Who: Muffet and Sieglinde.
What: Attempts at modern fashion suddenly impeded by rain.
When: September 23rd.
Where: Islet three, Muffet's house.
Warnings: None in particular.
[Muffet had been idly considering a few designs ever since she realized how impractical the poor child's clothing really was for the island, but she didn't want to go too far into designing something without asking her first. A nice visit to sort out potential designs for a bit, since they finally had some free time with nothing dangerous going on, sounded like a nice way to spend the afternoon.]
[Unfortunately, neither of them anticipated the sudden change in the weather...]

But it's always nice to talk to people, and she's very interested in what Muffet's house must look like. And she's going to get a cute new outfit.
When the first few drops of rain start coming down, Sieglinde starts up, attention pulled away from Muffet.]
Oh! It is raining. Do you have a device to collect the water? [Rainbarrels are very important.]

[This is by design. Muffet has plans for that space, now that she's got her living area properly in order.]
[The nice thing about only needing to cover half the house is that she could use wood from the other half of the roof to supplement her repairs of the half that remained, along whatever she could use her small saw to carve up from the trees on the main island. The end result is that she has a small but comfortable room to store her possessions and hang up her hammock, with a roof repaired well enough not to leak.]
[When she hears the first few drops of rain fall, she calmly gets up to secure the curtain to the doorframe with a pair of small ties she wove in at the bottom for this purpose, so that it won't get blown around and start letting the storm in.]
No, I'm afraid not. I was fortunate enough to receive clean water as part of the supplies I arrived with, and at the last storytelling I was provided with a device for desalinating ocean water to render it clean and drinkable, so collecting more hasn't been an urgent priority.

I want to see it. ["It" might not be clear enough, so she clarifies.]
The desalination machine. I want to see how it works.

[She reaches into the depths of the makeshift wooden shelf standing against the far wall, and carefully pulls out a small metal device, which she places in front of Sieglinde for the girl to examine.]
