[CLOSED] - Trainer's School
Who: Guzma (yallstupid) and Lillie (flower_of_innocenceWhat: Guzma and Lillie have a mock battle with Guzma's Pokemon to up Lillie's confidence as a budding Trainer and as a person.
When: Sometime in June before The Fuckening.
Where: Enso Beach, probably.
Warnings: Uhh...not many. Mild Pokemon Violence? IDK THIS GAME IS E RATED
[Today's as good a day as any. The weather's nice - not too hot, not too windy, and not a hint of a chance at rain. It's a little ater lunch time when Guzma knocks suddenly on Lillie's door and tells her to get ready for their battle. She promised him, after all, and he have her ample time to get ready and study Ariados' moves, skills, and stats. Heck, he even let Lillie keep the giant spider out and around her for some time to get used to his girl's personality and her character traits. It was kind of cute, watching Ariados follow around Lillie, curl up in a corner of the girl's room before bed, and play with her. It definitely brought back memories when Ariados was still just a tiny Spinarak, and he was still a young trainer...
But Guzma now is a seasoned veteran, and an expert at competitive battling and strategy. His Pokemon's movesets here are more utility and power based, since this is all do or die (literally), but if he had the opportunity...a few moves would indeed be swapped about for a more pro-scene scope. This however, is just a battle for fun, and to train up not only his Pokemon, but Lillie's skill and confidence in herself. Guzma damn well knows she's got spunk, and she can get fiery if she needs to, but she's still holding back... If she can even get her to come out of her shell, break the image that witch seared into her very skin, it'd help her a whole lot. To become her own person.]

[He doesn't wait, since he can lay about and enjoy the sun a little beforehand, if she needs a minute or two to get ready, and makes his way down the sandy path to enjoy the lapping of the waves on the shore. This is...oddly nostalgic, actually. He had a battle on the beach with someone else...what, two years ago now? Heh, Ms. Alolan Champion... He idly wonders how the little punk is doing, tossing his Pokeball up and down in the air like a baseball and catching it easily.
He wonders, thinking about strategies and what moves to use. It's a bit unfair, since he knows Ariados' moves, her stats...everything. But that's just going to have to be another hurdle Lillie will have to overcome. Guzma doesn't coddle anyone, especially not when it comes to Pokemon battling, and he won't go easy on her, even if she's a newbie. To do so would be disrespectful to her and his Pokemon, working hard to win.]

[Lillie scrambles to gather her things and meet Guzma outside. It takes a little longer than she means it to. Nerves keep causing her to fumble things. But she does eventually emerge with a bag stocked with potions, a bit of food, and a blanket to lay out afterwards for rest and relaxation. Gosh, afterwards, as if this didn't feel like the end of the world in some ways. Why on earth did she agree to this?
No. Lillie takes a steadying breath and walks along the beach to catch up with her friend, Ariados' pokeball secure in her hand. She agreed to this because she knows as well as he does that this will be good for her. Even if it's scary, even if it turns out to be Not Her Thing, it'll be important for her to try. She holds this in her mind as she slows to a stop in front of him.]
I brought potions, just in case...hopefully it won't get that intense.

Nah, it shouldn't - my homies usually tussle with one another when I'm training 'em up, so they know not t'go all out unless I tell 'em to. But I 'preciate the thought, that'll come in handy after they're tuckered out. Uh...just don't be a hack and use those in battle, yeah? [He sneers a bit. Clearly there's a bit of unsaid salt there, but Guzma doesn't explain.] Anyway, take your spot a ways back, and lemme know when y'all is ready.

[The last part isn't meant to be forceful, but it may come off a bit serious, considering Guzma's shift in tone. He'll wait or her cue, sure, but once she's ready...there's no turning back. No take backs. He also won't go easy on her, not in the slightest, and he will not let her quit.]
