I’ll take my throne, lay it on a mountain

Who: Our volunteer mountaineers
What: Two parties split up to scale the mountain from two sides, planning to meet at it’s peak. Shenanigans occur along the way.
When: September 13th to 16th
Where: Group 1: G3, H2, G2 || Group 2: F3, F2, G2

Word spreads quickly in a small community such as this. What was originally intended to be a small party turned into something much larger- and on the day Chara planned to leave for the mountain, it’s not one, but two parties that make off for it’s peak.

Group 1, led by Chara, moves off during the early hours of the morning, seeking to search the furthest part of the mountain by following the river upwards. The path is longer and more winding- however, they are unhampered in when they can travel.

Group 2, led by Ardyn, takes off after the sun has set- due to the needs of multiple members to avoid the sun’s harsh glare. Their route takes them up the closest side of the mountain, which provides an easier path- however, they may only travel whilst the sun is set.

[Muffet internally sighs, but doesn't say anything, merely walking calmly up to where the child stands. She doubts that she's going to convince them not to take risks, but at least she can be there to catch them if they keel over.]

Nothing past jungle and ocean. [The response is slightly terse- but given the heat, perhaps that's understandable. Despite the commentary, their eyes sweep the areas closest to them, rather than veering off to the horizon.] And little else for miles.

One would think we're the only living things on this island.

[She doesn't begrudge them their irritation- it hasn't exactly been an easy journey thus far.]

Yes, I suppose some sort of clearly visible sign offering complete answers would have been a bit much to hope for.

Still, at least we've got a better idea of the island's shape and size, now.

[Which was the point of the expedition in the first place, really. But that had been before so many had taken interest; now, they'd really prefer to have some reward for dealing with a group of people.]

A shame that none of us have a camera.

At this point, even some decent paper and a proper writing implement would be an improvement- I don't think anyone's come up with anything more advanced than ashes or berry juice to draw a map with, yet...

I'm sure the Storyteller would be willing to exchange such items in return for a story; right now, however, we'll make do.

[Which translates to, roughly; 'waste your stories on paper and pens all you want, cause I ain't']

Oh, I've no doubt they could provide us with quite a bit, but I'd hate to overtax them for a resource we might be able to figure out on our own.

[Translation: I'm hoarding Storyteller favors the same way I hoard coins back home, and if that means I have to spend the next year writing with tigershark blood until someone can reinvent the ballpoint pen, so be it.]

Quite. It would be unfortunate if everything they supplied us was broken, due to our insistence on obtaining every little thing.

[...Ah, but it is hot. They push a hand through their hair, just to get their fringe away from their forehead.]

I suppose we should be moving on, soon.

Hopefully they'll let us know if we're burning through more credit than we've built up- difficult to do business, otherwise.

[She notices their discomfort, but decides not to embarrass them by mentioning it directly.]

Likely it will take a little while for everybody to collect themselves and be ready to travel again, but yes. It is lucky we found somewhere near a water source to stop, at least. An excellent opportunity to resupply.

I'm certain they wouldn't allow us to gain more than we have earned.

[At the mention of said water source, their eyes stray to the river...then to where Frisk has taken shelter in the shade.]
