March Adventure: I Can Move Mountains
NEW ISLAND: CAHYPDO
Who: Everyone!
What: Cahypdo appears!
When: March 10th and onward
Where: Cahypdo
Warnings: Tag as you go!

What: Cahypdo appears!
When: March 10th and onward
Where: Cahypdo
Warnings: Tag as you go!

We Turn the Tide
As of March 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to Cahypdo.
There is a mana pool situated on E5, to the island's south.
Most of E5 is overcome by a crooked sprawl of coastal cliffs, rocky bumps and swells that make the area a prime spot for tidepools. If one ventures to the region's eastern areas, they're certain to find all manner of marine creatures dwelling in the miniature ecosystems: crabs, clams, starfish, anemones.
If they go east, they'll be greeted by a soft expanse of warm sand. In the distance, the lumpy presence of buildings might be visible on just the next square over. But the local population are more than a little startled to have visitors, and you're bound to see a few curious members of their village wandering out to say hello. None of them, one will note immediately, are armed; either it doesn't occur to them that visitors might be hostile, or they have perfect confidence that hostile visitors aren't a concern.
You can find more information on the Roaka, the inhabitants of Cahypdo, on the island's OOC information. In the meantime, there will be a top-level below for NPC interaction, for those interested in making first contact!
And May Death Find You Alive
Now, we did mention on the island's introductory info post that Cahypdo's landscape isn't altogether stable. The soft sands and soils are prone to sinkholes and even quicksand in dire instances, and those who scale either of the mountains risk being overtaken by landslides and avalanches.
Which is why, on March 15th, there will be a rather sizable earthquake. Sizable enough to cause both mountains to shed heaping piles of slag and debris which may very well wipe out any brave traveler who was currently scaling either peak...or crush any innocents below who don't get out of the way quickly enough.

You may also use this log as a catch-all for reactions to the earthquake and what assistance you might offer, if any. Or if you simply end up getting in everyone's way. Not that we'd expect that of anyone here, oh no. Not us.
Welcome to the island of Cahypdo! As the island is now accessible, feel free to create new logs of your own, or use this post as a catch-all for exploration! You may also use this log as a reaction to the events on the [DATE] and subsequent efforts to help, if you wish. They lope over, covering the distance easily. They might be a bit too close - even if they're young, that still means they're a bit taller than Ren.
Their voice is high and melodic and cheerful. It brings to mind wind whistling through leaves. ]
Of course! We wouldn't harvest if we didn't eat. It would be rude to the island! [ They pick up the cluster of sea grapes, picking off a few and offering them to Ren. ]
Do you eat them? [ It's a genuine question, apparently. ]

But she isn't a hundred percent sure if that's something people should eat. They found it and it seemed edible? She hasn't asked the local chefs to be sure-it's what she's heard around the literal grapevine though. Instead of an answer, she cautiously plucks a few pieces from their palm and pops them right into her mouth.
No stomachache and they taste okay. One second, two seconds, ten seconds and-]
Yes, I feel good, so I can eat these things. They don't make me sick.
[Score one for humanity. The sea grapes are theirs now. Someone get ready for grape s'mores-it's coming.]
You can eat the rest. There's a lot left.

Eating food is better if you share it with others! That is what I think. [ They eat a few, then hold out their hand again so she can take some, if she wants. ]
Do you have a food you like to share?
no subject
And with that comfort, she just. You know. Takes a few more of the tiny grapes. Then a couple more. Then a couple couple more and shoves them right into her pocket.
But that's okay, because she's going to share and she slides the bag off her back, immediately turning it upside to shake out just. So much stuff. There's treasure out the wazoo and-
There's some leftover food in the confines of her gross bag and she immediately scoops it into her grubby hands, plopping it onto their barky fingers. It's probably porridge or something. It's fine.]
That! That's very good. We can share it.
[And she kneels back down to sort through her items.]
We can share other treasures too. Not just food ones.
no subject
It is very grainy! [ They smile, broadly. ]
What kinds of treasures? Can a food be both food and a treasure? [ They're clearly curious. The concept of a treasure is something they apparently don't have much of a grasp on. ]
no subject
Yes, but it has to be a special food. A birthday cake is a treasure and regular cake is food. That's how it works.
[But she's got other stuff too-she hands them, like, a shiny pebble, a handmade playing card and small piece of charcoal.]
Those are treasures we can share.
no subject
[ Of all the things Ren has handed them, they seem to like the playing card the best. They turn it over slowly and gently, handling it like a fragile, precious artifact. ]
I do not recognise this treasure. What is it?
no subject
[She says confidently, as the leading expert on such games, while she slowly pulls out groups of more cards scattered around her pocket, until she's got the whole ding dang pile.]
If you win that game, you get loot.
no subject
How do you play this game? Can you teach me?
