I’ll take my throne, lay it on a mountain
Who: Our volunteer mountaineers
What: Two parties split up to scale the mountain from two sides, planning to meet at it’s peak. Shenanigans occur along the way.
When: September 13th to 16th
Where: Group 1: G3, H2, G2 || Group 2: F3, F2, G2
Warnings: Please note any warnings in your subject headers!
Word spreads quickly in a small community such as this. What was originally intended to be a small party turned into something much larger- and on the day Chara planned to leave for the mountain, it’s not one, but two parties that make off for it’s peak.
OOC: Welcome to the mountaineering open post! Keep in mind the following;

Group 1, led by Chara, moves off during the early hours of the morning, seeking to search the furthest part of the mountain by following the river upwards. The path is longer and more winding- however, they are unhampered in when they can travel.
Group 2, led by Ardyn, takes off after the sun has set- due to the needs of multiple members to avoid the sun’s harsh glare. Their route takes them up the closest side of the mountain, which provides an easier path- however, they may only travel whilst the sun is set.
OOC: Welcome to the mountaineering open post! Keep in mind the following;
♆ RNG was happily done blind by our wonderful Guzma mun, with our animals RNG'd by Wade Wilson's! Thank them both for all your misfortune.
♆ Prompts have been provided for each group below! Simply toplevel wherever you wish and treat this like a normal open post!
♆ Since each group will generally be in close contact with one another, consider asking others if you can threadjack here and there; nothing says team-building like being a nosy parker.

There are so many ways he could be a punk: "no one's home", "you better be the pizzaman", "sorry, gone fishing", etc, but nah. He'll play it straight now that he's gotten at least one snide comment out. Let's see if you can wow him, skull-bro.]
Who's there?
no subject
Banana.
[ Does he know this one? ]
no subject
...Banana who?
[Bro, you better split if this joke goes the way Guzma is expecting.]
no subject
Knock knock.

Private property - vacate the premises before I release the Houndooms.

He doesn't even have a nose to snort with, what the heck. ]
Ok, ok. Personal question. Which would you rather eat?
A brick or a matter baby?

For now though, he huff turns his thumb down and--]
Booooo!!

[ He's still snickering, wiping at nonexistent tears for show. ]
Look at you. Tryin' to pretend you're a tough audience. Come on. I totally nailed that one.
no subject
Yeah, yeah, you want a trophy or something? A medal? Some updog?
[Let's see if he can turn the tables, or just get funnybones here to play along.]
no subject
I can't believe you know updog, that one's a classic.
[ Can't play a player. ]

Bro, I been around long 'nuff to know at least one'a them stupid jokes... Y'all'd be shocked what sorta things one can come up with doing when a storm blows out the power. [Or, you know...taking over a whole town and obviously not paying bills so the power get's cut.] The other one's new though, never heard it before. You come up with that all on your own, lil Duskull?
[Yeah, there's really nothing else Guzma can call this freaky thing other than that. For now.]
no subject
[ He tips his skull towards the door, a wordless invitation to join him. ]
Let's show this door what you're made of. And, uh...
Did you just call me a dumbskull?
no subject
Pff--HAHA! [He likes that. He really, really likes that. If only he thought of it when he was still leading Team Skull - 'dumbskulls' really defined the majority of his grunts. Alas, the opportunity is well past now.] That's a new one, but nah - Duskull. Guessing y'all are like the masses and don't know what a Pokemon is, yeah?
[He finally saunters over after his brief snickerfest, sitting down with his back against the big door.]

