If you happen to be in the area of the second Islet, where a make-shift hut has become the home of two local pokemon trainers, you may find yourself smelling something amazing. Well, amazing if you enjoy fish. With their new wood-burning stove, Luna and Guzma's cooking game has upped itself tremendously. Rather, Guzma's cooking game has upped itself. Luna has gained a rank in firestarting and firekeeping. It's amazing, living together with a guy like Guzma-- mainly because Luna would never have thought it could happen. But here he is, standing around and cooking fish like he's been doing it for years...probably. Not that Luna knows. Guzma's a pretty outstanding mystery to her in the first place. Weird, kind of spooky. Pretty negative. But everyone knows him, so he's not shy. His pokemon adore him, so he can't be all bad.
It doesn't stop both her pups from being on high guard. Luna'd be lying if she said that there weren't times she was on guard herself-- but having someone who knows where you come from is something that she's decided to not take for granted. Someone with enough knowledge and history to ground her and remind her that home exists...
....somewhere.
Islet #2's hut is...pretty organized, but definitely split into two sides. With the addition of the wood burning stove, the two have tried to insulate their abode with a large tarp, though they still lack a proper roof. There are two strangely hung hammocks on opposite sides-- one of them has a very impressive looking tigershark-skin blanket draped across it invitingly. They seem to be hung by an insect's silken threads, and are very secured to what little they could be fastened to on the worn-down parts of the hut.
On a side of the hut, seashells hang of all types and sizes. They're pretty to look at. There's a small pile of them on the floor, along with a bag that says 'L U N A' in worn letters. There's fur on it-- perhaps someone sleeps here?
For now, this temporary home is fine.
/slides in here
[Guzma's voice booms like a peal of thunder, and he races to the scene lightning quick, abandoning whatever he was doing prior to intervene on this little scene going on. He sees Luna up about thirty feet in the air, stuck in the tree like a Skitty, and his face turns from white to red in a matter of seconds. What the heck is she doing up there?! How in the world--why is she up in a tree?!]
KID!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU - GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW 'FORE I DRAG YOUR SORRY BEHIND OUT MYSELF! [He rounds on Mickey quickly, voice a low growl.] Did you let her go up there?
[Mickey, we know you're a pure bean, but for the love of god LIE.]
:^) .......
D-don't yell at Mickey! [ oh god. She can't hear that low growl, but only assumed since Mickey is the only one beneath the tree... she looks down with a glare and slides a couple feet, trying to grip the tree and slowing down. Urgh. What a mess... ]
I'm coming d-down!!
[ she says as she doesn't move. :C p-positive thinking will!! probably get her down from the tree!! p-p-probably!!! ]

She was just tryin' to help out and get some palm leaves! If she climbed up all the way by herself, she can get down herself too! Yellin' at her is only gunna scare her!
[And scaring someone all the way up there is NOT A GOOD.]
Luna, it'll be okay!

[He growls, stuffing a hand into his pocket and retrieving a pokeball. Honestly, he's astonished. He's fucking astonished by the brat's stupidity. She seemed smart, he thought she'd know better than to risk her neck when he pried her off that cliff-face before. Or did...did that really happen? It seems fuzzy, but he's sure it did.
Tossing the ball, Guzma's Ariados pops out and looks around curiously, then turns to her trainer, who points up the tree.]
Go fetch the brat, Ari, and do it carefully...can't have her splitting her head open like a blasted coconut, as much as she deserves it for NOT THINKING!! [Yeah, he's calling up to you, Luna. >8C]
no subject
She was only trying to help. And she finds herself calling down to Guzma bitterly. He's so frustrating. ]
I-I can get down by my-- heep!!
[ the wood she was holding onto cracks under her hand, and she releases it. It crashes into the dirt below them quietly, not heavy at all. Luna quickly grapples onto another part of the tree and takes in a deep, shaky breath. Mickey's encouragement is calming, to a degree. She wants to thank him, but that would involve looking down, and at this point maybe it'd just be better to have Ari help out... ]

Don't shout about her getting hurt! We gotta take this slowly and calmly!
[GUZMA YOU SUCK AT BABYSITTING!!!]
Luna, we are in no rush! You take your time! You're gunna be just fine, okay? One thing at a time, one thing at a time.
no subject
I wouldn't have to shout if she didn't climb the dang tree in the first place like an idiot! [He hisses, then snaps at his pokemon to move more carefully and slowly once she's close to Luna.] Ease up, Ariados! Get a good grip on 'er with your thread, girl, then lower 'er down t'me slowly.
[Ariados peeks around the other side of the tree from where Luna clings, clicking her fangs a bit before she shoots a thick glob of her silk onto Luna's back - a long, thick thread still hanging from her mouth. She anchors herself onto the three and wiggles her back stingers to her trainer. Cargo secured, cap'n!]

