TiK Tok

Who: Lup ([personal profile] hellawrath), Taako ([personal profile] ohshitsweetflips), Newt ([personal profile] ohnehalfte), and possibly you!
What: Drunken party of drunkenness and shenanigans
When: Nov 17th, mid-day until everyone passes tf out
Where: Islet #2 aka Trash Island, somewhere out in front of cottage 1 and along the beach
Warnings: Drunk people, swearing, ill-advised people hitting each other with sticks, questionable food, drunken cuddles and crying, etc, etc tbc when there's more

Welcome to Islet 2! There are many reasons for you to be here right now. Maybe you live here. Maybe you're visiting someone who lives here. Maybe you've been invited to this sick party by one of the above idiots. Maybe you were just passing by and got dragged into the festivities. Who cares, really? You're here now!

Out in front of Cottage 1 there's the beautiful banner that you see above hanging on the outside, lovingly crafted by one of the twins. The twins have also lovingly crafted some vodka using magic and potatoes. Potato magic. And hey! There's also stuff that the twins cooked! Like potato tornadoes, fried shark genitals and Fantasy Kentucky Fried Pterax! And other food! And there's a fire! And activities! And drinking!

Mainly drinking. In fact, there is a large cooking pot that, at the moment, is full of the most moonshine-iest vodka you have ever had. There are empty halves of coconut shells to serve as cups, as well as some clay cups that may or may not have come from an interesting source. So help yourself! Who knows how long it'll last, considering the amount of guests. Heck! It might even be repurposed later, after all the vodka is gone! So drink up.

Anyway, feel free to join in on the festivities! There will be several threads for activities where people can mingle, or you can start your own. Have a party, chill out, and/or imbibe ill-advised substances to try and forget that you died. Wheeeee!

I mean, if there are, the Storyteller will just bring them back, right? [Put that way, the fatalistic lack of worry most people here seem to display becomes a lot more understandable.]

...Hah. Right. [As much as Ginko tries to hope for the best about this stuff, he still sounds... worried.] Bet they'd appreciate minimizing how much they have to do that, though.

[And, assuming death works the way here that it did in Ryslig (he can't be sure, since he hasn't heard much about its results for those who died in the caves), he assumes the partygoers would appreciate keeping their memories intact.

...Well. As intact as can be expected, seeing how much they're drinking.]

Good question. They definitely have a capability to do it far beyond what I know of.

[A spell that raises the dead without any long-term repercussions simply doesn't exist in Roy's experience. Resurrection is versatile, but still costs a level of experience, as he knows firsthand. The ability of the Storyteller to overcome that penalty is not surprising, but it does raise questions.]

On the other hand, what can they do to stop us?
onegreeneye: ([troll]i will smoke as much as i want)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-02 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah? I'm still kind of new to that being something that can happen at all.

[Ginko isn't sure if they should expect the Storyteller to do anything to keep them all from getting killed, whether they can or not.] Guess that's one more reason we should try and look out for each other ourselves.
greatcleavage: (talky man)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2017-12-02 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'm still new to that not being a thing for most people. [What can you do but shrug and smile in this case?] I think we definitely need to be careful, since coming back from dying doesn't make dying hurt any less or any more fun, and we're all the more likely to end up in situations where it will happen if there's no long-term consequence to it.
onegreeneye: (seriously tho)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-10 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. [He... sort of makes a face at the mention of dying hurting, because... yeah. He may not have been in a situation where coming back from the dead was possible for very long, all things considered, but it has, unfortunately, been long enough for him to experience it for himself a couple times.]

Right... I guess the best we can do is try to keep an eye on the others. And try and talk sense into some of them if it becomes necessary, but... who knows how much good that'll do.

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2017-12-11 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not the others I'm worried about. [Roy himself has come back from dying; it certainly hadn't made him any more eager to risk it a second time. Just the opposite, in fact.] I mean that if the Storyteller sees no other way to solve a problem then by clogging it with bodies, that is actually a viable solution from their perspective.
onegreeneye: ([troll]side-eyeing you pretty hard rn)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-16 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
...Mm. Hopefully they'll know to be more careful about that now.

[Ginko is pretty sure, after all, that the Storyteller's intention wasn't actually to get a bunch of people killed. He'd rather give them the benefit of the bout until they start in on... well, the kinds of shit the Ryslig gods pulled.]
greatcleavage: (talky man)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2017-12-16 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That all depends on what their goals are. [Roy had already extensively written his opinions on the message stone, and had received... well, significant pushback would be possibly underselling it. No need to rant just at the moment.]
onegreeneye: (meh)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-19 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
I guess it does. Which... we can't know for sure, just yet, I suppose.

[He sighs and pushes a hand through his hair.]

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2017-12-19 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. But that's a terrible thing to think about during what's supposed to be a party.

[Though Roy isn't in a partying mood -- and hasn't been since he arrived here. Nor is he much good at pretending he is, but he'll at least try to get into something of the spirit. Or maybe just not try to ruin it for others.]
onegreeneye: (whuh)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-26 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
...It is, isn't it.

[See, this is why Ginko doesn't do parties. Especially not these days.]

What should we talk about?
greatcleavage: (talky man)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2017-12-26 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hmm. Well, the first thing that comes to mind is, 'So what's your world like?' But Roy doesn't like being asked that question, since his world is a pretty standard fantasy campaign setting, but no one can just accept that comment for what it is.]

So what did you do before you came here?
onegreeneye: ([troll]i will smoke as much as i want)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-28 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
That... depends on if you mean in my own world, or the last place I got, uh... kidnapped to. Which. If you don't mind, I'd rather talk about the former.

[Lingering trauma and bitterness about his last world aside...]

I studied a type of organism common in my world; they were called mushi. They worked differently from most living things, so working with them in particular was a... pretty interesting line of work.
greatcleavage: (confused)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2017-12-28 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing they were in some way supernatural? [In a strange fantasy universe such as he comes from, if you say an organism works different, that's the obvious answer. Of course, his world has things like intellect devourers and slaad, so honestly it's pretty commonplace. Relatively speaking.]
onegreeneye: (...)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2017-12-31 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... sort of. I guess that's one way of putting it.

See, mushi were a totally natural part of my world, but they were still unique among organisms. They didn't really have bodies the way most living things do. Rather than matter, they were mostly made up of life force; as such, they could have some unusual effects on the world around them.
greatcleavage: (talky man)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2018-01-01 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess that's kind of a failing of the term 'supernatural', in that a normal part of an ecosystem can still be described as such simply because it has magical powers... [Roy's shoulders rise just a hair, the mildest of shrugs.] I know how that goes. I mean, we have dragons and beholders and so forth.
onegreeneye: (well then)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2018-01-04 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Guess so. Though I'm not sure I'd describe mushi as 'magical', either. [That's literally just you, Ginko, most people would definitely describe them as magical.]

...Beholders?
