[CLOSED] Blunt Force Trauma
Who: Doctor Faust (
wanderingdoctorfaust), Ginko (
onegreeneye), Legion (
forwearemany), and Yukio Okumura (
reflash)!
What: Faust doesn't know the Creeper dance
When: Backdated to November 4th
Where: The Ensō Clinic & Infirmary (located on square B6)
Warnings: Violence, gore, injury and injury care - additional CWs will be marked as necessary!
It's well into the afternoon when the unmistakable din of an explosion going off ripples across the eastern side of Ensō like a shockwave, in of itself quite alarming, but perhaps not entirely unexpected per se - the Creepers have already had many hours to distribute themselves across the island, and several unlucky individuals have probably had some very close shaves with the horrible creatures already.
Unfortunately, a quick gaze upon the horizon will reveal ground zero of this latest Creeper detonation...and it's right in front of the clinic, a small crater sitting right outside of what is left of the doorway, the menacing hole in the ground still visibly smoking even from a distance. A worryingly large chunk of the building's exterior has been lost in the explosion, large piles of singed dirt flung carelessly aside and leaving the entire entryway looking more akin to an excavation site than the front door of a makeshift medical facility. Here's hoping nobody got hurt...
--EARLIER--
The workday has been remarkably quiet thus far, almost dead silent outside of the good doctor's upbeat humming and occasional reminder of how much he appreciates young Ginko and young Yukio's vigilant efforts in maintaining the facilities. The peace lasts for the entirety of the morning and then some, before Faust suddenly steps outside of the storage room mid-stock check, mumbling to himself about hearing something outside. Whatever is actually being said quickly becomes indecipherable once he's outside, though the tiniest hint of confusion continues filtering through the doorways of the clinic for a while longer.
Until he suddenly stops mid-sentence, shrill voice replaced by the muffled hissing of a very disgruntled force of nature. There's barely any time for Faust to get a foot back in the door, and-!
"GINKO-!!!"
-he is cut off by the ear-shattering cacophony of the Creeper's destructive force, a pandemonium of dirt bricks being obliterated, straw roofing going up in flames, and what sounds horrifyingly similar to a human body being hurled against a wall with cringe-inducing amounts of force.
Whatever Faust was going to say before has been lost to the ruckus - worse still, now that the external walls have finished audibly collapsing, it's eerily silent. If not for the intense scent of sulphur now abruptly present in the air, it'd be almost as if nothing had happened at all...

cw, unsanitary... feeding
He grabs a randomly-selected pastry from the box, and bites a piece off while he tugs Faust's mouth open with a hand on his chin. That Faust reacts to the smell of food is, at least, reassuring, even if the lack of recognition is not - but he doesn't seem to be in any state to actually chew. So, after a couple moments of chewing, Ginko leans over to transfer the bite of pastry into Faust's mouth before repeating the process. It might not be the most elegant solution possible, but it's about all they've got.

Regardless, with the power of Muffet's magically-infused baked goods and Yukio's healing boost, the restorative effect is nearly immediate: Small flecks of burnt dirt start popping out of the various injuries and landing beside the good doctor's body, blood begins slowly flowing back into the most traumatic of his wounds, and the edges of his scorched torso start beginning to blister.
"...w...wuh...?"
It's a little unsettling, watching the streak of crimson rapidly trailing back up Faust's chin and leading back into his mouth as his lips make a more concentrated attempt at producing words, the glassy sheen fading from his eyes as they start moving of their own volition. It takes a second or so longer than with his injuries, but eventually recognition and focus start to appear in Faust's eyes.
And are then immediately cut off by his entire expression turning in on itself with a sharp wince. His only functional arm starts moving, hand attempting to grasp his torso in a purely instinct-driven attempt to diagnose his own wounds.
"...g...in...ko, w...what...?"
The good doctor can barely whisper above the agony in his voice. Is he asking about what has happened to him, or is he demanding to know why he's now awake for it?

Faust-
(But whatever they were going to say cuts off. A Creeper is approaching.
BOOM
The Widow is louder than any gun shooting bullets the size of a grain of sand should be. The Creeper is blown to pieces in an instant.
Faust-Doctor is being treated. Perhaps for now, they should focus entirely on their task.)

