The Haunted Sound... (2 Closed & 2 OPEN)
Who: Ignis and Ardyn, Ignis and Jules, Ignis and OPEN!
What: The aftermath of almost becoming a dragon snack! Treasure, repairs, and napping in no particular order.
When: First couple of weeks in October
Where: Mostly Islet 1 (Cottage 2) and the Farming Islet
Warnings: Mention of injury and violence because of a certain dragon. Watch subjects for warnings should anything else come up.
A.) A priceless glory... (Closed to Ardyn)
[In a way, the severity of Ignis' wounds work to Ardyn's favor. If the advisor is sleeping off his pain, then he is not trying to fight Ahidalga again. It also means there is no one there to be a restraining factor.
RIP Ahidalga.
About the time the looting starts, Ignis is finally starting to regain a little of his strength. Just enough to be annoyed at the fact that both Ardyn and Leo are several steps ahead of him, because he's not going anywhere with a tigerlily's head resting on his chest. Leo might have twitched when the last of the little dragons got too near the cottage, but as none actually attacked it, he never moved from Ignis side and appears bound and determined to remain there until his partner in crime returns to make sure Ignis stays put and rests.
It's really not fair.
Ignis' first clue that Ardyn has returned is when Leo finally lifts his head slightly from his chest, ears turning toward the bedroom door. Ignis huffs softly, trying not to breath too deeply and then calls out to the redhead.]
Have you come to release me from my captivity?
B.) Memento mori... (Closed to Jules)
[If it had not been for Leo, Ignis might have missed the little gifts that start showing up at the cottage. A bit of food here, some supplies there, but the tigerlily seems to enjoy bringing him the little tokens everyday. At first, Ignis is puzzled. Who would be leaving things for him when so many of those he once knew are now gone? Finally, he realizes it can only be one person.
Well, at least that is confirmation that Jules is still around. As much as the man keeps to himself, Ignis had wondered.
Once he feels up to meeting with someone, he sends a very messily written note with Leo in hopes that Jules will come back with the tigerlily to speak with him. He's not really surprised when Leo returns alone, though.
He gives the tigerlily a scratch behind the ears with his right hand, careful not to jolt his injured left side.]
He didn't feel he could trust a note, hu? Maybe in a week or so, I can try to track him down myself. I need to thank him for all he has been leaving.
C.) All for nothing now... (Open!)
[This is a bad idea. Ignis really shouldn't be up and moving around already, but he also needs to now how bad the damage to the resources on the farming islet are. So many people worked so hard to get these resources--Gladio worked so hard to set up so much over there--that he wants to know what will be needed to get things up and running again. He won't be able to fix it all himself. Not with how hurt he is, but someone has to take the first steps. Perhaps another call for help across the crystals is in order? He'll have to see how much damage there is first.
It is going to take days to make note of all the losses, but during those days Ignis can be found leaning heavily on Leo and doing his best to catalog the state of the buildings, fields, and animals Not an easy task when one is blind, but he's determined to do it anyway.]
D.) I know... (Open!)
[Even with Leo and Ardyn trying to make sure Ignis doesn't push himself too hard, it's inevitable that he will over-extend himself. That is why he occasionally will be found outside the cottage, fast asleep with a tigerlily curled around him, both to keep him warm as the temperatures start to drop, but also to make sure no one threatens him while he rests. Whatever his current task is--be it preparing seedlings for replanting, trying to find the best way to cook dragon meat, or maybe working on simple repair tasks--it has been forgotten. Now is time for naps in the sun.
It's not a horrid way to spend the afternoon.]

[Ardyn.]
As a matter of fact, your dragonslaying hero comes bearing a veritable abundance of gifts.

[Ignis raises an eyebrow, then groans slightly and Leo helps him pull himself a bit more upright on the bed.]
And here I was just going to be happy knowing the accursed dragon was dead.
no subject
[Clearly, Ardyn was in a good mood--he even said that in what passed for a joking tone, sounding as though he was setting some things aside.]
Let's see...I pulled a few teeth for good measure, that'll make for some interesting crafting materials. There's a sword that appears to be on fire, that one made me think of you. A knife....well, it rather just looks like a knife, but one can never have too many of those. [A shrug.] But most importantly, I did bring you a fair supply of dragon meat. I'd wager it's even edible, looks a bit like Midgarsormr or something in that vein.
no subject
You actually brought me dragon meat to cook?
[Is it any wonder he loves you?]