[ Sans seems to sit up a little straighter, intrigued by the prospect that out of anywhere he could have ended up in the multiverse, he once again finds himself in the presence of people who seem to know about a fairly unique phenomenon.
Pokemon still seem like monsters in their infancy to Sans, but he has a better understanding of their relationship to the trainers who care for them, now. ]
Used to know a few of 'em, and their, uh. Trainers? A Riolu and I used to hang. Wonder how he's doin'.
no subject
Uh, anyway - a Duskull's a kinda ghost pokemon. Hold up--lemme just... [He grabs a stone from the ground and begins etching onto the stone door. He curses once, quietly, and furrows his brows, scribbling a bit and then moves his hand away to show off a drawing of the pokemon, though the skull portion of it seems a little, erm...off kilter. Guzma's muscle memory tried to recreate his team logo by mistake.] First thing what came to mind when I took one look at you, homeboy.
no subject
[ He's kidding. Or maybe not -- either way, it's a dig at Guzma's artistic talents, or at Sans's appearance, and anyone who knows Sans would know which side he leans. Still, he grins at the drawing like he actually enjoys it being there.
But mostly because Pokemon Trainers tend to be humans who treat monster like him with greater respect than he expects of their kind. ]
Nope, that ain't me. But I'm flattered. Where I'm from, there aren't Pokemon, just humans and animals and monsters like me.
no subject
And here it is, another person--er, creature that knows about pokemon, somewhat, but doesn't live in a world filled with them. He's starting to wonder just how many planes of existence there are out there. Surely there are other dimensions and worlds - Ultra Space was one of them, of course - but it's still such a bizarre concept...portals, or wormholes, being opened up to other worlds beyond his own.]
Monsters? Huh...y'all wouldn't know Muffet by chance, would you? Big ol' spider-person, yeah, what likes to bake a whole lot. She called herself a monster. [Which he didn't exactly like, considering the word has a strongly negative connotation, but then again...pokemon is an abbreviation for 'Pocket Monsters', so. And the way she talked, it sounded more like a species name than anything derogatory.]
no subject
Many worlds used to be nothing more than a theory to Sans. Now, it's just part of his life, especially the part where he ends up tossed into another world whenever somebody powerful enough decides to have a giggle at his expense.
That part makes him a little bitter. ]
Yeah. She's a shrewd business-spider. She owns her own bakery empire back where we're from. I hear her donuts are to die for.
[ He chuckles. ]
Just don't assume all'a us monsters know each other. That's specist.
no subject
Mm, maybe if they ever get something like a stove or oven, and the correct ingredients, he could pitch a favor to the spider lady to test-taste a few of her goodies. Maybe their acquaintanceship will net him something for free, too. That'd be stellar.]
Yeah, I heard...been dying to try some of Muffy's stuff. Though a bit of home cooking's looking pretty good too, y'know? [Listen, there's only so long you can go without the flavors you're used to. Sure this island reminds him a lot of Alola, but it's not home. Guzma misses the meals he would easily grab from restaurants and cafes at the Pokemon Centers a lot.]
Mm? Bro, I ain't thinking nothing, just heard'a term and made a guess, but if y'all think every Trainer knows one another, then I may throw that back in your face, heh heh... [Though, uh...a lot of Alolans, trainer or otherwise, know him. Guzma's pretty infamous.]
no subject
But he can see Guzma's on the same page. ]
Just pullin' your leg, buddy. Truth is, I don't know too many real "trainers".
Most of us just kinda ended up bein' friends or taking care of 'em once they hatched. Wade and Tibs? More like a father-daughter team, if you ask me.
no subject
Mm, well, you traveling 'round with the realest Trainers in Alola, my man. That anklebiter's the first ever regional champion where I'm from. Ain't no one stronger'n 'er in all Alola...yet. [He grins, folding his arms behind his head as he sinks his back against the stone.] Ain't got need for a flashy title like that, but I plan on taking that brat down some day.
Mm...still don't understand how there's pokemon in other places, but I guess if one world can suck 'em up like a vaccuum, then it isn't so farfetched... But yeah, lotta people what got pokemon keep 'em as pets, too, or companions for small families - y'get close fast, 'specially when y'raise 'em young. Me n' my bro Golisopod ain't ever been apart. He was the first bug pokemon I caught when he was still a Wimpod. And I was a snotty little brat m'self.
[An actual happy memory from Guzma's childhood? A rarity, and more so that he's talking about it. But if it involves his beloved pokemon, he's happy to share.]
no subject
[ There's a pause, and then Sans ruins everything: ]
So is a regional champion a big deal or something?
[ It's pretty cute that this guy reminisces like this with a stranger, weird too, but... heck, it's probably because it's hard NOT to become fond of what strikes Sans as monsters in their infancies that he views Guzma's own clear fondness as a good thing. But he's not done ruining it. ]
I mean, not that I'm judging. But you gotta rivalry with a little kid.
