Who: Hector and the Ryslig crew
What: Hector would rather not be left alone with no body.
When: Way backdated to August 24
Where: the Ryslig cottage
Warnings: disembodied skulls, v spooky
After calling his housemates, it doesn’t take too long for Ginko to get himself and Hector to the monsters’ shared cottage - it’s really just a trip to the mana pool away, after all.
He lets out a breath of relief when he steps inside, out of the morning sun that’s already starting to weigh on him, prickling at his neck and hands where his skin is exposed. “Hey. Any preference for where to sit, Hector?”
Not that they have a lot of seating, but, whatever.

The trick is to act casual, cheerful and peppy, until it becomes real. However long it takes. A bit of mania in his tone is much better than panic! They can't do anything for him, there's no need to rub it in their faces.
"...you live here, Ginko, don't let me boot you out."

He is already concerned about Hector, but not a lot he can do for the man. Not right now, anyway. He's holding the comparison--robots and skeletons--in reserve, but wuld it be more or less helpful to say it? Even he has no idea, so he's erring on the side of caution.
"No one is being booted out. Though I don't know why Ginko is offering to go when it's daylight. I'm right here, you know." His sense of humour has not actually gotten any less dry over time.

He casts Hector('s head) another quick glance before seemingly deciding something very abruptly and standing to head into his room and rummaging around for something.

Frankly, he kind of wishes they could have stayed on the nickname thing longer, if this is where else the conversation is going to go. He shrugs dismissively, tugging at his dumb protective poncho. "It's not like I'm going out unprotected."
Shit he wishes saying where he's actually going wouldn't be like storming into a minefield.

"Are you telling me this whole time sunshine has been bad for you? You never said that, Ginko. What's it do to you?"

His attention is reclaimed by the ongoing conversation, however, and--
"You didn't know?"
The surprise on his face is so immediate as to precede the actual words out of his mouth, and it turns to reproach and finally something that Ginko better hope is amusement as he turns to look at the troll.
"Ginko...."
He doesn't finish the thought, just shakes his head, fine gold hairs falling forward over his shoulders.

(Though his tired smirk might give hint to it.)

His tail thumps against the floor, but he holds Hector steady as he addresses him; the irritation has drained from his voice again. "It makes me tired, basically. It can get pretty bad if I'm exposed to too much, but that's about it."

"Be...cause we don't want you to feel like garbage?" When will you learn, Ginko, people give a damn.
