May Adventure: I Want to Go Where Everyone Goes

What: Io appears!
When: May 10th and onward
Where: Io
Warnings: The possibility of drug use and alcohol may come up. Otherwise, tag as you go!

Things Are Shaping Up to Be Pretty Odd
As of May 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to Io. Though you could always opt for sailing, if you wanted. As we mentioned on the island's introductory post, no exploration is necessary! The island is small enough and easily traversed, and with a minimum of dangers, you have plenty of time to visit each of Io's six draws.
The temple is the easiest place to get in touch with the local avatar, though you can contact them just as easily by striking up a conversation with just about any honeybee you see in the vicinity. The lazy drone of them can be heard all over the island, though they're quite complacent, and not at all prone to disturbing adventurers. The temple itself is twined with grapevines and smothered with inlays of rubies, proud and sparkling. Inside, it smells of honey and wine, and seems to exhibit a naturally contented glow. Just outside, numerous fruit trees sprout all about the temple's courtyard, to be sampled at your leisure.
The bathhouses are located just south of the temple, and are prime locations for some rest and relaxation. Bathe, swim, take a spa day! There are innumerable rooms to do exactly that, and more space than be reasonably filled by some sixty-or-seventy people.

For those less keen on mind-altering substances, the tea gardens are a far safer bet. They practically emanate tranquility, with their soft paper lanterns, thickets of tea trees, and a tea room with a seemingly endless supply of every supplement to your drink that you could ask for. And if none of the teabags or tea leaves in there suit your preference, you're free to wander about the gardens yourself and sample whatever you like.
The Honeycomb at the island's heart is much more akin to a play structure or jungle gym than anything else, but its interlocking passageways and erratic, hexagonal architecture aren't for nothing. It's an ideal spot for play or exercise, if you're into that kind of thing - or for getting positively sick on honey sticks.
The campsites ensure that you don't truly have to depart from Io, if you don't want to. Tents full of chairs and cushions and blankets make it a wonderful place to spend the night if you're so inclined, and the lockers full of food and drink are assurances that you won't go hungry. And with all these massive bonfires and firework cannons, why would you ever want to leave?
Welcome to the island of Io! Please, enjoy your stay and make full use of this island's many faculties! For further information in regards to the island, or plotting, the following links may prove handy:

