it's a quarter past midnight [ OPEN MINGLE ]
Who: Anyone!
What: Catch-all Denny mingle for the month of December
When: December 18th and onward (post-Trials)
Where: Denny
Warnings: Label your stuff if it comes up y'all
[Feel free to use this as a catch-all for whatever your character might conceivably be doing here. Are they loitering outside? Delivering supplies/food? Helping improve the place because god knows it certainly needs it? Cooking? Socializing? Eating? Just wanting to booze it up? I've heard chatter of live music or IC DND, so whatever you wanna do here, go for it!]
[There are nominal rules but if you don't get caught you don't have to deal with them, so you do you.]

[ Well! 'Tis the season for... uh, dying. Luckily, Denny is not for dying. It is Christmas time, after all, and she has a violin she hasn't had the chance to play. She also has a talent for remembering how to play quite a few songs, especially Christmas music.
She seems really content, when she's playing the violin. Come meet her between songs (she takes requests) or afterward-- ]
mingling
[ --when she's put her violin away and she's just hanging out. After everything the month has been, she really needs some time just to relax and speak with others. She doesn't have much of an appetite, but she does have a drink--nonalcoholic--in hand.
Or she comes over with a smile and a greeting, ]
Enjoying the night?
[ Or maybe the best girl Daisy comes over. Love the corg. ]

And Mira is talented and looks so happy. Lillie can't help but linger nearby, swaying back and forth in time with the music. By her feet, Nebby tries to match her pace. When she finishes, Lillie claps softly, and Cosmog cries out in lieu of having hands to clap with.]
no subject
Thank you. [ She's practically beaming. ] I have a few more songs in mind, but is there anything you'd like to hear?
[ She's playing for them, after all. ]
no subject
[Lillie is honestly just glad to see Mira expressing such happiness despite the Time (tm) everyone's been having. To make music in the wake of chaos is really something special. And to acknowledge the holidays - not aggressively, just putting music out there for those that want to partake in it - is really a kind gesture as well.
She shakes her head, laughing a little.]
Oh, no thank you...I'm happy to listen to whatever you want to play. You're very talented!

[ Her trial had given her a new desire--to become stronger to protect the people she cares about, to find the strength to face her problems instead of running from them--but she still wants, above all else, to make people happy. That Lillie is so happy... it lifts her own spirits. ]
Thank you. I've been playing since I was little, and I'm glad I can still play well enough. And... I'm happy it can reach people's hearts.
[ ... maybe that's a little cheesy, but it's true. ]
no subject
[Lillie smiles softly. It's not cheesy to her. She believes there's a special kind of magic behind sharing happiness with other people. All her life she's wanted other people to be happy. Only recently did she learn that she should be happy, too.]
Not everyone thinks that way.
no subject
I think the world would be a much better place if they did.
[ She doesn't underestimate the effect kindness can have on someone. ]

Mingling
I beg your pardon?
[He asks in her general direction. His eyes definitely weren't all cloudy like that before.]
no subject
She positions herself so he can, hopefully, hear her better and pinpoint where she is. She's standing a little distance in front of him. ]
Are you enjoying the night? If I can get anything for you, I'd be happy to.
no subject
Oh, no - I am quite alright, thank you. [He smiles, genuinely grateful. Getting himself back to the bar would be a pain now that there's more people in here.] It is nice to get out and hear some music and conversation, is it not? I have not left my home much these past few days.
[For probably obvious reasons. His smile quirks a little wryly.]
How have you been?
no subject
[ She smiles, and even if he can't see it, it's there in her voice. ]
I've been alright. A little... shaky, after everything that happened, but... I'm doing alright. [ She clears her throat. ] So, you liked the music?
no subject
[He hesitates, casting back and realizing that he doesn't really need to, that much.]
...oh, no. I suppose it must have been at the year's-end festival. Goodness, that seems so long ago now.

[It's been a few days without sight for Asgore, and while he's starting to grow more accustomed to it, he is also starting to run out of food.
Thus, Denny.
It's a lot easier to find his way back to the restaurant than to find food out in the wild. He's been here a couple times before, so between that and his new walking stick - a truly large branch he found - he's reasonably confident, and makes his way inside and up to the bar without any real trouble.]
Howdy. Is anyone here?
[He hates to bother people, but he'd also hate to make a mess while trying to find food himself.]
And A Show
[Once he's gotten something to eat, Asgore will plant himself at a table and chill for a while. The live music is nice, as is the simple sound of other voices; given everything, he's been sticking very close to home the past few days. It's been quiet.
He won't be getting up to mingle himself. A monster of his size moving blind just seems like an inconvenience for everyone, and he can't even really tell if there's anybody here he'd like to talk to. But he's entirely open to being approached!]
Dinner
(They participated in the same trial: they were allies, at least temporarily. Hopefully, this will continue to be the case.)
Greetings.

Legion! Hello - are you well?
no subject
All systems functioning within acceptable parameters. Yourself?
no subject
[He smiles, sheepish and small, like his death was something sort of shameful he did.]
But you know how it is. I was actually hoping you could tell me if there is any food around here? I know it is generally left out for us to serve ourselves, but...
no subject
Perhaps it is due to what was revealed in the trial. Alternate causes include current vulnerability. More data is required. They do not comment.)
Affirmative. Food is available. We will assist.

[Since hunkering down there at the beginning of the month, Lillie has made a habit of coming to the Denny after breakfast. Part of it is just because she's looking to meet some of her fellow island residents more formally. It's about time. Part of it is to give Guzma some breathing room, rather than be attached at the hip to each other all the time. They're good friends now, but with that friendship comes the recognition of a need for space now and then. Nebby is always with her, either toddling along by her feet or nestled in her bag. Or, you know, escaping and bumping into other people energetically.
Lillie also brings a large jug of fresh water with her every day. She plops it down next to her, along with a couple of cups from the Denny itself, and is always glad to offer its contents to anyone in need of a fresh drink. Mostly she waits to be approached, but if you're uncertain about approaching her and she notices you lingering, she's liable to wave you over with a smile and nod.
She's usually on her way out by noon, so catch her before then!]

[Either way, the way December started off shone some light on some necessary renovations for the building. When Tim isn't patching walls and the roof or fixing any equipment that might've been damaged at the month's start, he's reinforcing the walls just outside the building itself, as well as hacking up a particularly large log with the intent to refine it down to a heavy block he can use to bar the door.]
[It's not all hard work. Just...mostly. You might also catch him behind the counter, doing something decidedly mundane like chopping vegetables or stripping meat for storage. He's not even that much of a cook. He just...needs something to do with his hands.]
behind the counter
First, though. ]
Do you need any help?
no subject
[He doesn't. He only knows, vaguely, how to kind of manage things while Muffet has the brains, the extra hands, and the wherewithal to actually put stuff together and make it taste damn good in the process.]
no subject
[ She's better at baking, but she can cook just fine. ]
What are you thinking of?
no subject
[He can't cook. He can't not cook, but cooking is probably better left to people who know how to make a meal more refined than, say, a can of cold ravioli eaten over the sink.]
no subject
[ It's been a hell of a time lately. And stew is always a comfort food--at least for her--so... ]
... But, actually, there was a reason I wanted to find you. I have something for you.
