Welcome to Islet 2! There are many reasons for you to be here right now. Maybe you live here. Maybe you're visiting someone who lives here. Maybe you've been invited to this sick party by one of the above idiots. Maybe you were just passing by and got dragged into the festivities. Who cares, really? You're here now!

Out in front of Cottage 1 there's the beautiful banner that you see above hanging on the outside, lovingly crafted by one of the twins. The twins have also lovingly crafted some vodka using magic and potatoes. Potato magic. And hey! There's also stuff that the twins cooked! Like potato tornadoes, fried shark genitals and Fantasy Kentucky Fried Pterax! And other food! And there's a fire! And activities! And drinking!

Mainly drinking. In fact, there is a large cooking pot that, at the moment, is full of the most moonshine-iest vodka you have ever had. There are empty halves of coconut shells to serve as cups, as well as some clay cups that may or may not have come from an interesting source. So help yourself! Who knows how long it'll last, considering the amount of guests. Heck! It might even be repurposed later, after all the vodka is gone! So drink up.

Anyway, feel free to join in on the festivities! There will be several threads for activities where people can mingle, or you can start your own. Have a party, chill out, and/or imbibe ill-advised substances to try and forget that you died. Wheeeee!

Ardyn hid a snort of laughter behind his hand, Hresvelgr ruffling her feathers and tilting her head at McCree over her owner's shoulder.

"Irrelevant semantics. The fire's better now, problem's solved."

"So you're admittin' it ain't fixed!" Not that it was a competition or anything. Still, he's going to count it as a win.

He's also going to be immediately distracted from gloating because of the appearance of his New Best Friend. "Who's that?" If he leans closer he's going to get up in Ardyn's space, and while normally he would be aware of boundaries and keeping out of bubbles, this...This is important. Hope you enjoy faces in your shoulder. "Never seen a bird that looks like that."

"She's a chocobo."

It sounded a lot like 'dumbass' should have gone on the end of that sentence. Ardyn planted a hand on McCree's shoulder, shoving him back to arm's length. "You mean you're not a chocobo rancher? You look like one. Almost. If chocobo ranchers dressed as impractically as possible."

"So really not like a chocobo rancher at all."

"I don't know if you're bein' serious about the rancher thing, but I've never been on a ranch 'fore either." He's also not going to make any effort to move away from where Ardyn's shoved him, instead just blinking slowly at Ardyn as he raises a hand to rub at his shoulder. That hurt his feelings more than him, at least.

"An' I ain't familiar with chocobos, which is why I asked in the first place! They native to these islands or somethin'?"

Also, his clothing isn't impractical. The chaps make his legs look even longer and more shapely and the spurs can double as weapons so that means it's the most practical outfit possible??? Gosh??

"No, because this island is terrible. What kind of miserable world doesn't even have chocobos? One scarcely worth wasting time on, that's what."

Ardyn was not one to throw stones about fashion. Not now, not ever, but that sure didn't stop him.

"The islands ain't terrible because of a lack'a chocobos an' you know it." Or...he assumes you know it. He's also going to try to reach out to pet Hresvelgr, because maybe this time Ardyn won't push him away? "I mean, I like to think Earth was alright if you ignored all the shit that got stirred up by the Crisis and we didn't have nothin' like a chocobo. Chickens an' shit, yeah, but not no chocobos."

"It's terrible for many reasons, that's just a particularly annoying one." Ardyn shrugged, not bothering to fight the invasion of his personal space this time. The softball-sized bird fluttered far too short wings and bumped her head against McCree's hand, greeting him with an excited wark.

"Considerin' there's none in the way of positives for this place I guess I can't really refute that." Nor does he really want to. This place is awful, but.. This the best thing that's ever happened to McCree. Ever. He feels as if he's been blessed by an angel. "This little birdie's gotta have a name, right?"

Also there might be tears welling up in his eyes. He just...he feels so touched.

He has been blessed by the roundest baby chocobo to ever exist. Truly, this day is the best day of his life.

"Her name is Hresvelgr. She scarcely looks like much, but I assure you she'll grow far taller than this."

Nothing will ever top the day he fell in love.

"Hresv-is she a vikin' or somethin'? That's a hell of a name." Maybe when he's more sober he'll give it another try, but for now it'll do. "How big do these things get?"

Like, if you can ranch 'em...does that mean you can ride 'em?

"It's an appropriate and suitable name."

He gave the matter serious consideration for a second or two, then answered the question by holding a hand out to indicate something only slightly taller than Ardyn himself.

...Which was almost alarming, considering he was about 6'5" because square enix is full of shit.

"Ain't an answer to the question I was askin', but a vikin' bird would be pretty cool." The only thing he knows that comes close to a viking would be Lindholm. He's definitely got the attitude for one.

Also that is alarming hell, even if Ardyn was the height some certain people claim he is a bird that tall would be alarming. He lets out a low whistle. "That's a mighty big bird you've got on the horizon, sir."

"Well, naturally. It would be hard to ride one if they were any smaller, would it not? It's hardly any fun raising a chocobo if you can't eventually ride it."

Suddenly, he is overcome with intense jealousy. Why do you get cool birds in your world, Ardyn?

“How long you reckon it’s gonna take ‘fore she reaches that size?”

"Hm...hard to say, actually. It's been a long time since I raised a chocobo myself...a year or so, possibly?"

"A year? Shoot, that's a hell of a long time to be waitin' on ol' Hrev." Or is it? He doesn't know anything about animals.
