Who: Jay Merrick and You
What: Jay fell unconscious in Rosswood Park and woke up on a magic island. He's not yet sure if this is a good thing.
When: January 29th, morning
Where: The Storyteller's Temple
Warnings: Language, Jay being an anxious wreck; will update as things come up!

This is wrong. Deeply, deeply wrong. He's either still dreaming, or he's still hallucinating, or he's dead, because the only remaining option doesn't just happen.

Sure, maybe the supernatural exists, but it doesn't talk to you in your dreams, and it doesn't spare you from getting your memories scraped out of your head by that thing, and it doesn't drop you off in...okay, maybe it does drop you off in an overgrown, abandoned building, but not one that looks like this.

He leans up against something that definitely isn't a mana pool, because mana pools don't exist. His phone is gone. His camera--shit, his camera's dripping, and the viewfinder screen won't light up, and it won't even turn on, it just keeps making this thin, whining noise before fizzling out again, and come on come on COME ON this can't happen

He just hums at the automatic response, completely used to hearing that without much thought to it and knowing its immediately fake. At least that informs his decisions anyway in terms of how to speak to this man, keeping his eyes fixed towards Jay.

While he isn't in his full Raven Queen regalia after nearly 2 years on the island, he is still in slacks and decent shoes, as well as a nice button up short sleeved shirt with little skulls on it. He has a brand to maintain, okay. "Things that are more technologically advanced. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the cutoff point, but it seems anything more complex than a book is often rendered useless or malfunctioning. Not that a book is also not ruined when exposed to a lot of water."

Jay might think he's being subtle, but Kravitz knows what unabashed panic looks like, and this is no exception. The eye dilation, the simple answers, the desperate way he watches Kravitz' face for some sort of relief. Thankfully, Kravitz does not openly pity someone who obviously doesn't want it, but he knows he needs to do... well, something before this guy has a meltdown. So he reaches forward, puts a hand on his shoulder, tries to be a steadying rock.

"Yes, notebooks-- look, you may be able to get it functioning. There is technology that works here, you'll simply need to speak to the Storyteller. But if your concern is something from your home world... you are far from that now." Not everyone has happy homes; this may be more of a relief than it is a pressure. "Only individuals find their way here, so you needn't be concerned if you were worried about... well, something like that. It's very unlikely they're also here."

And here is the most fun part of this conversation- Kravitz has absolutely no idea what he's stepped into. He blinks, having half worked from instinct here and half dumb luck, trying to find the right words.

"Er, well, you... you seemed like you were possibly being pursued, or pursuing something judging by your means of documentation." He's trying to be honest, but Kravitz isn't sure if he just sounds dodgy, and he tries to express himself better. "This-- this is another universe, and even gods cannot find us here if they are from elsewhere. So if you were in some sort of trouble, you will likely be okay unless they too are pulled in."
