October Aftermath: Crystal Clear

Who: All!
What: You're back, for better or worse. Time to recover.
When: Backdated to the 24th and beyond.
Where: The Monkey Compound, Islets, etc.
Warnings: Mark as you go.

No matter where you are on the morning of the 24th, things will very abruptly go dark.

Unless you're dead. In which case, things are already dark. And you do not see this.

For the rest of you, however, the Storyteller appears only briefly. Gone is their seemingly indifferent nature; as the rabbit hops too and throe, the pages of their tome flick back and forth in an erratic pattern, stopping on a blank page for only a moment, before continuing on. Despite the pages always turning in the one direction, there seems to be no end to them, not at all.

"I'll keep this brief, for the moment. All of you have now been removed from the caverns below," A haggard sigh- and a reluctant addition. "Those of you still alive.

"Your efforts have allowed me access to what lies below. I have sealed off the entrances- from now, the responsibility of cleaning up the mess is upon me."

And that appears to be it. Darkness returns, along with the sensation of lying upon the sand. Birds call out from the jungle, joining the rhythmic shift of the waves. No matter where you were on the island; underground, or above, you awaken upon the shoreline near the Storyteller's temple, along with the rest of the survivors.

"For what it is worth, I am truly sorry."

[[If you have yet to do so, make sure you confirm your character's death here!]]

[He smiles at them, and it's so wide, and Kittu still can't read past it; can't dig up anything from underneath that friendly little sound that bounces up from his throat. But this time, they're not as worried about that. They don't need to be able to read him to understand - it's all in the response he gives. Kind, and gentle, and a little bit over the top. They're touched that he's trying so hard.]

[To play off the fact that they both know he's doing them a favor.]

[Kittu wishes they were brave enough to explain themself, smart enough to untangle their own muddled web of unease, but he's offering them time. Maybe that's what they need, first. It's generous of an adult they've never done a single thing for, and though the smile they turn back up at him is entirely genuine, it doesn't escape Kittu's notice that it's not the only generosity he's providing for them.]

[Maybe, if they were of a different mind, they could have shown their gratitude with a an innocent bit of flirting. Right now - there's too many things to doubt.]

Are you sure you have enough?

Of course! [Especially since he hasn't told Ichimatsu he got them. He'll just have to collect some more for him, later- a sacrifice he's willing to make, in this instance.] In fact, I probably picked too much. Better you eat them, or else they'll go to waste.

[Crouching down, he gathers up the pile he'd so carelessly displaced, holding up a few here and there for Frisk to take. In the end, the kid is carrying less than a third of the pile- but that's fine. They're still helping, right?]

We have some coconuts too, if you're thirsty...

After you, my flower.
