JULY EVENT: RIDING THE WAVE

Who: Everyone!
What: The Jormun reappear to allow some transformative fun...and potentially some underwater exploration as well
When: July 10th and onward
Where: Ensō and the ocean floor around it
Warnings: Potential (and fully optional) body/transformation horror may arise when undergoing shifts from land-based to sea-based shapes, and vice versa. Otherwise, tag as you go!

I'll See You on the Other Side
The Jormun resurfaced to greet their old allies on July 8th, bringing with them the offer to explore the ocean floor alongside them. They're not the only old friend that's made a return, however. The kaleidoshells, placid, rainbow-tinted creatures reminiscent of sea turtles, have also made their way to Ensō's shores for their nesting season. For much of the month of July, you'll have to tread carefully around mounds of sand hiding delicate heaps of kaleidoshell eggs. Those of you uninterested in sea exploration can remain on the surface, if you like - the kaleidoshells can make for a stunning sight if you're glimpsing them for the first time as their shells throw off vibrant rainbow swirls of light reflected into the ocean waters.

Predators are always keen to feast on easy prey, and kaleidoshell eggs are no exception. If you feel like protecting them from any hungry slypers or pterax, you'll find that some of the Jormun are happy to stick on the surface with you and assist. They'll even lend you a schlacknorkcvic, which is the Jormun equivalent of a simple driftwood training staff, to help keep any thieving creatures away from the nests of kaleidoshell eggs - though they recommend that you do so peacefully, if possible.

Get Carried Away
Or you can brave the sea waters with the Jormun, instead. With the help of the sne'akleriad pendant, your new, aquatic shape will allow you to navigate the waters just as easily as they. Whether you intend to make use of this new skill to go roaming about and explore some of Ensō's uncharted ocean squares, take a look at that underwater structure that's been sighted before, or just have a joyous time beneath the waves with your new scaly, tentacled, flippered, or be-gilled form, the choice is yours.

On dry land, sure. But down here?

[All he's got is what's on hand, and none of it's medical. Didn't exactly have a waterproof bag to keep anything in.]

(They chatter, headflaps rippling.)

Suggestion: retreat.

[counterblows]

Yeah, probably.

[Saltwater isn't exactly good for cuts. He closes a free hand over the worst of it and starts pumping his tail toward the surface.]

You're not hurt or anything?

This platform is undamaged.

(They follow him.)

[counterblows]

Good. I think that'd be harder to take care of than this.

[At least...underwater. That might actually be dangerous underwater? He's got no clue. Ordinarily he wouldn't bother heading back, but he just doesn't want blood to go streaming all over the place and drawing something that could smell him out.]

Affirmative.

(Their blood would pollute the water around them, and if anything electric got exposed they would likely die.

After a moment, they begin to swim slowly upward. Might be good to get away from the ocean floor.)

You don't have to stick close if you've got...uh, better things to do.

[He's pretty sure he knows that the answer to that is that Legion's going to anyway, but it bears saying aloud. Just...to cover all his bases.]

We do not.

(Caring for their allies is their highest priority.

Only the safety of their people was higher, and their people are gone.)

[counterblows]

...'kay. Well, it's not going to be all that exciting.

[Or probably all that useful, since he can do a patch job on his own, but hey. Thought that counts and all.]

Acknowledged.

(Yep, they're still following.)

[counterblows]

[Well, power to them, he guesses. Doesn't take long before he's breaching the surface and tugging the sn...the s...the pendant thing off from around his neck, yanking it over his head.]

[Half a minute later, and he's stumbling through the shallows, adjusting to the feeling of having legs again.]

[forwearemany]

(Their normal form isn't really designed to be in saltwater, so they do things a bit differently: they beach themselves on the shore and then take off their pendant to return to their normal form.

They then shake themselves, spraying water everywhere.)

[counterblows]

[Wash squints, shutting his eyes against the shower of saltwater. His hair is plastered to his head - no longer bright and achingly blonde, but drenched into something darker, the color of wet straw.]

Give a dog a real run for its money with that.

[forwearemany]

(They raise a headflap and let out a short burst of chatter.)

...Acknowledged.

(They do not understand the purpose of competing with Earth canines.)
