JUNE EVENT: CHAOS, CHAOS!

Where: Primarily Io, though also across Ensō and the islets if applicable
Warnings: Violence, possible body horror, potential anxiety and dysmorphia associated with body-swapping

Who Keeps Spinning the World Around?

The morning of June 17th, you'll probably notice things are amiss rather quickly. Your hands aren't your hands, or you're no longer in a squishy human flesh shape, or worse. Maybe your Lawful Good persona has plummeted into an outright Chaotic Evil one. Or maybe you wake up with a brand new power in your hands! Whatever the case is, no explanation is going to be immediately forthcoming, from Eleu or the Storyteller or anyone else. You'll have to figure out this mess on your own. Adjust to your new circumstances, master your new powers, and do what you can to make it through the next few days...because they're going to be some very interesting ones, for certain.

Catch Me If You Can!

Come June 20th, whether you're back to normal selves or not, Eleu has a job for you. A request, even. They're going to need your help to take care of this little problem and put a stop to all this absolute madness.

Those interested in helping can get in touch with any of the honeybees buzzing anxiously about Io, and they will redirect you to the Honeycomb, which has now been provided with several barrels of Honeycomb Sledgehammers for your use. You don't have to take one if you don't need it, but they make a very powerful weapon. Additionally, Eleu will take care to assure that, in exchange for your help, you may keep the Sledgehammer, if you so choose. Those interested in assisting may access our boss fight at its top-level below. This is a single thread with no order, but anyone may participate, regardless of their current state of being. Don't worry about how you contribute, or tag speed. Anyone who's concerned about being left out is welcome to reach out to us to handwave or backtag their involvement, if necessary!

The Clown Box is going to put up a fight, though. And it's not going to be pretty.

[Dealing with firehands is enough to keep anyone's focus off a song, so she gets it. Doesn't protest when he says he can't because it's unlikely that'll distract him enough when it hurts that bad.

But, she doesn't want to leave him alone, when every passing second is a chance he could get hurt and even if she can't help-

I don't think I should be around anyone for that long. Not when I could just - set them on fire without thinking about it.

It's okay. I know how to stay safe, so you don't have to worry about that kind of thing.

[Because Kravitz's fancy powers mean she can make shields out of rocks or something, if she has to, and also she can run just so fast. That's the deal.]

I don't know how to stay safe. Not from this.

[If he self-immolates, he doesn't want anyone to see it - let alone Ren.]

That's why-if I stay with you, we can call someone to come help.

[Someone who likes and knows how to deal with fire, preferably.]

[We. Like she's gonna be able to fix anything. Like anyone here can. Short of drowning him - ]

Maybe someone can. If we find the person that belongs to, they can help.

[It's better than letting him get hurt out here. Anything's better than that.]

I've been looking. I just dunno if I wanna go...near anyone's house like this.

[Not when he's frying trees with a look without meaning to.]

Well, she remembers what his shadow said, but it's not like he's doing this on purpose. He can't control it. He can't call anyone. He can't do anything.

She really doesn't want to leave him, but-]

Will you be lonely if I leave?

[He doesn't know. Always feels like he is, in some ways, set apart, but he's not, really. Is he? There are people here who know him. Who know what it's like to be...him.]

[For better or worse, they know him.]

I'm not very good at finding people, but I'll look for a very long time. Until someone says 'I miss my fire.'

[But her main concern is the man in front of her-a person she doesn't want to leave on the beach alone.]

We can go together. You can come with me.

You don't have to stay with me, Ren.

[Doesn't she have anything better to do than make sure he doesn't implode under the pressure of his own anxiety - now compounded by the fact that he is, perpetually, on fucking fire?]

I don't want you to be alone.

[Unfortunately for him, she's a free elf that does what she wants and what she wants to do right now is keep him safe.

Even though she can't do a dang thing about it.]

I'm always alone.

[That came out...darker than he meant it to.]

I just mean - I'm used to it. It's okay.

[There's a difference between being used to it and having to. She could stay here or drag him along-he doesn't have to be by himself. It's not like she isn't used to it either, but she would never willingly choose to be alone again.]

If we're both looking, we'll find them quicker.

If we split up, we'll find them quicker too.

[That's logic, Ren. Still want to have both of you be looking?]

[First of all, how dare he use actual logic on her? And secondly, well, maybe they can sort of compromise here.]

We can meet back here-if we don't find them by the time the stars come out.

[That's probably the closest they're gonna get. Tim sighs, reaches up to run a hand through his hair - then remembers that his hands are burning, and he probably shouldn't, and stops.]

[And with that, she immediately turns on her heel and starts running across the sandy shore back towards a mana pool to go to the islets maybe? Either way, she's about to disappear into the woods when-

She abruptly turns back around, waves her hand and yells-]

Don't forget! We have to meet here! Right here!

[I'm not going anywhere, he doesn't say. That feels a bit too defeatist.]

All right. I'll come back here when the stars do. [He doesn't say I promise, because he knows better than to promise anything. Not when he's a liar.]

[But the sentiment, this time, is sincere.]

[It feels like a victory, somehow, but it'll be better once she finds original fire hands over here. Who is it? She has no idea.

She does smile before disappearing into the woods. There's not a chance she'll find them, but she's sure gonna try.]
