June Event: Chaos, Chaos!

JUNE EVENT: CHAOS, CHAOS!
Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: It's just a little chaos...
When: June 17th - June 22nd
Where: Primarily Io, though also across Ensō and the islets if applicable
Warnings: Violence, possible body horror, potential anxiety and dysmorphia associated with body-swapping
Who Keeps Spinning the World Around?

The morning of June 17th, you'll probably notice things are amiss rather quickly. Your hands aren't your hands, or you're no longer in a squishy human flesh shape, or worse. Maybe your Lawful Good persona has plummeted into an outright Chaotic Evil one. Or maybe you wake up with a brand new power in your hands! Whatever the case is, no explanation is going to be immediately forthcoming, from Eleu or the Storyteller or anyone else. You'll have to figure out this mess on your own.
Adjust to your new circumstances, master your new powers, and do what you can to make it through the next few days...because they're going to be some very interesting ones, for certain.
Catch Me If You Can!

Come June 20th, whether you're back to normal selves or not, Eleu has a job for you. A request, even. They're going to need your help to take care of this little problem and put a stop to all this absolute madness.

Those interested in helping can get in touch with any of the honeybees buzzing anxiously about Io, and they will redirect you to the Honeycomb, which has now been provided with several barrels of Honeycomb Sledgehammers for your use. You don't have to take one if you don't need it, but they make a very powerful weapon. Additionally, Eleu will take care to assure that, in exchange for your help, you may keep the Sledgehammer, if you so choose.
Those interested in assisting may access our boss fight at its top-level below. This is a single thread with no order, but anyone may participate, regardless of their current state of being. Don't worry about how you contribute, or tag speed. Anyone who's concerned about being left out is welcome to reach out to us to handwave or backtag their involvement, if necessary!

The Clown Box is going to put up a fight, though. And it's not going to be pretty.
Event Timeline
[ ♆ ] June 17th: Chaos begins!
[ ♆ ] June 21st: On the eve of the final battle, Storytelling commences.
[ ♆ ] June 22nd: Characters confront the Clown Box, and all parties return to normal.
[ ♆ ] June 25th: All parties become privy to the final outcome involving the Clown Box.

Jules' forehead wrinkled again. Yeah, of course he was Dagger. Who the hell else would he be? And then it seemed to click. No claws. No fangs. No mental abilities that he can feel. The wrong skin color. Waking somewhere that's not the monkey nest. Garren here.

"Damn it all to Tophet. I'm not in my own minsid body."

((Nope. No bite marks. Lots of cuts and bruises, but nobody has physically tried to eat me yet!))
triggerhappytraitor: (Garren)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-24 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
With the more obvious hint to who was in his Slammer's body already solidified, the unfamiliar language because familiar, confirming that this indeed was his friend. The tension in Garren's tiny body melted, and he all but threw himself forward to cling to Jules with a fresh, unhappy whail.

Because just because he knew who was in his Slammer's body, he still didn't know where his Slammer was or what had happened!

Jules' automatic paka reflexes kicked in and he caught Garren instantly.

"Easy, little one. It's all going to be okay."

Which did not feel like the case in his mind, but there was no way he would be that honest with Garren. The little dude needed the reassurance that it all would work out perfectly fine.
triggerhappytraitor: (Garren)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-24 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Garren clung tightly before moving to outline the diamond on his chest, looking up with a slight tremble in his tiny frame before pointing to the door.

The bond was still there, his Slammer wasn't that far, but he was far too small and fall too shaken to go looking alone.
suspecteverything: (thinking)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-24 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Tachibana?"

He was pretty sure that's what Garren is getting at, but he wanted to be sure.

"Do you want to look for him?"

It seemed like a logical guess, though Jules had no idea Garren could actually feel where his partner was.
triggerhappytraitor: (Garren)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-24 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
The tiny pog nodded emphatically before pointing to Tachibana's jacket that his Slammer had taken off before going to sleep. The jacket was important. Or rather, the contents of its pockets were Important and not to be left behind, unguarded.
suspecteverything: (oh yeah?)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-25 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Jules glanced at the coat and lifted an eyebrow.

"You think I'm going to get cold?"

Which was possible really. This wasn't his body, so it wouldn't have the resilience to temperature extremes an Andarion one would.
triggerhappytraitor: (Garren)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-25 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Garren shook his head. Even if his Slammer did dislike the cold, it wasn't that cold out! He mimicked putting his hands into pockets before cupping his hands around the buckle of his belt and then pressing his hands close to his chest.
suspecteverything: (bad idea)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-27 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Jules understood miming thanks to having two toddlers, but it was impossible to understand a mime related to powers he didn't know about and definitely didn't understand.

"You lost me, dude."

He picked up the coat anyway and glanced in the pockets out of curiosity.
triggerhappytraitor: (Belt close up)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-27 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Somehow stuffed in the jacket pocket was a buckle and card. Even in its un-activated state, it wasn't too hard to see the similarities between the Buckle in Tachibana's pocket, and the one around Garren's waist.
suspecteverything: (thinking)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-27 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, yeah, still no idea what this means, but I'm guessing it's important and something I should hang on to so it doesn't get lost."

He already knew that Garren and Tachibana were connected somehow, so he wasn't particularly surprised by the similar clothing. The fact that there's a higher meaning than that was lost on him though.
triggerhappytraitor: (Garren)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-27 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Garren nodded emphatically, striking an over dramatic pose for a brief moment before starting to climb up on to Jules-in-Tachibana's-Body's shoulders -- his usual perch.
suspecteverything: (laughing)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-30 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jules snorted. Yeah, okay. Garren could be incredibly easy to read sometimes. He gathered up the coat, tossed it over his free shoulder, and headed out the door.

