Who Keeps Spinning the World Around?

The morning of June 17th, you'll probably notice things are amiss rather quickly. Your hands aren't your hands, or you're no longer in a squishy human flesh shape, or worse. Maybe your Lawful Good persona has plummeted into an outright Chaotic Evil one. Or maybe you wake up with a brand new power in your hands! Whatever the case is, no explanation is going to be immediately forthcoming, from Eleu or the Storyteller or anyone else. You'll have to figure out this mess on your own.

Adjust to your new circumstances, master your new powers, and do what you can to make it through the next few days...because they're going to be some very interesting ones, for certain.

Catch Me If You Can!

Come June 20th, whether you're back to normal selves or not, Eleu has a job for you. A request, even. They're going to need your help to take care of this little problem and put a stop to all this absolute madness.

Those interested in helping can get in touch with any of the honeybees buzzing anxiously about Io, and they will redirect you to the Honeycomb, which has now been provided with several barrels of Honeycomb Sledgehammers for your use. You don't have to take one if you don't need it, but they make a very powerful weapon. Additionally, Eleu will take care to assure that, in exchange for your help, you may keep the Sledgehammer, if you so choose.

Those interested in assisting may access our boss fight at its top-level below. This is a single thread with no order, but anyone may participate, regardless of their current state of being. Don't worry about how you contribute, or tag speed. Anyone who's concerned about being left out is welcome to reach out to us to handwave or backtag their involvement, if necessary!

The Clown Box is going to put up a fight, though. And it's not going to be pretty.

[It's not okay. Has she been looking for him? Impossible. No one knows what he looks like, which is both a blessing and a goddamn fucking curse. No one should see him like this. No one should know that this is what's happened to him. But also: he'd like this to stop now.]

[Oh my god, this is wild. And she's slowly starting to make the connection between the sudden bodyshifts and the situation in front of her. It would make sense why they're trying to talk to her with nods instead of nyas.]

Are you supposed to be a cat?

[A furious, furious shake of his head. No. No, definitely not. He doesn't want to be, either. He's going to be so disappointed if this forever ruins cats for him, too.]

[Right now, this is officially hell.]

[That solves one issue. Except it doesn't. It solves nothing, except that she realizes this person isn't going to Do Well out in the wild. At least a normal cat would be okay wandering around-a new cat? Nah.]

Where's your house? I can take you back there. It'll be safe in that place.

[Less easy to answer. He could...show her, maybe, or lead her there, but he's not sure he wants to, honestly. He doesn't want anyone knowing that it was him in here unless necessary.]

[He shakes his head again. Sorry, Ren. He'd rather not be known as "Wash the Cat" if he can help it.]

Do you want to come home with me? You can sleep there until you're normal again.

[Because she's got other cats to show him The Ropes and he won't need to worry about surviving in the ye olde wild as a unfamiliar animal.]

[God, how good a idea is that? There's no way to know if people are going to be there, and he can't exactly ask.]

[But what's the alternative?]

[He does his best to lower his head in a nod. If he needs to get out, he will. He's faster in this shape than he ever could be on two legs, at least. That's the one benefit to all this.]

[Fantastic. It's her sacred mission to catch em all and this is one more for the cause, even if it's only temporary.

And it's a little hard to keep herself from automatically reacting like this is a cat and that's the only reason she doesn't immediately pick him up to carry him along.

But she does wiggle her fingers, like she's trying to coerce him into walking with her, before realizing that's unnecessary. Bleh.]

It's very safe there. I'll make you a nice bed.

[He's already regretting this. Yeah, actually, he's changing his mind right this instant. This is bad enough without having a small child fussing over him and considering him a cute little...pet.]

[Apropos of nothing, he fucking bolts in the opposite direction.]

[If they were a normal cat, she'd be, like, completely fine with them ambling off, but-

Away he goes and she can only hope their cat instincts will keep them safe in the coming days. There are other wild cats that'll help him and she can ask EGG and ESP to look if the weather gets bad. But boy oh boy, she's got some concerns. And those concerns make her leave some food out in this area over the next few days, just in case.
