Try and Hear Me, Then I'm Done
You can find most of the information you need in the OOC info post! In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for the duration of the event. While this log will focus on the past portion, you're free to use it for the future portion. As always, you can also make your own logs if that's your preference! Come the 21st, however, we'll likely get an additional log up for those who want to play around with their future echoes as well. Remember also that the present portion will be played out in Mu, during this month's Storytelling.
Remember to let us know if your character dies during this event. Bear in mind, however: death penalties will NOT be reduced for this event.

Event Timeline
[ ♆ ] October 10th: The ghosts of the past appear.
[ ♆ ] October 20th: The warped Storytelling occurs, the Storyteller returns, and those who have died are revived.
[ ♆ ] October 21st: Future echoes replace the ghosts of the past.
[ ♆ ] October 25th: With equilibrium restored, all visions vanish, and life returns to how it was.

I mean, you know when I showed up. You've got time on me in this weird place.
[She idly looks around the landscape, as if she's going to find answers there.]
I dunno, everything's just been so chill so far. This feels weird. Like all that's happened is we've fixed some fences for a dog or whatever and now we're seeing projections of people. Those things really don't go together, you feel?

[He's trying not to look at Maine, and failing. He's difficult to ignore; the sheer bulk and surface area makes him an easy target. Focus, Wash. Focus, focus, focus. Stop letting memory blindside you and bull you off course, just focus, focus, focus.]
That place we go to in our dreams. Mu. I guess it's a little more than just a place to tell stories.
no subject
So we go a place in our dreams now. Great.
[Mmmm no she's gotta ask.]
Who're you dreamin' of, then?
no subject
[Besides, he's got a better question. Mostly a vaguely suspicious one.]
Why does it matter to you?
no subject
I dunno. Figured you were gonna ask me eventually. If there's nothing else to do but sit around and mope about nearly dying via ghost, why not, y'know, chat about who it is?
no subject
[There was that niggling in the corner of his mind. What she reminds him of. She does remind him, he thinks, of somebody, and while the assertion of violence is all Sarge, the philosophical meandering makes him think, vaguely, of Grif.]
You can't see anyone near me, right? I'm not just - [He waves a hand vaguely near his head. Losing it. Going crazy. Again.]
no subject
What, for you? Nah. You can't see shit here either, yeah?
[She jabs a thumb over her shoulder, where she can see Keg out of the corner of her eye.]
no subject
[He shuts his eyes, briefly. Exhaustion is a hard thing to simply...shrug aside, but he's had a lifetime of practice. It's just getting harder and harder to, with the bastion of his worst mistakes looming over him.]
Good to know this is an everyone problem.
no subject
So this just happens sometimes? First our dreams are fucked up and next everyone gets into mass hallucination territory. If I wanted to start seeing things I'd do it on purpose and it would be something fun. You think dream island takes requests?

[Wash knows about the weed guy because everyone knows about the weed guy. He's actually met said weed guy twice now, but he just kind of calls him weed guy because he hasn't exactly had reason to draw the correlation between Connor Murphy and the guy who grows LifeAftr's only supply of weed.]
no subject
[Hang on this is a conversation she needs. Thing is, there's a lot of things known as weed in her world. There are like, gardening weeds, or farm weeds, but he's talking about hallucinogens. Probably halfling pipeweed, in that case. Not the strongest stuff, but perfect for sitting in the forest and getting nothing done. That would suit this place pretty well.]
Pipeweed, yeah? We got someone who has that stuff?
no subject
[Why is he talking about weed. He never had to talk about weed with the Reds and Blues. He hates this. He hates his life.]
I don't know if he asks people to trade for it, or anything. You'd have to talk to him.
no subject
[Hell yes, fuck this weird ghost event, there's drugs here!]
So who is said guy? Can I call him on the, uh, rock thing?
no subject
[Does he looks like he smokes? He looks like a walking advertisement for the hazards of a lifetime's worth of sleep debt, but that's really about all Agent Washington has going for him.]
I...don't know his name. At this point, you could just ask for the weed guy and a dozen people could tell you.
no subject
But you don't know? Damn.
[This is becoming her priority now.]
So, just to make sure, if I say weed guy into the rock it's not gonna get me to him.
no subject
[He's had bigger problems to worry about.]
Probably not, no. Is that seriously your priority right now?
no subject
Uh, yeah. What else am I gonna do? Wander off a cliff at the suggestion of my dearly fake follower? Wallow in crap for a week? Nah. I'm gonna get baked and watch the ocean until this shit blows over. I won't remember any hallucination is real with good enough stuff.

[Maine is saying something - for a certain value of "saying," as it doesn't involve very many words - but he ignores it. Maine is difficult to ignore. He was difficult to ignore even before he was hollowed out into something that ripped his friends' minds out of their skulls in pursuit of the A.I. they housed.]
no subject
[It's not that she's heartless, just... not a savior type.]
I've made sure my team is alright, so yeah, I'd like time to pass faster in the meantime. I don't see you running around offering to be everyone's therapist.
no subject
[Not any more than usual, anyway. He closes his eyes, briefly. They're sticky with lack of sleep, but they always are. Maine doesn't really go away. He's a solid wall of white fog and golden-domed faceshielding and a low, annoyed rumble. Stop it, he's saying without saying anything at all. Stop falling asleep.]
[So he opens his eyes again.]
There's someone I still need to find.
no subject
Then c'mon. Get up.
[Beau gestures to him, flipping her wrist towards herself as a gesture of 'come on'.]
Don't just sit here and wallow, let's do something.
no subject
[He sighs heavily. Wonder of all wonders, but that's not sufficient in getting him upright right away. But, after a moment, he levers himself up on one elbow, and then onto his side.]
no subject
[Ugh, great, here she goes helping.]
Guess I got nothing better to do. Who is it?
no subject
[Because he keeps saying it's not, and he's - well, he's gone crazy before, hasn't he? Why should his word mean a damn thing? Since when has it ever mattered?]
Name of C.T. Armor like mine, but it's brown and - a different config. [If she even knows what that means.]
no subject
[Also Beau tied her to a tree with a lot of rope but that's neither here nor there.]
How long has it been since you saw her? Hours, days?
