October Intro: Aftermath Mingle
Who: All!
What: Now that you've all committed monkey genocide, it's time to clean up and go home.
When: Evening of the intro log- and onwards!
Where: The Monkey Compound, Islets, etc.
Warnings: Mark as you go!

Congratulations on effectively reversing the tables, adventurers. As the hunted become the hunters, the remaining simians begin to retreat into the jungle, disappearing from sight as the drumming dies down, before extinguishing entirely.
It appears that you have won.
Now it's time to clean up.
Those still in the Monkey Compound may wish to begin scavenging what they can, from multiple coconut guns to rudimentary spears. There's a flock of Bludroc happy to be herded to a new home, several stashes of fresh fruit to be found... and a rather large iron pot, for the particularly bold.
Others may be more concerned with returning to the islets and securing the personal belongings that were left behind. There are new people to settle in, as well; and undoubtedly, a few injuries yet to be healed.
Reunite, rejoice, recover. And perhaps, should you see the Storyteller about- ask a few questions.

Supply chains. He'd never heard of that but he used to be some normal student.
"How long ago did people start appearing on the island?" If he can build a timeline of events it's one step closer to the truth.
"I think we can narrow this down if we establish that and figure how long it would take to build everything here. ...If it's too much time to build this compound then we can assume this has been here for a while." He already has that assumption but he wants to be sure beyond any doubt.

He frowns to himself, putting his hands on his hips. More than one island. Do...islands usually appear in groups? That sounds like it would make sense, but he honestly has no idea.
"They's th' little ones. Islets. Where th' houses are."
He's not sure how new this guy is. Some people showed up on the island right in the middle of the attack, and he's pretty sure some of them were immediately kidnapped.
"Ain't seen 'nother island. Not t'the north 'r west, 'least."
The south, and in particular the southwestern part of the island, haven't been reached yet. Exploration fell by the wayside during the storm, and then this attack happened.
"Couple months. I showed up wi' th' firs' group. Weren't no one else 'ere. Jus' Ruins. Th' Storyteller said somethin' 'bout folk bein' here afore. Never did mention monkeys."
He looks around at the ruined compound. No, this probably couldn't have been put together in only two months. Maybe if the monkeys were extremely disciplined and organized.

"What exactly did the Storyteller say? Word for word, if you remember it." South had been left out. He'd ask about that in a moment. The more he learns the more he has deeper misgivings.

If they could have interrogated one of the monkeys they might know more, but Kid is pretty sure they didn't speak. It's a little odd, maybe, that things seem to happen here on a monthly basis. Like a full moon. People show up once a month, and this third time around, the monkeys showed up too.
Kid rubs his chin, trying to remember.
"They said they was asleep fer a real long time. An afore that, they was a god all proper-like. Lotta folk on th' island t'worship 'em, give 'em power. Civil'zation 'n such. Figger tha's where th' temple came from."

Yes. This is an investigation he can stomach and put all his energy towards. “Thank you. I think I have a better idea of some of the mysteries to look into. ...whatever they built this place for. It might be important to remember we can run here to defend ourselves.” He is not tactical genius but even he can see the sense in thick fortifications. “I’m Hinata, sorry for not introducing myself before.” He smiles a little sheepishly. Introductions always feel awkward and embarrassing.

The same thing that generally happens to people given enough time, he figures. But he's not going to say that.
"Place 's one big mystery. Good t'have someone wantin' t' solve it."
People have been so preoccupied with simply surviving--Kid included--that there just hasn't been time to think about the rest of it. About why they're all really here, about how they even got here. About all the ruins on the island, all the ancient overgrown farms, the strange creatures, the weird doors and symbols.
"Call me Kid. Nice t'meet ya, Hinata."
He offers a hand to shake.

"Not as I kin think 'f righ' now. Whole place is a lot diff'ernt from home. Ain't got those mana pools or magic stuff. Still gettin' useta some 'f it."

He shakes his head. There's a lot of things that "disappear" could mean.
"Mebe they...go home."
Maybe they're, at the very least, somewhere better.
