
Still, even he had seen a thunderstorm.

Then again, she only knows how to be frank with her responses. "No, that's not it...exactly. I just.. the only place I remember was much colder. Snowy." But she didn't think she was "from" that place either. "..are you cold? I can make a fire.." They might be out of the wind, but the dampness was making her a little chilly still.
no subject
"A fire is a good idea. You need help with it?" They were inside a tiny shack though. "It's going to be okay in here though? With the smoke?"

... Apologies if you accidentally bump into him, Terra. He is still short.

"!!" Whoops! she skids to a stop abruptly, almost dropping her pack, "Oh! .. Mickey - I'm sorry, I almost ran into you!" Literally.

Aside from. Y'know. The rain.

Mind she'll keep walking with him towards the mana pool, because stopping to talk in a downpour was silly.

[She then heads out, carrying another one to give to Terra, and knocks on her door. Hopefully, a little bit of rain protection will be better than nothing, at least.]
no subject
Oh..! Hello Muffet... Can I help you with something? [ What's that thing she's got? ]
no subject
Hello, dearie. I noticed you were having some trouble with the rain, and I thought I might give you something to help with it next time. You see, I've been experimenting with using various materials to weave with, and I've discovered that one can turn a palm frond into a rather useful umbrella.
[And, although she won't embarrass Terra by saying it, she remembers that she didn't seem to like wearing things on her head when she was figuring out that mole hat. So it might be good for her to have a way to keep the water off without having to resort to a rain hood or similar methods.]
no subject
Ohh..! Are you sure you want to give it to me? [ She's never even seen an umbrella like that before. Or ever. People pretty much just dealt with the rain apparently. She's also grateful for the discretion. The palm fronds also remind her of something. ]
Do you think leaves like that would be good to stop up leaks? Like the one in the roof?
no subject
[It may be a worrying sign when someone who used to live underground knows more about how to deal with the weather than you do. She holds it out for her to take.]
Oh, yes, palm fronds can make a very good building material if woven together properly, they're quite useful. I wouldn't recommend going out to gather any right at the moment, considering the weather, but I can show you how to add some once it passes.
no subject
I'd like that. [ She has a new goal! Start gathering palm fronds to work on her little shack. Well, gather the fronds first so Muffet can SHOW her how to weave them in order to work on her shack. Baby steps. ]
Thank you again, Muffet. Is there anything I can do for you in return?
[ She's quickly gotten the grasp of how life worked here - a community helping each other out. It was nice. ]

Wrapping sounds good to me!
After the Storm: Locked to Noctis, Prompto and Ignis
Honestly she hadn't -meant- to fall asleep, let along scoot so close to Noctis, but the storm had a surprisingly lulling effect on Terra, who already hadn't been sleeping well. The somewhat soothing sound of rain and an the curiously pleasant presence of a new friend had gotten her to relax enough that she did in fact, drift off after she had exhausted her conversation skills. And to be fair, at first she had been resting with a respectable space between herself and Noctis, but the more relaxed she got in her sleep, the more she ended up leaning until she was resting against Noctis' shoulder.
... she's also in his spare set of clothes, which is slightly big on her, but rather cute at the same time.
no subject
There was a point when he had felt her lean against him. It has only stirred him a bit, but Noctis couldn't find it in him to disturb her for any reason. So instead he just drifted back. The clothing he wore now mostly dry, and his sweet jacket hugging his bare shoulders.
Completely unaware of the storm passing and the day changing.
no subject
Of course, they didn't know exactly where to look, but he figured he could check on some of the homes around them first and make sure people came out okay. There was Laurent and Nyx, and... Terra. Finding out that she was on the same islet as them had been pretty exciting. Laurent and Nyx could take care of themselves, he should make sure that Terra wasn't wet or cold!
With that in mind, he trotted over to Terra's shack, hesitantly peeking in and ready to turn away should there be anything indecent. The ground was sopping wet and squished under his feet, a series of squelching noises following his steps.
"H-Hey, Terra. Are you okay?"
After the briefest of glances just to make sure it was okay to look, and a moment to register what he'd seen, he almost found himself looking again just to make sure his eyes weren't lying.
"Whoa, Noct..."
What are you doing there, buddy?
no subject
Once the rain stops, though, Ignis doesn't hesitate to follow Prompto out on his search. After all, he's the one who has the healing skills at his beck and call. Should anyone need them, he wants to be there, not houses away in need of being fetched.
Still, the rain has made the once familiar ground unfamiliar again with its sogginess. As a result, he trails behind Prompto, only making it to Terra's shack in time hear Prompto's confused statement.
Ignis pauses at the blonde's side, concern crossing his face, "What is it? Prompto, can you please describe what you're seeing?"
How else is he going to know what needs to be done to help?
no subject
Still, she tenses in her sleep the moment she senses a change in her surroundings subconsciously, furrowing her brow first and then coming more alert at the familiar voice. "Mm, Prompto? Ignis?" She blinked a few times, trying to shake the sleepiness out.
And then realizing she was leaning on someone, and that Noctis had been keeping her company while they waited out the rain, she glanced over to him, having the decency to be at least a little sheepish, "Oh... I'm sorry." She scooted away a bit, glancing back over to Prompto and Ignis when it dawned on her- "Oh..! It's stopped raining?" It certainly didn't sound like it was raining.
... totally oblivious to any problems here. There weren't any problems right?
no subject
Also, Ingnis's voice? Totally normal. A girl's voice, not so much. For that split second he completely forgot where he was napping and what happened. But, not anymore. Everything came rushing back, and he could understand why maybe his friends would be a bit surprised.
"It's fine," he told Terra, standing up, and rubbing his eyes. Don't blush. Don't blush.
His shirt from the other night was definitely dry not and he snagged it. "You can huh, just bring those back when you're done with them okay?" He was referring to his clothes that she was wearing of course.
He shot a look at Prompto. One of "don't." Whatever he was thinking of saying at that moment. No. Just don't, friend. There was definitely some flush across his chest, more so, than his face.