Ginko-san, don't let him move.

Don't try to move around, alright? Yukio's treating you.

Even with all the fresh vitality flowing through his veins, it's a battle for the good doctor to even so much as conjure up his awareness, let alone actually think. It's a monumental task alone just to realise that the piercing screeches of munitions being fired probably means he's in the middle of a battle...and with his closest friends out in the open like this, that would mean they could get hurt, and he can't-
"...in...si...de...not...safe...out...here...!"
The good news is that his torso's injuries have finished coughing up any remaining foreign bodies formerly embedded within them, the only blood left on his person is thickly stained into what's left of his attire, and nearly all of the burned areas have been sheathed in an ugly array of dull orange blisters. The bad news is the final few steps of these processes are becoming far slower, magically-amplified hyperactive metabolism only capable of doing so much for injuries that would otherwise kill a man in minutes.
This, in of itself, would not inherently constitute bad news, if not for the fact that all the commotion appears to have attracted several members of the local Creeper populace. It's unclear whether it's the initial explosion or the Widow's reports or even just the scent of a fresh victim that is to blame for the sudden influx of unwanted guests, but regardless, it's going to become rapidly apparent to Legion that they don't have the ammunition stocked for this.
Well, if they keep trading one round for one Creeper, that is.
"...gin...ko, yu...kio...go...now...!"
Faust's only functioning hand finds Ginko's wrist and buries its nails into the skin, the good doctor's brown eyes opening just enough to shoot him an icy glare that would make his normally bag-bound expressions of contempt look kind and gentle in comparison.
This is not a request. It will never be a request. Do not throw your lives away trying to save him, damn it...!

They chatter, loud and alarmed, as they do their best to line up shots. They destroy many Creepers, but it will not be sufficient.
Their allies are in danger.
"Alert! Insufficient ammunition! Direct engagement required!"
And with that, they fire their last shot and charge forward, summoning their combat drone to assist in distraction as they wield their gun like a club.

"Ginko-san. Get more of that food in him, and get out of here. Try and find somewhere safe. Keep his spine in alignment and try to keep those blisters intact."
Yukio has nothing on him but claws and fangs and his throwing knife. And all of those things require letting the creatures get too close for comfort.
OOF sorry for the wait on this
Yukio's order, though, is far more acceptable. Ginko knows perfectly well that he's not going to be much help with the creepers, but moving Faust is something he can do... even if it might be a little difficult to do so with any grace, given Faust's height. He'll figure something out.
"Got it. Eat this, Faust." He grabs another pastry from the box, this time tearing a piece off to put directly into Faust's mouth. He should be able to chew now, at least, even if he's reluctant to try and put too much into his mouth at once just yet - and he’ll have some time to eat that while Ginko, carrying the remainder of the pastry between his teeth, maneuvers to get his arms under Faust’s and around his chest. Picking Faust up entirely seems far too risky under the circumstances, and he doesn’t have anything to lay him on, so he’ll have to settle for dragging him - and be glad that the blistering seems to be largely confined to his front, so keeping him on his back shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Once he’s got a good hold on Faust, he glances up at Yukio again, and over at Legion. “Be careful, alright? Let me know once you’re safe.”

As it turns out though, Faust is remarkably light in spite of his sheer height, and Ginko will encounter little resistance as he drags the semi-conscious Deputy Medical Director away from ground zero of this entire mess. Meanwhile, Legion's shift to melee combat has gotten the attention of nearly every Creeper currently present on the premises, ensuring the medivac of the area will go off without further complications.
The question now, is how long can Legion hold off a large group of highly volatile monsters alone?
no subject
It can only exist for a few seconds at a time, but Legion makes good use of those seconds.
BOOM
Several creepers go after the drone, and thus, several creepers are taken out when one finally decides to explode.
A few go after Legion instead, but so far, they're doing a pretty good job of attacking and then moving out of range.
They will not be able to keep this up forever, but they're going to ensure their allies are safe.
