[The flowccus bleats again, sounding almost apologetic, and stands up to shuffle out of the way before flopping down and looking somehow even more dejected. There doesn't really seem to be a point in trying to explain or look for a solution when she can't. Actually vocalize or express the problem. In her mind, the best course of action is to wait it out and try to make it apparent that she's not actually a flowccus, lest she find herself being sheared.
Although she doesn't think they've ever met, both of them can probably reason that this isn't normal for the other party, right? Between an animal's ability to recognize words and seemingly apologize in response and the obvious soldier being obviously not very soldier-y? The writing is kinda on the wall.
Nebby does take this opportunity to waddle over towards Beau-in-disguise, chirping happily as an introduction. It's lack of ability to communicate clearly doesn't seem to bother it at all.]
