Goal: Obtain Suitable Clothing, Make Storm Repairs
Who: Isabella and YOU [first prompt locked to Luup and Taako]
What: Daily Life, with a side of finding trousers
When: Sept. 24
Where: the Islets, Enso (around the temple)
Warnings: Will edit in as needed
1 -- closed to Lup and Taako
Isabella had done fieldwork in skirts, but not the sort she wore for an afternoon at home. She'd heard that others had managed to make clothing, so was setting off to look for that. On the other hand, all she knew was 'elves'. But it couldn't be that hard to find two of what should be mythological creatures among the several dozen inhabitants.
Specific mythological creatures, rather than the ones she kept running into, like Muffet and Sans.
Well, no sense putting it off more. "Excuse me?"
2 -- open, Enso
Isabella was being cautious, since the incident with the fustercluck had shown that her intuition about what properly belongs on islands is horribly, horribly wrong. (She's not sure that creature belongs anywhere, to be frank, outside of her nightmares.) So she is staying close to the temple while gathering what she can recognize as vegetables -- never more than one person can eat, though she may consider larger patches. "I wonder if we could transplant these to the islets if we had a trowel."
3 -- open, Islet 4
Also, given the thunderstorm, there is repair work to do. If it wasn't for the stone here, Isabella would pack up and head to Enso, because these islets have no windbreak and her attempts at a roof for her shack was now looking pretty torn up. Consequently, she is picking through the debris, seeing what can be salvaged. Hopefully you won't be fighting her over coconut-leaf thatch.

Hello, dearie. I see the weather's been rather unkind to you, lately...

Re: 3
[She recalls reading something about the properties of spider silk, but Isabella is used to a large spider being 'the size of your hand' not 'the size of a person'.]

Re: 3
[Muffet begins spinning out a length of silk cord, thin strands coming from her wrists and being woven together by another pair of hands in a practiced motion. She's going at a steady, careful pace, so as not to strain herself, but it's interesting to watch it taking shape.]
Re: 3
Do you need anything?
Re: 3
I appreciate the thought, but I don't require anything in particular. If I kept going for too long I'd need food, water, and rest, like with any other physical effort- but I know my limits there well enough to avoid pushing them.

FINALLY SORRy
Boy howdy, those sure are a lot of old-timey clothes not at all suited to island life. He really wishes he had time to make a bet on what this lady is after, assuming (incorrectly) Lup would be foolish enough to take it. "Sorry, slow day." He grins, lazy and unapologetic. Go on, ask to speak to the manager. "What are you looking for?"

As this overdressed customer, who looks way more like someone they used to steal from than do honest business with, interrupts their cozy sibling hangout sesh, Lup matches her twin's lazy grin to a T. "And what's your opinion on the merits of eating cookie dough straight outta the bowl?"
No worries
"I don't suppose you have any trousers for barter? And, I've never eaten cookie dough raw. When I was a child, the cook would have shooed me out of the kitchen if I tried."

That was a fun performance, but this is still a business, and he's finally ready to treat it as such, turning his full attention on a polite customer and ignoring his troll of a sister completely. "I oughta just give you trousers for backing me up, here." He's not going to. "Considering the uh, the diversity of this island, stuff like that's pretty much custom order only. Soooo, yes and no, to answer your question?" Is this still within the bounds of fae behaviour? Actually, it probably is.

It might be easier to go find the Storyteller, but Isabella trusts real living beings who have to gather real materials to make clothing than magical beings that can conjure things out of the ether. That can be the backup plan.
