Who: Jay Merrick and You
What: Jay fell unconscious in Rosswood Park and woke up on a magic island. He's not yet sure if this is a good thing.
When: January 29th, morning
Where: The Storyteller's Temple
Warnings: Language, Jay being an anxious wreck; will update as things come up!
This is wrong. Deeply, deeply wrong. He's either still dreaming, or he's still hallucinating, or he's dead, because the only remaining option doesn't just happen.
Sure, maybe the supernatural exists, but it doesn't talk to you in your dreams, and it doesn't spare you from getting your memories scraped out of your head bythat thing, and it doesn't drop you off in...okay, maybe it does drop you off in an overgrown, abandoned building, but not one that looks like this.
He leans up against something that definitely isn't a mana pool, because mana pools don't exist. His phone is gone. His camera--shit, his camera's dripping, and the viewfinder screen won't light up, and it won't even turn on, it just keeps making this thin, whining noise before fizzling out again, and come on come on COME ON this can't happen

"He's--we're..." He can lie. He can lie and say Tim's an old friend from college. They went camping together. They went on a long road trip. They're friends. But if Tim's here, then that lie's gonna fall apart immediately.
He can't think of a better one.
Instead--goddamnit, pull yourself together--he stutters, shoulders hiked up. His voice pitches higher, throat tight. It's defensive, audibly defensive. "Look, it's...complicated, alright?"
Great. That's more than he needed to say. More than he should've said. He needs to divert this, now.
He peers up and over them, towards the temple door. "Is he around?"
Can Jay see him?Can Jay apologize?i'm so sorry you waited a month for this
"What do you want with him? I--if you hurt him, I'll kill you!"
It comes out of their mouth faster than they can think, but they do their best to hide their sudden panic. This man being scared of or hating them isn't nearly as important--it would be routine, it shouldn't bother them. Besides, if they aren't serious about this, then...
no worries; i have been living under a rock and not tagging for most of this month. XDD
He falters.
"No--n-no, god!" He puts his hands up like he's bracing for a blow, like he's not talking to a kid. "I'm not gonna...look, I don't wanna hurt him, or anything like that. I just..."
He can't think of a lie fast enough. Not with the way they're staring at him.
"I owe him a...I just wanna talk, that's all."