Hopefully Tachibana was the one in his own body. If it wasn't, well, Jules would be incredibly concerned. He had a lot of power, and it would be very easy to use it in a way that wouldn't be wise, even unintentionally.
triggerhappytraitor: (Garren)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-30 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
It was an advantageous skill to have when you weren't really that much for the whole talking and words thing.

Garren clung tightly, scanning the area before tugging on Jules's shirt and pointing where he should go. His Slammer was still far enough away that he could only barely feel that he was awake and cranky about something (likely not being in his own body, Garren reasoned!) but it was more than enough to be able to locate him.
suspecteverything: (neutral)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-30 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Jules didn't question the tugging and simply followed where Garren was leading him. It took a while, but eventually he started to believe that maybe his hope had actually come true. They were heading in the direction of the monkey nests, Jules' home. If Tachibana really was in his body, that's where he'd be found.
triggerhappytraitor: (Stoic)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-30 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Tachibana indeed was in Jules' home. Or rather, just outside it, looking very cranky and put out because what the hell kind of booby trapped bullshit-- who put a lock on a door that took ten minutes to undo what the hell kind of bullshit infiltration was this and where--

He paused, looking over as he felt Garren nearby. Well, that was one less problem to worry about, at least. The rest of this... he needed a mirror or something to see what the hell he looked at, but was far too aggravated from having to fight with a damned door to even know where to look.

So he, instead, started towards where he could feel Garren from.

With a happy cry, Garren lept off Jules' shoulder, pogmenting to his Jack form and flying the last hundred feet of so between him and his slammer, all but crashing into him with a loud wail and clinging tightly.

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-06-30 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Seeing himself walking toward him was probably the strangest experience Jules has ever had, and he's had some doozies in his life. No matter how hard he tried to wrap his head around it, it was impossible to do. Well, at least it was Tachibana inside his body - Garren's reaction had told him that - and so far Tachibana hadn't managed to burn anything down or blow out his brain. Both really good things in Jules' mind.

For now he just stayed quietly in the background. Tachibana and Garren deserved a minute to reunite before they started dealing with this mess.
triggerhappytraitor: (Looking over)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-06-30 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
If there was one thing Tachibana was skilled in, it was his ability to focus enough on an immediate situation to the exclusion of everything else. ...and that he had experience with fire-based powers also helped in keeping him from burning the forest down this game.

But his focus on soothing poor Garren's upset was interrupted by something that wasn't coming from his Partner. His eyes twitched up and he paused, staring.

"... The hell is going on?" he demanded.

Walking up as another person, he was sort of used to. Walking up as another person, and then encountering yourself... not so much.
suspecteverything: (angry)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-07-02 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, you mean aside from this place playing another one of its game without any warning or explanation? Hell if I know."

While Jules has gotten relatively used to shit like this happening for no reason, it still seriously pissed him off. Not that he could do anything about it. That, however, only pissed him off more.
triggerhappytraitor: (Super serious inner monologue)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-07-02 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Garren, in an attempt to be helpful, quickly began signing to his Slammer, making Jules' sign, then the diamond, then swapping their places.

There was a small, head tilting pause before he pointed to Tachibana's (or rather, Jules') wrist before tapping his own and tilting his head the other way.

Tachibana sighed deeply. "At least the idiot Arcana had some goddamned reason. Or something else was reacting to them being idiots," he muttered.
suspecteverything: (thinking)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-07-06 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Do I even want to know what you're talking about?"

He's really not totally sure. Arcana wasn't a name he knew, but the list of idiots was rather long. He wasn't surprised that one didn't register.
triggerhappytraitor: (Professional Stalker Tachibana Sakuya)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-07-06 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
If Jules were so inclined to check his (or rather, Tachibana's) wrist where Garren had pointed, he might notice the edges of Tachibana's mark showing from behind his watch. Not that it really illuminated much, without any understanding of what it was, as it just looked like a very detailed tattoo.

"The beings from the last place we were. The ones who were playing some sort of game to resurrect one of their own. One of those idiot 'winner gets a world alternating wish' bullshit things," Tachibana scowled. "Any time some weird bullshit like this happened back there, it was either because one of them had a big idea, or something else they'd pissed off was trying to do something."
suspecteverything: (thinking)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-07-07 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Wouldn't be surprised if any of those were the case here, though personally my bet is still on the so called gods here doing this to us just for their own amusement."

That sounded about right from his life experiences. He really wouldn't expect anything else.
triggerhappytraitor: (Determined)

[personal profile] triggerhappytraitor 2019-07-07 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Tachibana's eye twitched slightly as he caught the follow up thought, tension growing in his shoulders. "...goddamnit, is this your damned telepathy? Why the hell...?!"

He could still feel Garren. That his Partner had known right where to find him was proof that they bond was still intact. That should mean that all his powers he picked up Traveling should have been with his mind, not his body, right?
suspecteverything: (oh yeah?)

[personal profile] suspecteverything 2019-07-07 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Is what my telepathy?"

What had he even been thinking about in that moment? Ah, right, his past and the people who'd screwed with him just for fun. Those weren't exactly pleasant memories, and he didn't relish the fact that they'd apparently popped into Tachibana's mind.
