New Arrivals: Bury Me Alive
When you wake, it's initially to darkness: musty, stuffy, and dense. Your eyes may take some time to adjust, but when they do, something will rapidly become apparent - namely, the fact that you're underground.

Exploring your surroundings will reveal a few more unnerving discoveries. Take, for example, the fact that you're currently trapped in what appears to be a number of buried houses, walls and ceilings compressed against one another thanks to time and pressure. The walls may have held up the weight of the soil above your head for a time, but it'd likely be best not to hold out hope that they'll continue to last. Your supply of air down here is rather limited, after all.

Unfortunately for you, it's not merely earth that separates you from the surface. It's also flowers in rich abundance - an untold, innumerable weight of dead and decaying plant matter, twined around the ancient bones strewn underground along with your sweet self, pressing down from above, peeking through the cracks in the metallic folds of whatever material once comprised these buildings' ceilings, walls, and floors.

Whether it's a mass tomb or something more sinister, you'd better figure a way out, and quickly. If you didn't show up with a shovel or some means of teleporting yourself out, you may very well need to resign yourself to digging your way out or making a lot of noise to attract someone who can, before this becomes a more dedicated grave.

Everyone Else: All Will Change and Calcify
As for the rest of you, well...if you're anywhere near the regions of G5, you might hear the sounds of a not-insignificant number of people finding themselves displaced underground, and requiring your imminent assistance in getting out. Perhaps you'll recognize the place. It is, after all, very well marked. They'll probably be properly grateful if you mind offering the help, and hey - it's a welcome break from the eerie, ever-present silence that clouds almost the entirety of Umui. As long as you don't mind digging around that old cenotaph half-buried in the flowers and scraping through sheets of metal, a lot of flowers, and...oh, yes. The first bones you'd be finding since arriving here.

If you've been hanging around the laboratory near the island mana pool, on the other hand, you'll definitely be getting a break from the silence - namely in the form of ARUM-25, whom a number of you have been devoted to repairing since their discovery, learning that a great deal of their systems have come back online, right around the time that the newest arrivals are properly unearthed.

Including their diagnostic systems.

The warning, repeated shrills will undoubtedly be heard by anyone who passes:

[ look she doesn't mean to sound like a creep, but things are just happening So Much and with hinata asking her about the dreams, she can't help it. ]

Yes, there's no mistaking it... [ it's more like she's just talking to herself right now, but it's loud enough to where pyrrha can hear her. then: ]

You were the girl on the boat, right?

I... remember dreaming that I was on a boat, if that's what you're referring to? Although, I'm not sure how you could be, since it was a dream, but that doesn't make sense...

[She's losing track of all of this herself. What to do? What to do.]

We were sinking, right?

Yes, it is. I believe we've both had the exact same dream.

[ this is crazy. then again, so is, well, all of this. she puts a finger to her lip pensively before moving it to tap her chin. ]

I wonder how that could be...

It's hard to explain... this world is rather strange, but I don't think I need to be telling you about that.

[Considering the day everyone's been through so far.]

Yes...it's very strange, indeed. I still don't quite understand why I was chosen to come here.

[ ... ] Especially when some people on this island have extraordinary gifts and talents. [ like nari, who can literally make fire. ]

Well at least if there's one thing that I'm familiar with, it's extraordinary gifts and talents. [She didn't go through a year of space murder for nothing!!]

I mean, I wouldn't want to brag, but I do have some amazing abilities myself!

I see... [ she feels...pretty incompetent, but hifumi shoves those feelings aside and offers the other girl a small smile. ]

What sorts of abilities do you have?

[great!!!! she'd feel terrible if she knew that!!]

Well, I have my Semblance, for starters. [Which she's probably never heard of.] That's a special ability certain people have where I'm from. My Semblance lets me control polarity.

[ :') it's fine. it's fine!! ]

Polarity? Could you elaborate a little more on that?

[She nods!! And holds out her hand. The broom on her back has been hanging there for a while now. And now it'll just. float into her hand! Like magic! There's enough metal in it for that.]

Basically, I can control metal.

[ oh...oh. that's actually really cool, and hifumi's absolutely fascinated. she watches as the broom floats into her hand in wonder. ]

Amazing...! Is that something you were born with?

Yes! In a manner of speaking. Actually, it's something that develops over time with people who have become able to master their Auras.

[...oh.]

Which is an extension of my life force. I promise it's simpler than I'm making it sound.

Erm...

[ she is pretty confused. an extension of one's life force sounds dangerous, actually, but hifumi figures it is, indeed, a lot simpler than it sounds. ]

Is that the same sort of thing Nari has? Or is she from a different world than you are?

Oh! You've met Nari? [Her face LIGHTS UP]

Yes, she's from a different world than me, but her abilities are somewhat similar. I only have a couple compared to her. She's amazing.

[She's already on about her GF]

I have. She's very kind and was helpful in getting me situated. [ hifumi smiles; she can tell that pyrrha's very fond of nari.

she can't help but wonder... ]

Um, forgive me if this is presumptuous, but...would you happen to be Nari's girlfriend?

Ah! That's correct, I am! [Was it so easy to tell?] We've been in a relationship for quite some time now.

Hearing that makes me very glad. She really is very helpful, and smart. She's even given me excellent advice over the last year... among other things, too.

I see. It's an honor to meet you, then--um...I don't believe I got your name?

[ ah, but the other girl probably doesn't know her name, either. ] My name is Hifumi Togo. I apologize for not introducing myself earlier.

It's fine, really. I... after what you went through, it's understandable that we'd both forget.

My name is Pyrrha Nikos. [she says with a little bow of her head.] It's a pleasure to meet you, Hifumi.

[ she also gives a little bow. ] I hope we can continue to get along despite our circumstances.

You've been through a lot in a short time... is there anything I can do for you?

I...I'm not quite sure, actually.

[ today has just been a Lot. she's had other people help her, so she's really not sure how else pyrrha can help. even so, she'd hate to trouble her. ]
