I’ll take my throne, lay it on a mountain

Who: Our volunteer mountaineers
What: Two parties split up to scale the mountain from two sides, planning to meet at it’s peak. Shenanigans occur along the way.
When: September 13th to 16th
Where: Group 1: G3, H2, G2 || Group 2: F3, F2, G2
Warnings: Please note any warnings in your subject headers!

Word spreads quickly in a small community such as this. What was originally intended to be a small party turned into something much larger- and on the day Chara planned to leave for the mountain, it’s not one, but two parties that make off for it’s peak.

Group 1, led by Chara, moves off during the early hours of the morning, seeking to search the furthest part of the mountain by following the river upwards. The path is longer and more winding- however, they are unhampered in when they can travel.

Group 2, led by Ardyn, takes off after the sun has set- due to the needs of multiple members to avoid the sun’s harsh glare. Their route takes them up the closest side of the mountain, which provides an easier path- however, they may only travel whilst the sun is set.

OOC: Welcome to the mountaineering open post! Keep in mind the following;
♆ RNG was happily done blind by our wonderful Guzma mun, with our animals RNG'd by Wade Wilson's! Thank them both for all your misfortune.

♆ Prompts have been provided for each group below! Simply toplevel wherever you wish and treat this like a normal open post!

♆ Since each group will generally be in close contact with one another, consider asking others if you can threadjack here and there; nothing says team-building like being a nosy parker.

Patting his chest in horror, feigning a face that spells 'I'd never!' Guzma chuckles and nods his head while he begins fishing through his pack for the fruit he accumulated over his usual outings and foraging efforts. He's really going to need to sort these things better, too, for fear of messing up anything useful with, uh...foodstuffs.

"Trainer's honor. Here, can y'all do the...what'cha-ma-thing on these?" He produces a small bunch of bananas from his backpack and sets them down. He'll probably just offer the other three or so to a few of the kids on their team, and nibble one for himself to cool off and energize.

Oh dang, bananas, that's a pretty nice treat. She makes the minimal effort of scooting up into a sitting position and then gives a casual flick of her hand, from which a bright blue beam of light darts into the fruit, freezing it over instantly.

She blows on her finger like it's a smoking gun and raises an eyebrow at the guy. "Ray of Frost, homeboy. If you're gonna mooch off the wizards, at least learn their lingo." But she doesn't sound like it's any skin off her nose and honestly she's down for showing off any time. "What're you a trainer of?"

Holy crap. If he weren't sure she wouldn't freeze him solid, Guzma may have jumped back and away from that literal Ice Beam. It's still pretty weird to see a person use moves most pokemon use, but he's slowly getting used to it. ...Very slowly. He whistles though, crouching down to look at her handy work, picking up the bunch to feel. It's definitely frigid, that much is obvious.

"Tch, sorry, but what y'all did I'd call Ice Beam, darlin' - pretty solid move though, dang." Ah, and here's the million dollar question, once more. Guzma sighs and shakes his head. "M'a Pokemon Trainer, critters what live in my world that take on all kinds'a shapes, sizes, types... M'a bug type Trainer - I got two pokemon what are insectoids. Big ol spider what's as flash as them shades y'all got and a bigger one, uh..."

How the heck does he describe Golisopod? He's a dee sea isopod, but not many people know what those are, and calling him a shrimp or lobster seems insulting. "Kinda hard to describe Golisopod, but he's a water bug. The kid's got two herself...comes from where I do--" he nods to where Luna is, probably resting or chatting with another of their group. "She got the more, uh...fuzzy pokemon."

He shrugs, to each their own. Guzma likes his bugs and the kids likes her puff buckets.

Hell yeah, there's still people on the island left to impress with shitty cantrips, that's pretty much the only good thing about this dump. Lup smiles graciously at the accolades as though he was providing a cool breeze with a palm leaf fan.

And this is the first she's heard of pokemon, but when he describes his big insect buddy her face lights up in delight. "Oh shit, you're that guy with the huge glam spider? Taako told me about her, she sounds rad! You got your pocket dimension on you, can I see her?" She remembers the warning that came with that story too, dude's intensely protective and touchy about his spider, but who wouldn't be, when your familiar is more likely to be the target of damage rolls than admiration. Good on him for living his truth and sticking with that type anyway, despite the existence of fuzzy ones, whatever those even are.

Likewise, Guzma's face splits into a massive grin himself, chin lifting up a bit. Glame spider? That is perhaps the best way to describe his Ariados that he's ever heard thus far. She is big, and she is indeed glamorous - his girl, one of only two one his team. But ah, he was wrong in assuming the other Keebler twin didn't tell this one about his pokemon. The reaction isn't the one he was expecting though, and he's frankly glad it's the exact opposite.

"You mean her pokeball?" He snorts, shoulders shaking with contained laughter. Pocket dimension? That's new. "Yeah, I got 'em both on me, o'course." He fishes through an inner pocket of his hoodie and produces Ariados' ultra ball, enlarging the metallic sphere with a click to the middle button. He hesitates before releasing her, though, giving the elf a look.

"...She's real friendly, and might try t'crawl on you if she gets a chance. Just a fair warning." For Lup mostly - if she makes any sort of hostile movements toward his pokemon, Guzma won't take kindly to it.

Lup pays pretty close attention to the shiny thing he pulls from his pocket, ears pitched forward with interest. That sure looks like some kinda dimensional orb, and she wonders if he's about to unfold a whole spider's nest, or whatever this particular spider lives in.

But at his warning, that thought becomes secondary instantly. "You mean I'm about to cuddle a giant rainbow spider? That sounds chill as hell!" Opening her arms wide, she cheers, "Let 'er rip!"

