July Adventure: Where the Weeds are Now Growing Free
NEW ISLAND: UMUI
Who: Everyone!
What: Umui appears, and a new adventure begins
When: July 10th and onward
Where: Umui
Warnings: Tag as you go!

What: Umui appears, and a new adventure begins
When: July 10th and onward
Where: Umui
Warnings: Tag as you go!

'Cause the Dirt is Up to My Eyes
As of July 10th, the mana pools on Ensō and its islets will now allow for travel to the new island of Umui.
Travelers will arrive on a mana pool situated on the C1 square. The thick crops of flowers spring freely across the lush, grassy landscape, clustered in dense knots. The variety behind these growths seems profoundly limited: it is as though each flower has only sprouted around others of its kind, mingling solely at the edges. A large building looms in the corner of the region, a twisting, unfurling mass of piping and a half-crumbled metallic shine.
Whatever lays inside, or beyond the island's limits, is for you to discover for yourself.
Welcome to the new island of Umui! As the island is now accessible, feel free to begin preparations and explorations in this log, or create new ones of your own! For further information in regards to the island, or plotting, the following links may prove handy:

Whatever, he can't die twice. It's the other skeleton who ought to have someone watching his back. Papyrus doesn't seem to have a lick of common sense. It's not much and he's no fighter, but he's stuck his very own knife into his rope belt. He's keeping up with Papyrus well enough, despite his bad leg.
"Bah, who needs ears! Plenty of good-looking guys don't have ears. Right?"
no subject
“Shouldn’t have any problems hearing each other.” Three very loud people. They could probably stun something if they all yelled. He puts it out of his mind. “Nothing we can build with here.” He calls over his shoulder. The dock looks ruined. It would have to be rebuilt to serve any purpose. He still has spare lumber.
He stays away from the vines his breathing coming out faster than he’d like. They’re just vines. They can’t wrap around him and plunge him down into- He moves forward and prods at the vine with the tip of his blade. “Vines are safe.” He adds.

At least they have the right attitude for all of this. He respects you, skeletons, if only because he knows this is going to be an absolute nightmare for Keith. Lance, on the other hand, is excited to be around some Chatty Cathy's, even if it's not exactly the time or place for getting to know each other.
"I've seen ugly guys with ears, so I guess it could go both ways." Because that is more important than what's around them - which, again, is nothing. The dock is dilapidated and unusable, but there's not even signs of a boat out there. Could be in the water, but...he's not really keen to jump in just yet.

There's a thunk as Papyrus puts a foot forward and stops, peering down at what he's just encountered; a box, half-buried in the sand near the side of the dock. "Wowie, I think I found something!!"
He crouches, attempting to wiggle it out, concentrating hard on getting the sand to give up its half-sunk cargo.
no subject
He hunkers down in the sand with Papyrus, digging away to try and help the other skeleton get the thing out. Sadly, this doesn't stop him from running his mouth about stuff that doesn't matter at all. "And I'm not a monster. One hundred percent genuine earless dead guy."
no subject
"This is tame compared to how bad it can get on these islands." He says, trying to find the corner of the box. It would make it easy to get it out. "When we get it out, let me check it." Aka if something tries to make problems he'll kill it.
no subject
Not...intentionally, anyways.
He does hang back, keeping an eye on the horizon. There's just- just a lot of nothing. "I don't think anything in a box that small could be that dangerous. Or, you know, still alive."
no subject
With their combined efforts, they manage to get the box out. He'd...honestly just crack it open right now, but Keith called dibs first and Papyrus is a skeleton with manners, so he's just gonna put it down on the sand and take a look at it in the meantime.
no subject
It's the other skeleton that's got his attention, mostly. Papyrus, you're a strange one, even by Héctor's incredibly low standards. Like any dog, alive or dead, could fit in such a small box.
...Well, it could be bigger on the inside. Probably is. Yeah, the other three have the right idea. These islands are the worst.
(A dog is still not the most frightening thing that could pop out of the box.)
"Are you that afraid of dogs?"
no subject
Back to business.
He draws Riptide. The sickle made of coral, and various bits of the sea bound together into a lethal weapon is turned so the curving edge is pointed towards a hypothetical throat. If something shoots out he'll rip it across and do serious damage. He works at the box with his other hand. He forces the lid up and over.
Nothing comes out. He flips his sickle and straps it back against his belt. Inside the box tucked up in one corner is a bound up scroll. He eyes it. "Hey. Get a look at this." Keith shifts so the rest of them can take a look.
no subject
Seems like a reasonable fear to him! For as much as any fear a skeleton that claims it's explicitly a monster can be reasonable. Shouldn't a monster skeleton be too fearsome to be fearful?
He hovers near the dock as Keith pries the box open, keeping an eye on the horizon, but once he the box is opened and there's no poison gas pouring out or a dog leaping to bite Keith in the arm, he leans in. It's...kind of disappointing? "Aww, I was hoping it'd be treasure."
no subject
It doesn't seem to be...fear, exactly. More like...complaining about something extremely specific that seems to happen an awful lot.
But no dog springs forth from the box, so any apprehension Papyrus had is immediately thrown to the wind (though if he had any, it's hard to guess).
"Well!! Paper is still important!" Says the guy named after a font that's also named after a paper?? He peers into the box, and picks up the scroll within, carefully unrolling it and angling it so that everyone can see it.
But that's hardly necessary because he's totally going to read it out loud. In that kind of voice that suggests he's read things out loud a thousand times before and by god is not going to stop.
no subject
But then his playful expression fades when the other skeleton starts to read, replaced by something more solemn. So this island they're on once had people, a civilization... probably Enso too. Weird magic and rabbit gods or not, whoever lived here couldn't stop mother nature.
"A tsunami."
no subject
"They mentioned a temple." He's shifting gears from a Mamora scout to Paladin. "We need to inform the others about this. We should also double check this area. If there's one there might be more."
no subject
Temple also means they have something to look for, and Lance rolls his shoulders back. "Would it be worth looking for this temple, too?" Where would it even...be. In the center of the island?
