[OPEN]

Who: Anyone, everyone, whoever.
What: B a s e b a l l
When: Early March
Where: Enso
Warnings: will add as needed

[It's BASEBALL time and Ren has invited every unfortunate soul who crosses her path to play this game. Well, it's less of an invite and more of a competitive threat. Jyushimatsu and her did defeat the mighty sheep in a game of baseball wits. That's worth something.

There's a single bat, glove and ball to play with and she'll quickly try to sort people into teams, no matter how many are around or wander by. There's no escape. Anyone who walks into this area will be dragged into the game. The equipment will be there all day for people to use, though she's going to be watching it carefully, since this is something she would definitely steal, if it weren't already in her possession, so she doesn't want anyone thinking the same.

There are also randomly cooked eggs because she's not a heathen!!! She tried to make food okay. It's eggs. Only eggs. She's calling them pizza rolls, but they're definitely oddly shaped scrambled eggs. And some soup, but who knows what's in there. Probably some grass. Whatever. She tried!! She brought snacks, like the good aunt she is.

Feel free to treat this is as an open mingle log or do whatever. Ren will explain the rules as she knows them which is:

'You have to win!'

'Someone throws the ball and you have to hit it and run.'

'If someone catches it, you're 'out' and if you hit really far, that's a homerun and you get 50 points.'

'You can't break someone's nose. That won't give you points.'

'If you find a cool treasure, you get ten points. And if you see a bee and say hello, you get ten points and if you sing a song when someone gets a homerun, you get ten points and-'

Honestly she might say any number of odd ass things that will get people extra points. None of it's true, but she's hellbent on her ways. Feel free to assume whatever. And do whatever!!

[The Drifter flashes her a thumbs-up briefly before adjusting their grip on the bat. Besides, they've faith that she won't purposefully injure them. They certainly injured themself enough while going up against a child with an incredible grasp on the logistics of soccer.]

[Injuries in the name of victory is all part of the game.]

[Hit them with your best shot.]

[Not intentionally, at least. Beau has gotten a lot better at that, even if she hasn't exactly tested if she can body tackle them without murder. It's fine. They got a dragon together, what does she have to worry about?

She's quiet for a few moments, stark still, until she chucks it right at them with a--]

[Crack.]

[The ball doesn't go very far, but their swing does connect. It sails in a shallow arc, barely makes it to the "outfield," shall we say, but the instant it goes flying the Drifter is sprinting like they've got wild plant beasts at their heels, nyooming resolutely across whatever ephemera people are currently using to substitute a baseball diamond.]

[Catch them if you can.]

[Beau's kind of lost track on what the rules are supposed to be at this stage; she's pretty sure they just have to hit the ball, and then you have to catch them. She doesn't really know you're supposed to get the ball first, but that doesn't especially matter. As soon as they take off so does she, not even trying to go after them but moving sideways to cut them off at the pass. Instead of running for first or even second 'base' (or whatever passes for them), she makes a leap somewhere between 2nd and 3rd, just where she's pretty sure they'll connect if they're going too fast to stop.]

[They see Beau moving to intercept, but while changing direction is a simple matter, stopping outright without slamming into something is not. So the Drifter settles instead for doubling back, because hey, this is Anarchy Baseball - there are no rules. They go zipping and zigzagging back along the way they came, trying to capitalize on the unpredictability of the strategy to fake her out.]
