the quest for clinicvania
Who: Doctor Faust and all those willing to help!
What: Refurbishment of the clinic, through new hires, more supplies and a better structure!
When: February the 10th and onwards
Where: Nari Nishitani's Clinic/Infirmary (Ensō, B6)
Warnings: If you are latrophobic, look away now.
The good doctor pockets his Stone of Farspeech, having finished his announcement over the lifenet. Time to make this place look as presentable as possible before he has guests...if this place even can be made presentable. Paper bag set in a visage of grim determination, Doctor Faust sets to work.
1. Healers
Can you dress a wound, or channel energies into restorative magics? The good doctor is waiting for you when you come in, and gives you a friendly wave before beckoning you over. He's currently awkwardly seated upon a wooden crate, and gestures to a second opposite it.
"Welcome! I apologise for the lack of proper seating, I'm hoping to have some chairs built very soon. I'll assume you're here for the interview?"
2. Suppliers
Can you make bandages, or grow medicinal herbs? Today, Faust is rifling through some containers, and he produces some sort of splint as you enter. His eyehole squints as he lifts it up towards the light to examine it further - only stopping when he realises he has a guest.
"Oh, hello there! Pardon me, I'll be right with you - are you a patient or are you here to volunteer?"
3. Renovators
Can you replace floorboards, or construct furniture? You'll find the form of one Doctor Faust hunched over a bed, as he makes a heroic but futile effort to drag it across the room. He gives up after a few seconds, standing back up to wipe a bead of sweat off of his bag...and in the process, realising he has company.
"Ah, hello! I didn't notice you there, please forgive me. Are you here to help with the clinic, or are you in need of medical assistance?"
4. Other
If you're here for a private interview via Stone of Farspeech, you'll want to go here. Otherwise, you'll find Faust standing outside the clinic, looking it over with as pensive an expression as he can manage with a paper bag on his head. Whatever he's thinking about, it's taking up enough of his attention that he won't notice you approach - if you're here for something different than volunteering, this is your chance to make it known.

Good afternoon, Doctor.
no subject
"...mmmmhnn-hm? wh-jus...A-AH, GOOD AFTERNO-!"
Faust makes an extremely determined effort to launch himself back into attentiveness, literally jumping to his feet like a spring...and smacking his head on the ceiling in the process. The hit leaves him cringing on his knees, pushing one hand underneath the bag to clutch the fresh lump on his head. That sounded like it hurt.
"...a-afternoon, Asgore...one, one minute, please...oof..."
no subject
Although at least some of this probably could be blamed on the ceilings in this building being pretty low for creatures of their general size. Asgore himself is constantly banging his horns on doorframes; luckily, they were made to take hits anyway.
Anyway, this has all been terrible thus far! "Would you like me to come back later?"
no subject
"...I'm alright, thank you Asgore. 'tis just a lump! Should probably get to work on the ceiling when I get a chance..."
He trails off for a moment before gesturing for Asgore to take a seat - opposite the half-built desk is a particularly heavy-looking crate, something the good doctor had moved prior with the express purpose of taking the large Capricorn's weight. Hopefully.
"I'll be right with you! Just...one moment, please."
no subject
[Still looking rather doubtful, Asgore goes to take the seat indicated. The crate does seem to hold up; he sits cautiously enough that he's probably pretty familiar with that particular difficulty.]
no subject
"Forgive me for that unsightly display. I have been making an effort to cut down on how much time I spend here each day, but that...piece of furniture...!"
He can't mask the frustration in his tone. He's not entirely sure where he got it, nor who made it, nor who wrote what he thinks are meant to be the instructions, but what he does know is that this infernal pile of construction materials were meant to be used by someone with proficiency in non-euclidean design.
...okay, it's not that bad, but still.
"Anyhow, thank you for coming here today! It's a pleasure to see you again, Asgore."
He doesn't even need to lean forward to offer his hand out - they're both big enough that he can just extend his arm and easily meet the monster halfway.
no subject
Oh, of course! I was happy to do it. I had offered to help here before as well, but the last person to run the clinic did not like to rely on magical healing.
no subject
If Asgore didn't have Faust's attention before, he definitely has it now. Why would somebody refuse magical healing? An unpleasant past experience, perhaps? Or did Nari originate from a realm that had not yet unlocked its magical potential, and believed it would be unwise to trust the unknown?
no subject
[Asgore hesitates a little. He hadn't meant to speak against Nari at all; he's sure she had her reasons.]
I suppose she did not like to rely on such things. Magic may be lost or blocked, after all.
no subject
...come to think of it, that Other Asgore had some rather peculiar abilities, as did Miss Muffet. The way their powers had interacted was both strangely familiar yet otherwise completely mysterious for the good doctor...and just what was with that strange heart that was pulled out of him, and the almost computer-like interface that came with it? Just who are these anthropomorphic individuals?
no subject
I am. It was blocked for much of my time in the last world I visited, so I know how that goes. But I can use it freely here, though I find I tire faster when using it than I did before. It has been enough for my purposes, at any rate.
no subject
"I must admit, I am rather unfamiliar with your particular brand of magic. It's quite different from what I'm used to back home...if it's okay with you, may I please ask you a few questions about it?"
If Asgore's healing magic is anything like what his shadowy self had, this is very significant information. That, and Faust can't deny his curiosity towards such bizarre yet advanced magic. He still hasn't puzzled out how the large monster could manifest Faust's own essence outside of his body with merely a flick of the wrist...
no subject
[Most human magic he's seen doesn't strike him as incredibly unusual - but then again, human magic was always strange and ill-defined. The ones where you need incantations are a little weird.]