helltree.'Yeah...yeah. Luna's hands ease up slightly on the tree. Ariados' thread attaches to her back and a chill surfaces on her arms-- it's not something she's quite used to yet, though she knows that Ari means it in the best way possible, and she simply brings a free hand to cover her eyes so she can't see. Oh my goodness. Oh my gosh. Hanging by a thread, in the most literal of ways, is not as poetically comforting as one might hope.
Luna just wants to hug a mouse. Or whoever catches her. And never repeat this incident ever again ever. ]
no subject
[This... may be the first argument Mickey has ever had here??? He goes back to Luna, ready to catch her (please no) if need be.]
... Not everyone has these amazing Pokemon that can do things for you, or lots of strength or lots of speed... Sometimes folks just want to feel useful!
[May be projecting a smidgen.]
no subject
Guzma, meanwhile, is indeed having an argument with poor Mickey, and while he totally understands the need and want to feel useful - BOY, OH BOY, DOES HE EVER, HA HA HA - he really doesn't have the time to be squawking with an anthropomorphic mouse right now. He needs to concentrate on getting Luna down safely. He's really just worried, of course, which is why he's so upset, but Mickey's not helping the matter at all--]
There's useful n' then there's reckless!! And she should asked me first what I needed and didn't need - if I wanted her to climb a darn tree, I would'a told her from the get-go!! Now, shut up and lemme concentrate! [He huffs, cupping his hands around his mouth and calling up--] Yo, brat!! Let go of the tree - you won't fall, I promise! Ari's got you, and I'm right here to catch you, too. If you can ride the legendary pokemon into Ultra Space and clear out my sorry backside, then this ought'a be no problem, yeah? Now on three, you let go and Ari will lower you down to me!
One...two...
MICKEY ;A; GUZMA STOP BEING MEAN TO THE MOUSE
Guzma gives her a count down, and she knows that she'd be in more trouble than she's already in if she didn't let go of the tree. And Ari's got her. And let go of the tree. Just let go. Of the tree. Just let go of the tree.
One...two...
she throws her arms out to her sides and is lowered down sweetly by Ariados, who, to Guzma's word and her own expression, is able to lower her down easily. No sweat. No problem. A smooth transition from being really high in the air to sinking toward the ground with her eyes shut.
Hoo boy.
Guzma's brief story makes her laugh a little, still nervous but it was...so unexpected for him to take a jab at himself like that. ]
no subject
Are you all right? You didn't hurt your hands or feet or anything, did you?
[Postponing the argument because Luna's safety and health is always more important.]
You did a good job there, Luna.
1/2 I'M MEAN TO EVERYONE >8C
Only where the tips of the child's shoes touch the sand does Guzma throw a thumbs up to his Pokemon, who cuts the line with a snip of her fangs and scuttle down the length of the tall tree to be with her trainer (and to possibly get the web off Luna's clothing). Patting Ariados' head to praise her for a job well done, Guzma saunters over to the two pipsqueaks (literally in Mickey's case) and picks Luna right up into his arms.]
2/2
[ABOUT FUCKIN FACE, HE WALKS SWIFTLY TO THE WOOD STOVE WITH THE CHILD TUCKED UNDER HIS ARM LIKE A FOOTBALL.]
HOLY SHIT
Thank you for...f-for helping me get down. [ there's more, but she's swept up suddenly, and finds herself struggling uncomfortably in his arms. Eurgh, is there any comfortable part of this guy's body? No. The answer is no--
...
SHE SQUIRMS HELPLESSLY!!! DID HE JUST SAY THE OVEN??? EXCUSE??? ]
H-hey, wait! Put-- [ she huffs out some air, trying to reach a pokeball, but they're kind of far away. ] Stop- stop!! Guzma!
[ THIS IS THE WORST RESCUE ON RECORD ]
why do we let guzma do anything
[He's pretty sure Guzma's just kidding but LUNA JUST HAD A SCARY EXPERIENCE THIS IS NO TIME FOR FURTHER TRAUMA cue chasing]
Guzma, put her down! She probably doesn't even fit in there!
[Haaaa ha ha. Maybe a joke will calm him down?]
you only have yourselves to blame
Guzma turns his head to Mickey, slowing his pace only to look him dead in the eyes and say with a horrible, toothy grin.]
That's what the saw is for. [HEY, LUNA, HEY. HEY LUNA?? Aren't you just tickled you got one of those? 8')]
no subject
She looks around quickly, e-escape. Escape. Mickey? You're-- you're not helping, and Guzma's bloodthirstiness is palpable through his tight grip on her. He won't-- breath, Luna-- he won't actually throw you into a fire. Or chop you up. Her pokeballs jangle in her pocket, but her arm is not moving even half as fast as she wants it to, to get to her companions.
She sucks all the air into her cheeks that she can, moving her arm a little bit closer to her pocket. When she gets to Nina's pokeball, boy
Boy oh boy
The intense frustration of being confined. Can you feel it? ]
no subject
you know
just in case-]
Not if I steal the saw first!
[And zoom, he's off like a rocket, scrambling to go ahead and grab the saw first. maybe it'll serve as a distraction at least?]
no subject
I catch you stuck up in a tree again, li'l Skitty...you sleeping there. Got it? Now haul you rear to the stove, I don't want you moving one foot from it while I do the cooking.
[Whether or not Luna listens right away or not, Guzma's going to head to the stove and finish prepping their meal. It'll take another hour or so, but he keeps a hawk's eye on her, and snarls when she even so much as shifts a little. Girl, you are so grounded.]
no subject
She falls and hits the ground with a wince, lifting her body up to rub her poor little butt!!! What a rude person!!! She glowers up at him while he speaks. Sorry, Guzma, but the fact that you care is being lost on her just a bit. ]
Y'didn't have to drop me...ow. I'm not climbing a tree again, anyway!
[ she picks up the leaf that was pulled from the tree. Stares at it bitterly for a moment, and then turns it over. It really is a good leaf-- good for putting things on, and it bends pretty easy without breaking. A soft sigh escapes her lips. No, no time to be droopy over the lack of enthusiasm from Guzma on this amazingly well shaped leaf-plate.
Luna brings it with her when she moves to go sit near the stove. He's watching like a hawk, and she can feel that dooming gaze on her occasionally, inbetween him looking at the pot and then back at her. ]
