Who Keeps Spinning the World Around?

The morning of June 17th, you'll probably notice things are amiss rather quickly. Your hands aren't your hands, or you're no longer in a squishy human flesh shape, or worse. Maybe your Lawful Good persona has plummeted into an outright Chaotic Evil one. Or maybe you wake up with a brand new power in your hands! Whatever the case is, no explanation is going to be immediately forthcoming, from Eleu or the Storyteller or anyone else. You'll have to figure out this mess on your own.

Adjust to your new circumstances, master your new powers, and do what you can to make it through the next few days...because they're going to be some very interesting ones, for certain.

Catch Me If You Can!

Come June 20th, whether you're back to normal selves or not, Eleu has a job for you. A request, even. They're going to need your help to take care of this little problem and put a stop to all this absolute madness.

Those interested in helping can get in touch with any of the honeybees buzzing anxiously about Io, and they will redirect you to the Honeycomb, which has now been provided with several barrels of Honeycomb Sledgehammers for your use. You don't have to take one if you don't need it, but they make a very powerful weapon. Additionally, Eleu will take care to assure that, in exchange for your help, you may keep the Sledgehammer, if you so choose.

Those interested in assisting may access our boss fight at its top-level below. This is a single thread with no order, but anyone may participate, regardless of their current state of being. Don't worry about how you contribute, or tag speed. Anyone who's concerned about being left out is welcome to reach out to us to handwave or backtag their involvement, if necessary!

The Clown Box is going to put up a fight, though. And it's not going to be pretty.

[Even though she nodded her head in a way that might make him think she's about to do some kind of arcane, powerful spell to feel him-

She doesn't do anything. She just stares at him, unblinking and silent, but he can probably sense the building anxiety at how she can't feel anything, the fear that she's missing something- that's he's wrong and they're wasting valuable running time.]

It just happens. I don't have to do anything, but it's not working-I can't hear you anymore.

[Unfortunately, that all but confirms it. She has no spell to activate it, no symbols or enchantment, and he can almost feel the sweat on his neck as he sighs out a shaky sort of exhale trying to hold it together.]

Okay. So, uhm. This is going to sound really, really weird, but I need you to understand that this thing? You're describing? People cannot do that. In fact, none of us can do that. Except... I can, right now. And you can't. Do you know what that means?

[Please understand this Ren, even if he knows she likely won't.]

[It's easy to tell from her blank expression that it hasn't quite hit yet. It's only as she keeps staring at him, his hair slowly lifting over his head, twisting together like there's a small tornado forming over his skull that she-

Starts to make the connection. Draws some lines and changes some lightbulbs and-

Then a huge smile crosses her face at the sudden realization that this isn't a ghost and he can hear her heart.

And boy oh boy can he probably hear, feel, that happiness just slam into him.]

You can hear it! Just like Seto-you can feel my heart too now!

I looted your power? That's why your hair's weird?

[It's not that he thinks Ren is stupid- he knows she's quite brilliant, in her own way. The only problem with it is her thought process is not even remotely on the same level as his, and it makes figuring out her logic and what will read clearly to her difficult for him to parse. He's coping with this by just staying as still as he's able, even as Ren seems content to just wrap his hair around itself in a way he knows is going to knot terribly.

At least her smile brings a sigh of relief, a knowledge that he doesn't need to press technical terms any further.]

Yes. And I yours, it seems. This is the ability I used to, uhm, draw all those leaves to me, or to make your toys move. I simply think you are latching on to anything without much control.

[And since she gets it, he's going to start trying to get his hair to sit down thank you very much. Just because he has dreads doesn't mean he wants them to be all grungy and tangled, okay.]

And ah... I can feel things. I mean, more than just my feelings. I believe them to be yours as well.

[Absol-fucking-lutely she is and telling her that doesn't seem to change anything at all, except make her focus go elsewhere. It's easier to pick his dreads apart, but now there are leaves. Quite a few of them, coming up to the feet of a suddenly delighted girl and her unfortunate uncle.

If he looks down, he has new leaf shield shoes and that's amazing.]

If you can feel my heart, you should go feel other ones too. Taako's and Lup's are very warm. You can sit by them and it feels very nice.

[Okay, well. There are only so many things he can handle simultaneously, so those leaf shoes are just there now. Instead, his brain locks in on the other thing Ren says, and he tries not to panic a little about it.]

Uhm-- no, that's. That's quite alright. I don't think I should be, ah, feeling anything they don't want me to. Feel.

[This is going to be so much, he can already feel it along with all of the other things he's managed to feel in the last 5 minutes.]

Perhaps I should teach you how to control that ability before we go and do anything else.

You don't want to? You can say 'Hi, I want to feel your heart' and they'll stare at you and say 'Okay, pumpkin.'

[Also she doesn't NEED to have power lessons thanks. Leaf shoes are suddenly out and leaf hat is very in, as her gaze shifts from his feet or to his head. That's all it takes it lose control and her sporadic attention span is going to be a problem for this poor reaper. Not that it usually isn't. Just today in particular is going to be tiring.]

I can control it. It's okay.

[He knows they're saying okay because they didn't think this existed!! There was nothing that said this was a legitimate thing. Meanwhile, Ren is just having a grand ol time, and her lack of fear is at least calming him down. Maybe he can just process this later. Or never! That sounds like a great idea let's do never.]

Just-- be gentle not to overextend yourself. If you use it too much you'll be very tired. And there will be things you can't move, so. If it hurts, don't continue. At least promise me that.

[What if he just lies on his face for the rest of this, he's thinking that's a real good idea.]

[Because while empathy ridden Kravitz might have this sage wisdom for her, coupled with a desire to just Not be around the other members of their party right now-

Ren, apparently, only heard of some of that, and needs to test how much she really can't move.]

Where's Uncle Taako?

[Of course. Of course she is doing this. And you know what? For once, Kravitz is just-- he's just gonna let her. This is No Longer His Problem, and he doesn't have the energy to make it such. So he just sighs, runs a hand though his hair, and points with his free hand.]

Back at camp. Likely fixing breakfast. He knows how to swim, so you can throw him in the ocean.

[He's a betrayer and Ren will tell him he said this, but he just. Needs this. He needs something rn okay.]

[She's fucking gone. Busts outta there like a rocket and Kravitz might hear her frantic voice on the iStone as she tries to call Uncle Taako, Uncle Taako-you have to stay there.

One day Kravitz will pay for this crime, but it won't be today and Ren's not the loanshark that's gonna collect on debt.]
