March Adventure: I Can Move Mountains
NEW ISLAND: CAHYPDO

Warnings: Tag as you go!

We Turn the Tide
As of March 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to Cahypdo.
There is a mana pool situated on E5, to the island's south.
Most of E5 is overcome by a crooked sprawl of coastal cliffs, rocky bumps and swells that make the area a prime spot for tidepools. If one ventures to the region's eastern areas, they're certain to find all manner of marine creatures dwelling in the miniature ecosystems: crabs, clams, starfish, anemones.
If they go east, they'll be greeted by a soft expanse of warm sand. In the distance, the lumpy presence of buildings might be visible on just the next square over. But the local population are more than a little startled to have visitors, and you're bound to see a few curious members of their village wandering out to say hello. None of them, one will note immediately, are armed; either it doesn't occur to them that visitors might be hostile, or they have perfect confidence that hostile visitors aren't a concern.
You can find more information on the Roaka, the inhabitants of Cahypdo, on the island's OOC information. In the meantime, there will be a top-level below for NPC interaction, for those interested in making first contact!
And May Death Find You Alive
Now, we did mention on the island's introductory info post that Cahypdo's landscape isn't altogether stable. The soft sands and soils are prone to sinkholes and even quicksand in dire instances, and those who scale either of the mountains risk being overtaken by landslides and avalanches.
Which is why, on March 15th, there will be a rather sizable earthquake. Sizable enough to cause both mountains to shed heaping piles of slag and debris which may very well wipe out any brave traveler who was currently scaling either peak...or crush any innocents below who don't get out of the way quickly enough.

You may also use this log as a catch-all for reactions to the earthquake and what assistance you might offer, if any. Or if you simply end up getting in everyone's way. Not that we'd expect that of anyone here, oh no. Not us.
Welcome to the island of Cahypdo! As the island is now accessible, feel free to create new logs of your own, or use this post as a catch-all for exploration! You may also use this log as a reaction to the events on the [DATE] and subsequent efforts to help, if you wish. 16th!
That said, he asks around about the people who have been around, what's happened, and he can't not do something when people are in distress. He ends up moving towards the activity, sheepishly keeping his head down until he can find his way to where the damage occurred. He steps forward, clearing his throat.]
Uhm-- hello. I'm one of the visitors from the other island, uhm, I'm sure you've heard of us-- is there anything I can do to help clear this? I know my appearance doesn't suggest it, but I can lift or hold something rather heavy on your behalf.

Greetings, traveler. We are sorry that you come here to see our village in such disarray.
It is kind of you to offer help. There are others, fixing the buildings. I can lead you, if you wish it.
no subject
It's alright-- please, don't worry yourself on our welcome. We are travelers, and rather accustomed to new lands. Since we are the visitors, we are more than happy to help.
[He stands a bit too much at attention, but as always, a good impression is vital.]
Feel free to place me wherever would be most useful for you.

[ The Roaka slowly makes their way towards a few collapsed buildings. ]
You have seen many new lands, you said. Are any of them like ours?
no subject
He's broken from whatever thoughts he had with the question.]
Like yours as in... lush, or vivid? We have seen other islands with growth and plantlife, but not with people like you. Most of the places we have visited were devoid of advanced life, aside from a deity that presided there. Personally, you are the first I have met that resided on their own island.
[The Jormun exist, of course, and ARUM was... well. That's a guilt he still carries.]
You seem to live quite symbiotically with nature here. It's peaceful.

They give off a low, strange hum; a thoughtful rumble. ]
I see. That is strange indeed, that you have seen islands, but not many that live on such islands.
[ Another rumbling sound; this sounds more like a laugh. ]
We dwell in peace with the island; we live as it does. And we are content.
[ Their long strides make up for their slow pace; it doesn't take too long to reach the damaged buildings they spoke of.
One of the houses doesn't seem to be damaged much, just...sunken a bit. The Roaka serving as Kravitz's guide seems to have taken him at his word, as they begin to heave one side of the house out of the mud without much fanfare.
They're struggling a bit, though. ]

Do you know of other civilizations that are out there, or documentation of anything older than your generation? Some of us believe these islands were not once separate, but finding tangible proof has been difficult.
[Once they reach the house though, he can get to work. He likely can't lift the entire thing- while he may have been able to in the past, he's a bit more aware of his limits now. But that doesn't mean he can't apply a few hundred pounds of lift into the situation, and he reaches out his hand to mentally take hold of the structure and pull with them.]