Huh.
Shiro's taking stock of the island--he's been gone for a while, after all, and even if Keith's told her everything he still wants to see it for himself--when he stumbles upon Ignis and the tigerlily. He's almost tempted to just leave him, but... ]
You'll get sunburned if you keep dozing outside.
no subject
Mmm, I heard, Leo. Though, half of me is in bandages. It cuts down the risk a little.
[Most of this is muttered to the tigerlily, but eventually Ignis wakes himself enough to greet his visitor.]
Thank you for the warning. My name is Ignis. Are you new around here?
[Since Ignis isn't wearing his glasses, it will become clear very quickly now that he's awake and looking at Shiro, that he is blind.]
no subject
[ He says it with a lightness, and Shiro approaches a little closer. ]
I'm Shiro. Nice to meet you, Ignis. And-- about that. I've actually been here before. Just returned a few days ago.

He's carrying bits of dragon corpse back to his house when he happens upon Ignis, asleep on the beach with a tiger. The tigerlilies are a common enough sight that it's not that alarming. But he hasn't seen Ignis for a minute, so he goes over to peer down at him.]
Hey, did you mean to fall asleep out here?
no subject
[The words are mumbled sleepily as Michael's voice pulls Ignis back to wakefulness. He tries to sit up, but before he can move much at all, a certain tigerlily lays his head on his chest, pinning him down. Ignis sighs and rolls blind eyes in the direction of Michael's voice.]
I am apparently not allowed to move yet.

His own garden and crops keep him fairly busy. Besides, until recently, there was Chara and even Toriel for a bit...people who might be interested in projects like that themselves, and who he would not wish to chase off.
Nowadays, there's really nothing keeping him at home. Still, it took the realization that the farms must have suffered some damage from the dragon to remember that going there was even really an option. He walks up and down the islet, surveying what's here and what's been destroyed. At this point, he's not sure who set all of this up. But there's certainly repairs that need to happen...]
Oh, good morning, Ignis. Are you well? [He doesn't look...you know, great.]
no subject
[Saying that Ignis doesn't look great is actually an understatement. He's pale and obviously favoring his left side a lot. More than a few bandages peek out from under his clothes, and when Leo looks over at Asgore from where he's basically propping Ignis up, the look in his eyes basically begs for help getting his stupid human to sit down before he falls down.]
no subject
[It's really true; he hadn't gone after the dragon himself, sticking instead to protecting the shores of Enso. Something about that felt less...awful.]
Do you need any healing?

For a while he leans against the back of Ignis' cottage, listening beside the window without his friend knowing. It's one of the benefits of being Andarion - highly tuned hearing. He pauses a brief moment after hearing Ignis plans to come after him, and eventually decides to save his friend the trouble. The last thing he would want is for Ignis to venture out too soon. Instead he uses his Trisani abilities to shift any internal locks on the window and slides it open with his hands.]
Or you could just let me in.
no subject
It seems as if you are doing a pretty good job of letting yourself in. Are you sure you need help?
no subject
Trust me, you don't want to see or hear an Andarion try to get through this tiny window. I'd leave half my body scraped along the window frame. Your door unlocked?
[He can manage to unlock it himself if he needs to, but it's just so much easier to confirm he needs to first. This place is way too draining to use powers unnecessarily.]

So she's not really planning to do anything other than look around, maybe scavenge whatever survived the flooding, but-
There's Iggy. Good ole Iggy trying to do something and he doesn't look great. Unstable. Like he's seconds from falling and she has a sneaking suspicion as to where those injuries came from. No one fighting that battle came away unscathed. ]
Iggy? What are you doing?
no subject
[Ignis turns toward her slowly, the fact that he is injured clear in the way he moves. Leo sticks close to his side, making sure he doesn't fall.]
I'm just trying to take stock of what has been damaged so we can get it repaired. How are you doing?
[Not hurt he hopes.]
no subject
[He does have a great deal of nerve asking if she's fine, when that limp is apparent.]
Are you hurt?

[Eventually, he notices that he's not alone in these efforts. And the other guy looks like he's not really altogether with it, leaning on his tigerlily.]
Hey. You good?
no subject
I'm still moving. All things considered, I'll take it.
[He turns a bit more toward Tim, gesturing in the direction of the bludroc pen he's been, slowly, checking out.]
If you aren't too busy, could I borrow your eyes a moment? I'm having trouble figuring out just how bad the damage is to this side of the enclosure.
no subject
It's no problem.

How are you holding up with all this craziness?
