Who: Terra, Trashw Keaton and OPEN
What: Out and about on the main island now that the flooding has stopped
When: 11/10
Where: NONE OF YOUR BEESWA- er. Enso and the Islets (..sounds like a band name). Allll over.
[1: Wandering Around, Surveying the Damage]
[ The flooding did quite a number on the island, and Terra had been curious about what the effects it would have, personally - plus, she hadn't been sleeping well, so some fresh air usually helped. Usually- the air was anything but fresh and clean on the mainland. Especially near the water - it smelled like dead fish. She paused on the beach for a little bit, just observing the area, her stomach turning at the sheer stench, before she rather suddenly pivoted to walk away, shuddering. The plantlife wasn't doing much better on that front for that matter. So far into her thoughts was she that she couldn't even muster her usual energy as she made her way along the beach. ]
[2: Closed for Keaton and Terra's Adventurin' Hijinx]
[ With all the dead fish and plants from the flooding, Terra had sauntered down to the beach to look for Keaton - figuring from their conversation, it was the most likely place he'd be right now thanks to his love of disgustingly smelly things. Ick. Well, to each their own, although she had to admit Keaton was the first person..wolf..person that she's ever met who actually LIKED the smell of dead things. But thinking about that lead her mind to a darker thought she shied away from. Her walk earlier did successfully wake her up enough that she could feign her usual cheer at least, and that was a good thing - she already accidentally worried Keaton once. She'd rather not do so again. ]
[3: Wildcard]
[ Terra can be found in various parts of the island and on any of the islets today. Normally her walks only take her from Islet #1 to the mainland where she'll explore a bit, but today she's getting in a little extra wandering time and visiting other islets for what is probably the first time in the last month or so. She might be perched up in a tree chilling out with the birds, hanging out by a mana pool or even checking out other things - anything can happen! ]

Whatcha doin' up there, Terra?
Re: wildcard
Oh, Mickey. I'm just watching the birds. [ She glanced over at them again. ]
They're really cute.
Re: wildcard
Sounds like you made a bunch of friends up there!
Re: wildcard
Not yet. These ones are still scared - they fly away if I try to move towards them. But that's all right, I don't mind. Sometimes if I'm really still, they come closer. [ and if she's perfectly motionless, not even paying them any mind, one will perch on her foot. Briefly. ]
What brings you by?
Re: wildcard
I'm just doin' a check up on everyone. Food's gettin' a little harder to come by, so I wanted to see how how everyone was doing.
Re: wildcard
I was looking around earlier too. The flood did quite a bit of damage - there were a lot of plants and fishes that were unsalvageable. But Keaton and I found some blue animals that might be edible. I brought a few of them to Roy's farm earlier this morning.
But as far as food.. I'm fine for a while. I don't eat much. If someone needs food though, I can lend them some of mine.
Re: wildcard
I'll keep that in mind! Glad to hear it worked out for you and Keaton! He seemed like a nice fella.
[Weird, but nice. ... which describes 99% of the island to him really]
Re: wildcard
He is very nice. It's .. a little strange that he likes things like.... trash and dead animals, though. He gets very excited, just talking about them.

Hopefully things won't be terrable
His tail is going ballistic behind him as he combs the beach, both from the excitement of a treasure hunt and for another reason. Someone might have remembered what they are at long last.
When he spots Terra off to the side he turns and waves excitedly at her.]
Isn't this the best thing ever?! I knew there would be lots of treasures around after the water went away!
That pun sure was! BAD Sir Keaton WoofWoof!
Heehee. You look happy.
[ That was a huge underestatement though. His tail was a propeller at this point. It might whopwhop sand off the beach entirely just from the breeze of its wagging. ]
How long have you been out here?
I thought it would have you howling but now I'm in the doghouse
[He is absolutely that happy and any attempt to say otherwise doesn't do him much good with his tail going so fast. And yet he tries all the same.
As for the question, Keaton looks around for a moment and takes in a deep breath. Mm, wonderful.]
I've been here for... I dunno, since morning? I've pretty much been over this entire section of beach looking for stuff to collect.
-30 points from Puppydor~! XD
I was just going to look around a little further than my usual route and see if I could find anything interesting. Would you like to come with me? [ It's always nice to have company when exploring! Even when th at company was interested in actual garbage. ]
He'll get those points back in the house cup its fiiine
I'm pretty busy out here... But if you really want me to come with then I can't refuse. We might find something cool out there for all we know. [So that's a roundabout yes for the adventuring idea!] Whereabouts are we headed?
We believe in Doghouse Puppydor!
Well.. I would like some company, but if you're busy, I can go alone. [ Still his agreement was pleasing, and she actually let out a quiet sigh. After the dreams she's had lately, she didn't really want to be alone that much. Even if half the time she went out alone. Spending time watching the birds was totaly a legit way to keep her mind off of things right? ]
Towards the eastern side of the island. I don't think there's been too many search parties out that way lately. .. and I'm hoping to find something that can help everyone here.

Hey you've already asked me, I'm not backing out now. You clearly want me around with you. [Which is fine with him despite how he insists on trying to come across and not eager.]
But okay, the east side it is. [That's. Which direction? Keaton turns and faces south.] If we even get near anything interesting or helpful then don't worry, I'll sniff it out.
no subject
Thank you, Keaton. [ Also it really is hard for her not to want to touch those ears, but that would probably be rude. Instead she folds her hands, starting off in the easterly direction. Hi ho! ]
All right, then I'll rely on your sense of --um...? [ Did... he see something interesting south of them? ]
Keaton?

Let's go with option 1.
[Terra, as it turns out, is not the only person trying to assess the damage- although it's not surprising that she managed to miss Muffet's approach in her distracted state. The spider lady seems calm as ever, if a little concerned on Terra's behalf.]

Good morning, Muffet. I'm....as well as I can be. [ Certainly better off than people who arrived with memory problems or hearing problems, and definitely better off than people who recently came back from the dead. Nightmares seemed like such an...insignificant thing in comparison. ]
Are you here to look at the beach too?
no subject
Yes, I wanted to see how the flood waters had changed things... I think I may be about to preserve a lot of fish in the near future, if we don't want any more of it to go to waste.
no subject
Preserve them..? I thought that most of them were already rotting.. are there ones still good? how would you be able to preserve them?
no subject
Any of the older ones are inedible by now, certainly, but the most recent ones might still be usable if I can get to them in time. I was planning on salting them, since I have plenty of it to spare.
no subject
Salting? So if you put salt on the other ones, they won't rot?
no subject
Technically, yes- salting meat to preserve it involves rubbing the salt in more thoroughly and in much greater quantities than just putting on the little amount you'd use to season your food.
no subject
That's interesting..! I've never done that before. [ Preserved food with salt. Or used seasoning. The first time she ever tried Ignis' cooking was like ambrosia. And would always be. She had a great deal of appreciation to thinks others might have taken for granted. ]
