JULY EVENT: RIDING THE WAVE

Who: Everyone!
What: The Jormun reappear to allow some transformative fun...and potentially some underwater exploration as well
When: July 10th and onward
Where: Ensō and the ocean floor around it
Warnings: Potential (and fully optional) body/transformation horror may arise when undergoing shifts from land-based to sea-based shapes, and vice versa. Otherwise, tag as you go!

I'll See You on the Other Side
The Jormun resurfaced to greet their old allies on July 8th, bringing with them the offer to explore the ocean floor alongside them. They're not the only old friend that's made a return, however. The kaleidoshells, placid, rainbow-tinted creatures reminiscent of sea turtles, have also made their way to Ensō's shores for their nesting season. For much of the month of July, you'll have to tread carefully around mounds of sand hiding delicate heaps of kaleidoshell eggs. Those of you uninterested in sea exploration can remain on the surface, if you like - the kaleidoshells can make for a stunning sight if you're glimpsing them for the first time as their shells throw off vibrant rainbow swirls of light reflected into the ocean waters.

Predators are always keen to feast on easy prey, and kaleidoshell eggs are no exception. If you feel like protecting them from any hungry slypers or pterax, you'll find that some of the Jormun are happy to stick on the surface with you and assist. They'll even lend you a schlacknorkcvic, which is the Jormun equivalent of a simple driftwood training staff, to help keep any thieving creatures away from the nests of kaleidoshell eggs - though they recommend that you do so peacefully, if possible.

Get Carried Away
Or you can brave the sea waters with the Jormun, instead. With the help of the sne'akleriad pendant, your new, aquatic shape will allow you to navigate the waters just as easily as they. Whether you intend to make use of this new skill to go roaming about and explore some of Ensō's uncharted ocean squares, take a look at that underwater structure that's been sighted before, or just have a joyous time beneath the waves with your new scaly, tentacled, flippered, or be-gilled form, the choice is yours.

My bag gets very heavy when I do that.

[It's pretty heavy right now from all the garbage she's amassed this month alone. Not to mention the food, the random pair of shoes, and the fact it hasn't been washed. Do these things tear?? Hers is beat to hell.]

But I always keep the special ones with me.

You don't have to carry 'em all with you, you know. I only hold onto a few things at once, when I really need them.

[He's pretty much walking around with nothing but the bare necessities for this expedition. Mostly 'cause he doesn't want to have to try and recover his dead body from the bottom of the ocean if he dies. Kind of a morbid thought, but a practical one.]

[It's so hard to decide, Tim. And her face expresses that very thought. What is she sees a bunch of people she wants to give treasures too. Then she's gotta backtrack all day. Which really dogs into her goblin time.

But he says all that and she points to the bones he brought up. ]

Do you carry things like that a lot?

Not like these, no. This is just some stuff I found on the ocean floor.

Not sure what kind of bones they are - [or rather, what they belong to, though that's a bit too morbid to say right now] - so I'm gonna see if anyone knows.

[She has an immediate thought about where some old ruin bones might originate from and it's the only thing that keeps her from poking at them.]

Uncle Kravitz might know. You could ask him when he comes back.

[Since he's the grim reaper and all. Makes sense. In a way.]

[He...is the grim reaper, huh.]

That's...a good idea. [His tone is a pretty fair indication that this simply didn't occur to him.] I'll keep an eye out for him.

[She looks kind of surprised mainly because someone said it was a good idea. Her track record for that is pretty bad. Is she a little proud of herself?? Maybe.]

I'm waiting for him too. So if I see him first, I'll say 'call Tim.'

All right, if you want.

[Their last meeting was a little, uh, awkward, but that's fine. Tim can navigate that. When his entire existence is a walking apology for shit he can't control, he's had to get used to that by necessity.]

Do you want to wait with me?

[Because she's going to be on this beach for a long time. Probably for the next day, or as close to it as possible. Long enough for her to see the people she likes come back safe and sound with her own two eyes.

But it's going to be a lonely wait, since most people did amble into the water.]

You don't have to stay for a long time.

I can wait for a minute, but like I said, I'm gonna be heading back in a bit.

[Limited time means he's gotta take advantage of it when he can. The Jormun aren't gonna stick around forever, and neither is this pendant that lets him dip down underneath the waters to finally get a look at some of those buildings.]

I know.

[And she sounds so, so disappointed. She doesn't understand why he won't leave to get a quick meal. He won't take her clump of delicious pocket oatmeal either and this whole Deal is just so bad.

But while he's resting up for his next adventure, he can have a drink?? She pulls her bag in front of her, sifting through the contents until she finds a kitty shaped lunchbox that typically holds rocks and grime. Never food, but today it has little bits of water when she opens the lid.

Anyway, drink up buddy. She's got a fresh (????) water present for you.]

...I'm good, thanks. Gonna be swimming a bunch, so I'll get my fill of water.

[Saltwater, but if he really ends up needing a drink, he can just head back to the islets for one of those wells. And not drink, uh, dirty lunchbox water. He's lived that unsanitary life too many times to want to go back.]

Okay.

[More for her, gosh. He won't accept her offerings and that's tragic. She'll have to find something better for him by the time he pops back up for air.

And until he decides to go, she's just gonna sit beside him and look the coastline, waiting for people to return for good.]