This seems to be a place where things are meant to be enjoyed.
[So you can eat it if you want...]
But no, I do not live here. I'm from a place that I imagine is very far from here.
no subject
Ah, so you're here with the Storyteller and the rest of us then? I didn't imagine someone from one of the other islands had come with us, nor have I ever seen people like we know them on these islands regardless.
[That was a lot of words to mean something very, very simple. He looks back at the apple, trying to think of how to move it, and just transfers it to his left hand so he can hold out his right to shake.]
Kravitz. A pleasure to meet you.
no subject
Genji nods, straightening up so he can return Kravtiz's handshake.]
I'm a part of the flock, yes. I just arrived before this island showed up.
[The handshake is firm. Genji's learned the importance of a good, firm handshake, and even though Kravitz can't see it, there's a smile on his face.]
Genji. A pleasure to meet you as well.
no subject
The flock? That's a description I haven't yet heard.
[To be fair, there's a lot about Genji he hasn't yet seen. It's not as if robots are uncommon or unknown in his world or here, but he doesn't resemble the inhuman way Legion was carefully constructed. He wonders what the case is here. He's certainly more elegant than the robots he knows from his home plane, cobbled together with spare parts and circuitry.]
I must have missed you when you arrived, but new people tend to turn up a lot. I daresay I can't possibly know everyone. Regardless, it seems you picked a good time to arrive.
no subject
Seems appropriate.
[Genji has never not been a little shit, and there might be no preacher here telling them to follow the Storyteller, they're still being watched over by a god.
He lets out an amused chuckle.]
Given what I've heard from everyone, it seems this was the best possible time I could have shown up. This island seems to be a paradise.
no subject
[Anything malicious isn't here. It's nice, for once. He has to assume that whatever would hurt them was driven out, or otherwise being kept at bay. Maybe that's the magic of celebration. He doesn't really have enough knowledge of the subject to say for sure.]
I would enjoy it while you have it, and use the time to get settled. Do you have somewhere to stay on Ensō already?
no subject
[He's really hoping this island doesn't turn out to be a tragedy. He's had his fair share of cleaning up messes, and he doesn't really want to be dealing with things he doesn't quite understand.
Still, no point in being a negative Nancy.]
For the time being, no. I am seeing where the winds might take me.
no subject
At least there are other discussions to be had, even if they're about equally as pleasant.]
I would advise some form of permanent residence, though I suppose for the time being this place will also harbor you. As much as we are all able to live on Enso, it is not without it's dangers.
[He pauses for a second.]
And if you hear the word 'fustercluck', leave. Don't even engage. Just go.
no subject
So I've heard. It seems this place is more wild than what I'm used to, with stranger creatures.
[Most of the threats he's had to face were, well. People. Omnics. Things like that, things that were predictable.]
Dare I ask what a fustercluck is?
[It sounds like there's a story there...]
no subject
They're just-- terrible, horrible, no good very bad blobs. Have you ever met an ooze? They're the worst type.
[Truthfully, Kravitz has no way to describe this thing other than the feelings that ran through his body the first time he saw one and it was being carried through the fucking air. If he's lucky, he will never have to see one ever again, but he also knows he has horrible luck.]
It-- anything it touches it eats through it's skin by dissolving it into acid. Just, just don't even engage. You will get nothing other than hating it and probably yourself.
no subject
And people thought his buddy Mothman was bad.]
I see. Hopefully I will never encounter one during my time here.
[But will he be so lucky?? Probably not. He's probably going to end up killed by a fustercluck at some point.]
no subject
[He's never seen more than one though, thank gods. Just heard rumors. Terrible, terrible rumors.]
If you have any less... gooey questions about the islands, I can also try to answer. I'm afraid I'm not much of a welcoming committee, but I will assist where I can.
no subject
There are a ton of questions he has. How did he get here? To what end was he brought here? Is there a way to leave? What does he do? What can he do? But those are all questions he doubts Kravitz has an answer to, so he settles for something else that he's noticed.]
Do these islands change things? I noticed a symbol on my body, and wondered what it meant.
[He taps his chest, where a sigil has been painted over the characters on his armor.]
no subject
Ah. It's not changed, so much as... compatibility. This world is highly magical, to the point where those of us with other powers have found many of them suppressed. However, in your case, I believe it has something to do with technology.
[How does he explain this... he's no savant, seeing as much of his magic is practically learned instead of studied. But he can make an attempt.]
So for example, I have magic, but if I use it I have to go to one of the mana pools to recharge. From what I can tell from others that have it, the sigil is meant to put you on the same... interface, er, wavelength or something. So you may draw your power from the same source.
no subject
Well. It wouldn't be pretty.]
I see. I suppose it is put on me by the...Storyteller, was it?
[It has to be. Right? Who else would be out there marking people up?]
no subject
[He has no idea if this man is fully robotic- the concept of anyone even being partially mechanical outside of a standard prosthesis is still foreign to him and discovered only here thus far. But he knows Legion must have experience with dealing in these issues, and if they can't fully assist, they'll probably know someone better.]
You'll probably need to recharge near the mana pools, though I can't say the frequency. That's where they share their power.
no subject
[And he will. He learned the hard way that he's not equipped to answer the mysteries of the world alone, and the help of a robot isn't strange to him. Some omnics can be far wiser than any human could hope to be.]
And I suppose I'll find out how frequently soon enough. I imagine when I start feeling drained would be a good time to recharge.
no subject
[It just sounds like it would be really bad, all things considered.]
Well. Welcome to the archipelago, it seems. I hope you can enjoy the fortune we have now before it's inevitably thrown out the window.
no subject
[He laughs, before bobbing his head.]
I appreciate the information.
no subject
[He would bow, if Genji was the god of this place. Since he isn't, he simply gives a nod in return.]
I'll see you around Enso, I'm sure. Best of luck getting settled.
[And he goes to leave this room, searching for the god he came here to question.]
