March Adventure: I Can Move Mountains
NEW ISLAND: CAHYPDO
Who: Everyone!
What: Cahypdo appears!
When: March 10th and onward
Where: Cahypdo
Warnings: Tag as you go!

We Turn the Tide
As of March 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to Cahypdo.
There is a mana pool situated on E5, to the island's south.
Most of E5 is overcome by a crooked sprawl of coastal cliffs, rocky bumps and swells that make the area a prime spot for tidepools. If one ventures to the region's eastern areas, they're certain to find all manner of marine creatures dwelling in the miniature ecosystems: crabs, clams, starfish, anemones.
If they go east, they'll be greeted by a soft expanse of warm sand. In the distance, the lumpy presence of buildings might be visible on just the next square over. But the local population are more than a little startled to have visitors, and you're bound to see a few curious members of their village wandering out to say hello. None of them, one will note immediately, are armed; either it doesn't occur to them that visitors might be hostile, or they have perfect confidence that hostile visitors aren't a concern.
You can find more information on the Roaka, the inhabitants of Cahypdo, on the island's OOC information. In the meantime, there will be a top-level below for NPC interaction, for those interested in making first contact!
And May Death Find You Alive
Now, we did mention on the island's introductory info post that Cahypdo's landscape isn't altogether stable. The soft sands and soils are prone to sinkholes and even quicksand in dire instances, and those who scale either of the mountains risk being overtaken by landslides and avalanches.
Which is why, on March 15th, there will be a rather sizable earthquake. Sizable enough to cause both mountains to shed heaping piles of slag and debris which may very well wipe out any brave traveler who was currently scaling either peak...or crush any innocents below who don't get out of the way quickly enough.

You may also use this log as a catch-all for reactions to the earthquake and what assistance you might offer, if any. Or if you simply end up getting in everyone's way. Not that we'd expect that of anyone here, oh no. Not us.
Welcome to the island of Cahypdo! As the island is now accessible, feel free to create new logs of your own, or use this post as a catch-all for exploration! You may also use this log as a reaction to the events on the [DATE] and subsequent efforts to help, if you wish. 11th
[She's brought a few extra supplies in her bag, hopefully she can find someone willing to trade with her. She approaches the first of the Roaka she sees, pausing at a polite distance to greet them with her usual curtsy.]
Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you. May I ask your name?
no subject
Their voice is soft and sonorous. ]
I am Valish Camphora. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, traveler.
What brings you to our home?
no subject
My name is Muffet. I'd heard from my fellow travelers that your people lived here, and wished to see if you were interested in trading. I'd be happy to show you what I have to offer, if you're interested.
Besides, [She smiles.] I was curious when I heard that there were new people in the area. I wanted to meet you, and see what you were like for myself.
no subject
We are happy to trade, for whatever you need. The island's bounty is open to all.
What goods do you carry with you, traveler? [ They peer at her, solemnly. ]
no subject
[The fact that they've been seen farming makes her less worried about offering plant-like people plant-based goods, although she's still chosen not to bring any woodcarvings. Just in case.]

That would depend on what you would be willing to offer. Ideally, I would prefer to trade for crafts of your own making, or seeds of plants that I don't possess in my garden, but I'd be happy to consider anything else you might think to be suitable.
no subject
[ They chuckle a little, a low, soft rumble. ] But -- you see, our crafts and our plants are one and the same. We cannot separate them.
[ Are they going to explain this at all....it doesn't appear so. ]

There is a small outside table, with several stools scattered around it. As she gets closer though, it's apparent that the floral 'decorations' - visible even at a distance - aren't decorations at all.
The stools themselves are flowers, large and sturdy enough to make seats. The table itself is one large plant, interwoven together. The trellis used to guide its shape can barely be seen under all the greenery, mostly engulfed.
They gesture. ]
You see.
no subject
Oh my, how lovely- I can see how that might be difficult to trade, yes. Still, it's certainly worth the effort.
[It's a nice change to see something florally-themed that isn't deeply disturbing around here.]
no subject
[ The Roaka seems very pleased with her approval. ]
As long as you care for them, they will grow. It will take some time, but they live long. Like us.
no subject
I would be happy to trade with you for seeds, as well as knowledge of their proper care.
[Most plants tend to have the basics in common, but it never hurts to know more about their little ways- how much water, how much light, etc.]
