September Event: Burning Alive

SEPTEMBER EVENT: BURNING ALIVE
Who: Everyone!
What: HOLY SHIT A FUCKING DRAGON
When: September 12th to September 19th
Where: Both Nastrandir and Ensō!
Warnings: Violence, potential injury by fire, potential character death. If anything else comes up, tag as you go!

Now I'm Ready for War
If you don't see the calamity, you'll probably hear it - the furious roars of an enraged, hungry beast, paired with the loud crash of waves as a great deal of water shifts, all at once.

If you're on Nastrandir, you'll have a massive, three-headed, fire-breathing dragon to contend with, as well as its watery counterpart. Either focus on staying alive or take the fight to the creature directly. If you choose the latter option, bear in mind that the massive water-serpent will be dispensing weapons for your use, and that these weapons will be the most effective against the beast's scaly hide. You have full mod permission to injure Ahidalga in whatever way is feasible for your character. We won't be policing anyone's participation in this fight! If it's plausible for your character to help the water-serpent in putting this beast down, you have our full blessing!
If you're on Ensō, your task is a little less direct. Your job entails putting out fires and fighting Ahidalga's smaller (but no less vicious) brood. You will be receiving help from the Storyteller's paper birds, and those who wish to stick to their temple for safety are free to do so. Bear in mind that it is the weapons shed from the water-serpent that will be most effective against these smaller, draconian critters.

The days that follow, and the actions you take, will decide whether Nastrandir will be saved...or whether you're willing to let it, and all the history it carries, burn in the fire.

That dragon had to have been dormant for a while then we came here. [But he can't shake a key detail that sticks out. Keith partly turns and separates his hair into sections and braids them together with the deftness of practice.]

...why didn't the sirens wake it up? It would have made sense until there's some sort of system up here that was keeping it asleep until we got too close.

[Yet it seems awfully funny whatever is in the water got active after the sirens happened. That it shows up now of all times.] I don't understand any of this. But doesn't a water dragon showing up to fight it feel a bit convenient? Or.

It was dormant too and their fight just...picked up where it left off.

[[Tachibana sits on a small outcropping of rock, the small husky puppy that had come with him rushing up and putting his paws on his partner's legs until Tachibana almost absentmindedly picked him up and placed him on his lap]]

It may have a different range of hearing than we do. Or simply be used to the sound and ignored it.

[[But that didn't explain why it was only after the sirens went quiet that it woke.]]

If it was the sirens destruction that woke it, I can only assume it also woke the other one as well.

[[There was a lot about the situation that Tachibana just... didn't like, and despite the weight of Garren on his lap, his knee began to bounce restlessly.]]

The conflict people were reliving was a similar fight between fire and water, wasn't it. Were either of the dragons present in any of those memories, do you know?

Thought I hit this back, sorry about that

[He doesn’t know and he shakes his head. He ties the strip of leather to the end f his hair and flicks the braid back over his shoulder. It is possible the dragon had a different hearing range. But there is another possibility and it reminds him of the fail safes Galra put in place. They liked to contain threats they could turn on their enemies.

Combat is not just life to the Galra. It is an art form.]
There’s also a chance those sirens broke some kind of containment or woke it up from dormancy enough it was just asleep.

We don’t know. [He glances towards the watery sword he had laid down still in reach but far enough away if it betrayed him that he had room to break it.]

But I don’t know what is in those memories that was messing with people. I just know the orb that contained them broke and that’s when it all went weird.
