I Pray for the Ground to Swallow Me Whole
As of November 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to the new island of Maati.

Travelers will arrive on a mana pool situated on the E5 square, within the temple of the avatar that dwells here. Their temple is a sturdy thing, built into and around the chestnut trees that thread deeply into its very construction. The symbol of the eagle can be found nearly everywhere one looks.

Three guesses as to what shape the avatar of this land assumes.

Purpose is lofty thing to quantify. I have many names, and have been called many things. For my own preference, I've come to favor the title "Anbaki."

[That's at least one answer, which is nice.]

A clarification: Other gods of these islands appear to have specific domains of influence. When we spoke of purpose, we were attempting to refer to yours.

[There's no fanfare to their declaration when they issue it. It is spoken simply, matter of fact:]

(Reference to justice gets a bit of awkward chatter. They remember attempting to appeal to organic sense of justice. They remember this attempt failing.)

[Anbaki has nothing to add, at the moment. They do not issue questions or make much attempt to stimulate conversation unless the other party wishes it.]

(They stand there, headflaps shifting and rippling. It might seem, at first, like they have nothing more to say, but eventually Legion will speak up.)

Justice?

[They are, if nothing else, a patient god; they are willing to wait for as long as Legion needs them to.]

That is what I said, yes.

Clarify: Justice for all entities or select subsets?

(Though they would hope that a god would be different, Legion knows all to well that sometimes it's the latter.)

Justice does not discriminate; it applies evenly, to all things. It applies me, just the same as it does to you. Who we are does not change that.

It only changes what we must do, to do better.

We have encountered others who did not apply principles of justice universally.

[Again, there is no perceptible shift in their tone. They state it as though it were a simple, fundamental fact.]

Do other gods adhere to this ideal of justice?

Some consider it. Others pay it little mind. It all comes down to one's perspective. Glas, I believe, has an interest in justice, but only so far as it allows for their conceptualization of Balance.

None prioritize the way I do.

Would you consider any likely to actively violate it?

We are all violating it, in a sense. We are imperfect creatures. Many of us are flawed - even gods.

[Especially gods.]

Are there dangers present on this island?

[They nod their beaked head, once.]

There are dangers. Most are wild creatures that do not bear the same notion of justice as sentient creatures.

Such dangers are common. We will ensure that we are prepared.

Dangers other than wild creatures?

The terrain can prove treacherous. There are not very many resources here for the...

[A pause here. They seem to be searching for the word for it, and in the end, they fail to locate it. They are not one for words; that duty falls to the Storyteller.]

Acknowledged. We are not organic.

(Legion sometimes states the obvious.

After a moment, they headtilt curiously.)

Synthetic consumption?

(Legion does not eat, and they doubt they're going to find usable plastics to repair themselves in a place like this, but...)

[The avatar inclines their head in acknowledgment of that fact; as someone who states the obvious quite often themself, they seldom call attention to when others do the same.]

This land hosts certain veins of ore and metals beneath its surface, if you are willing to dig for them. You are welcome to, as long as you do not uproot this island in the process.

Geth seek to minimize environmental harm.

(In their universe of origin, Geth obtained resources from asteroids. Activity on Rannoch was limited to cleaning environmental pollution and preservation of structures. Legion understands the importance of limiting impact.

Additionally, this island is their home, not Legion's.)