Sadly no, nothing like that. Guzma presses the middlemost button of Ariados' Ultra Ball, and the little sphere clicks open, first producing a bright beam of light, which enlarges and begins to take shape into the fabulous and colorful spider pokemon. As the light fades off her with a soft of glittering shimmer, Ariados shakes her head and looks around, blinking back at her Trainer. Is it time to battle? Guzma doesn't usually let her out unless it's time to battle, time to eat, or to time to work and relax afterward. She's done quite a few things to help around the islands with her trainer, and getting the exercise is great!

"No. No battling right now, sweetheart, someone wants to meet'cha." He crouches down into a squat to rub a palm over Ariados' head, and she makes a soft keening sound of pleasure, eyes squinting shut happily as her two back stingers wag back and forth. "Go say hello, yeah? N'be nice - y'all's both ladies, and I expect my girl to act like one..."

Ariados immediately looks from Guzma to Lup, then doesn't much hesitate to scurry over to the elf curiously, lifting herself up a few inches on her four legs. She clicks her fangs at the young woman, bobbing slowly on her legs a bit. Guzma told her to be nice, so she doesn't immediately begin to crawl over this new person, though with how she looks up so intently it's...really just a matter of time before her willpower is shot through.

Hello! C8

At the sight of a dog-sized, garishly colored spider with way too many stingers and fangs taking shape, Lup makes absolutely no attempt at restraining her delight. And now the dude is petting her, making her butt wag like a puppy, how freaking adorable is this? She's already beaming when the spider comes over to her, all bobbing and clicking excitedly, and she wastes no time patting her lap invitingly.

"C'mon in, gorgeous! Love these stripes, that's some high fashion for sure!" She's just gonna, uhhh, lean out of the way of that big fuckoff horn though.

[personal profile] yallstupid 2017-11-04 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Blinking, the colorful spider pokemon hurries right into Lup's lap like any affectionate animal would, settling right down there, though her two from legs do raise up to curiously touch and tug at her clothes and anything shiny she has on her person. She seems absolutely delighted by all the attention, careful not to pinch, pull, or, uh...stab the poor woman with that big fuckoff horn indeed. She was told to be nice, so she's being nice.

"Yo, you wanna talk fashion, anything made with Ariados silk is durable and supple as all heck, yeah? People back home pay a pretty price to get some high grade stuff. I gave y'all's bro a bundle, but you ever need anything, gimme a holler." Guzma's all but beaming, arms crossed over his chest with an enormous grin on his face. He was totally wrong about this chick! She's treating his lady better than some people in his world do, and those compliments?

Choice. Keep 'em coming, Guzma is preening. His lady is indeed gorgeous - he keeps her well fed and well taken care of, which brightens her coloring and gives her eyes a nice shine. She's bigger than most wild Ariados, too...which means she's well treated and very healthy. Guzma loves his pokemon, and he's greatly appreciating the care Lup is taking with Ariados. Not many women like bugs, especially spiders.

"You can pet her, but steer clear of her mouth - she won't bite'cha, but even a love nip could get y'real sick for a while."

Lup's still listening to what the guy has to say and she's mentally high-fiving herself for scoring access to another resource, but mainly she's just really into this big spider. She seems surprisingly gentle for, well, for a bug? Shit, are most bugs like this and we just don't know because they're usually too tiny? Mind blown. Lup giggles at the curious prodding and tugging and gives her head a scratch the way the guy did before.

"You like shiny things, huh, lil girl? Well hang on--" and she unhooks one of the golden hoops from her ear, plopping it down on the spider's horn like a ring and bottle game. Hell yeah.

It's only at the mention of getting sick that her glance can't help landing on those fangs, ears briefly folding back in something like uncertainty. "So you're cute as heck and hellaciously venomous?" Yeah, no wonder Taako wasn't a fan of that part. She isn't really here for it either, for different reasons, but she shrugs it off quickly enough with a casual grin. "Rad!"

Hey now, don't think the future will be freebies, lady, only the first time. Compliments to his pokemon can only get one so far, and he needs tools and resources himself. An eye for an eye, or...whatever. But still, this is loads better than he could have hoped for, given the warnings he had received from the other Keebler Twin. Really, he thought he had to keep his pokemon on the far end from this one, but really? She's not half bad. Ariados even likes her, though that's really not surprising. The big spider's been around people since she was a young little Spinarak, and she's always been friendly and energetic.

Ariados blinks, going a bit cross-eyed as she looks at the dangling gold around her horn. She chitters with glee, turning around to show off her new bling to Guzma. Look, look, its just like your necklace you used to wear!! The one you keep in your bag or your pocket! Her fangs click together and Ariados sinks down against Lup, snuggling up to her happily.

"Dang but she's your best friend now. Make sure you take that back, otherwise Ari gon' make off with it." He gives her a Look, though, and the spider seems to droop a little, the stingers on her abdomen falling sadly. 8( She doesn't wanna give it back... "Yeah, pokemon of her species are real dangerous out'n the wild, specially... Their thread can even be coated in poison, and getting enough on you will cause a nasty rash that'll spread like wildfire over a course'a just a few hours...itches and burns like hell, and not getting treatment is, uh...not recommended.

Less y'all like looking like swiss cheese." Yeah, that poison eats away at flesh, among other nasty things if it gets directly in the bloodstream. But that's really a worst case scenario and takes a few weeks to get to that sort of severity. Really, a direct bite is possibly the most dangerous and fatal, but Ariados is just too sweet to do that without an order. "Don't worry 'bout it though - my lady don't do nothing like that unless she hunting or fighting. As you can probably tell..."

He nods to the spider again, who is swaying her had back and forth to hear the golden ring jingle on her horn.
