What: Jay fell unconscious in Rosswood Park and woke up on a magic island. He's not yet sure if this is a good thing.
When: January 29th, morning
Where: The Storyteller's Temple
Warnings: Language, Jay being an anxious wreck; will update as things come up!

This is wrong. Deeply, deeply wrong. He's either still dreaming, or he's still hallucinating, or he's dead, because the only remaining option doesn't just happen.

Sure, maybe the supernatural exists, but it doesn't talk to you in your dreams, and it doesn't spare you from getting your memories scraped out of your head by that thing, and it doesn't drop you off in...okay, maybe it does drop you off in an overgrown, abandoned building, but not one that looks like this.

He leans up against something that definitely isn't a mana pool, because mana pools don't exist. His phone is gone. His camera--shit, his camera's dripping, and the viewfinder screen won't light up, and it won't even turn on, it just keeps making this thin, whining noise before fizzling out again, and come on come on COME ON this can't happen

She doesn't seem particularly interested in Jay's emotional turmoil, giving a little roll of the eyes to indicate as much. Beau saw that hesitancy though, the way he almost gave things up for free in his eagerness to find something right. Good stuff to keep on file. "That's how everybody starts out here. Might get lucky, find somebody, but chances are you're just gonna be a wreck. Pretty standard."

Beau shrugs, dropping that thread as soon as it's reached the conclusion she thinks it needs, and carries on. "I'm not gonna be your welcome wagon though. Go bother the people at the Denny or something. Tim will answer all your dumb questions."

No, he won't. Beau knows this. But she also knows him well enough to know he'll hate it, and that's exactly why she's pointing Jay there while unaware of the implications of such an act.

As usual, the perceived panic or otherwise concern from him goes right past her-- or rather, doesn't affect her. She's always watching, in fact quite closely, but she isn't wrapped up in the emotional issues of all of it for as long as she can manage. So Beau looks at him, once again, like he's a fool before she responds.

"Tim like... bartender Tim, I dunno. He runs the place. Been here forever. Mid-height, dark hair, kinda floppy." She gestures over her head as if that means literally anything. "Smokes a lot, fucking paranoid. You know him?"

"Yeah, facial hair, sure." Beau seems pretty nonplussed, giving a shrug. "Look, shaving around here sucks, who knows what anybody's hair stuff looks like. You'll know him when you see him, he basically lives at the Denny and he'll look at you like you're crazy no matter what you say to him."

She raises an eyebrow at him, cocking her head a bit to the side. "You gonna ask me a million more questions or what? I don't have all day. It might look like I do, because this place is a pit, but that doesn't mean I want to spend it talking to you."
