October Intro: Aftermath Mingle

Who: All!
What: Now that you've all committed monkey genocide, it's time to clean up and go home.
When: Evening of the intro log- and onwards!
Where: The Monkey Compound, Islets, etc.
Warnings: Mark as you go!

Congratulations on effectively reversing the tables, adventurers. As the hunted become the hunters, the remaining simians begin to retreat into the jungle, disappearing from sight as the drumming dies down, before extinguishing entirely.

It appears that you have won.

Now it's time to clean up.

Those still in the Monkey Compound may wish to begin scavenging what they can, from multiple coconut guns to rudimentary spears. There's a flock of Bludroc happy to be herded to a new home, several stashes of fresh fruit to be found... and a rather large iron pot, for the particularly bold.

Others may be more concerned with returning to the islets and securing the personal belongings that were left behind. There are new people to settle in, as well; and undoubtedly, a few injuries yet to be healed.

Reunite, rejoice, recover. And perhaps, should you see the Storyteller about- ask a few questions.

Oh, very well. She let his hand go, pleasantly embarrassed by his attentions. Of course she was capable of tying her own shoes, but for Noctis to offer like this, to be treated--well, like a princess... just for now, she stretched out her feet and indulged in letting him indulge her. It was nice.

"Even I never dreamed I might be waited on by kings," she teased, though quietly, remembering he hadn't wanted her to linger on that title. Reminded of his needs, she paused, then reached out very gently to touch his face. "And are you all right, Noctis?" she asked. "Were you safe, during today's struggles?"

"Nothing I couldn't handle." Though the fatigue was definitely apparent on his face. After the fight, and making sure that everyone around him was good to go, he had set off to find his friends. There had been a brief stop at the mana pool, but it only served to give him a quick burst of energy.

"You're all by yourself?" Maybe she had run into Prompto or Ignis or Nyx.

"At the moment, yes. It became more prudent for me to be here, where those who sought healing and shelter might find it, than to remain on the field of battle." She dipped her head gratefully to unseen others. "But many were those who aided me to this point."

Miss Muffet, Sir Greenhilt, Soma... and new friends, like Mira and Karin. Her smile widened a touch.

"And, in spite of the circumstances, it was quite the pleasant surprise to see Sir Ulric once more."

At least she hadn't ended up in the situation alone. Still. . ."Nyx left you alone here?" At first there was a lump in the pit of his chest. He knew, Nyx knew what happened and. . . .

But he also knew better than anyone else how capable Lunafreya was. Plus, his own location and the others were still unknown. He probably went to look for them. Before Noctis could boil over, he composed himself.

"We have a . . . .shack close by. Are you okay to walk with me?" This reunion was a bit less softer than their last. He was still on alert from earlier in the day. He still hadn't found Ignis or Prompto. So, needless to say he was on edge. There was no telling if more of those things could show up.

Heroes gotta hero, healers gotta heal. Whether or not Nyx left her alone or here, this was the place to which Luna had eventually made her way; Miss Muffet had mentioned petitioning the local deity for aid, and naturally, Luna had been on that like white on a wedding dress.

"Yes, I can manage." That would be her answer even if she couldn't manage, but she must--and what Lunafreya must do, she can. Without so much as a squeak of complaint, though she would most definitely be sore come morning, Lunafreya used her trident to haul herself up and stood, quite the sight in her ruined dress and Noctis's sneakers.

"A shack, is it? For all four of you?" Sir Ulric, Sir Scientia, Prompto, Noctis... She had no way of knowing whether or not they were all housed together, but the thought of the four of them living like that, roughing it like men, was faintly amusing in her worn state.

"Nyx has his own shack." He stood close, full or worry. He wanted to make sure that she didn't topple over. He was even prepared to carry her if need be. Of all times for her to come on this island. . ..

The past two months had been unremarkable, and although they had to make do with building a shelter and scavenging - it was pretty safe. Now he wasn't so sure. He didn't want to completely dote, act as if she was helpless. He knew she wasn't. It was just hard.

"Ready?" We should keep an eye out for the others while we go.

Whether she felt Noctis's concern or some need of her own, Lunafreya moved her hand to the crook of his arm, holding on to him rather than the Trident of the Oracle for support.

"Yes. Let us meet with your friends."

It was still so surreal to have her here. And, even in her exhausted state, in his exhausted state - she was the most beautiful site to ever see. He had been so determined to get her to safety, that this was the first breather he took.

When she grabbed onto the nook of his arm like that, he felt his heart flutter. His stomach formed a pit. And it wasn't just because he was hungry. In a selfish way, he just wanted to take his time getting back to their islet. He wanted to be alone with her for as long as he could stretch it out. "I'm so glad I found you. . ." And for the first time that day, he looked at her and smiled - grateful and warm.

Just like that, her heart was full. Everything she'd done in life had been for this boy--this man. And now, she knew that she'd chosen well.

To have gone through so much and still smile like that, Noctis was a king to be proud of. Truly, truly, he was blessed by the light. Luna smiled in return, the moon returning some portion of the love of the sun.

"Not nearly as glad as I am to be found."
