April Aftermath: Young Volcanoes
APRIL AFTERMATH: YOUNG VOLCANOES
Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: You aren't quite acting your age...
When: April 15th - April 30th
Where: Everywhere!

We Are Anti-Venom
Come the morning of April 15th, the eruption of Mount Tharama has largely died down. The caves set into Mount Alysum can be safely accessed, and anyone remaining inside dug free...if the ceiling hasn't caved down over them by now, that is.
Aside from whatever bones you might still have to pick with the Roaka, it seems that everything has gone back to normal...hasn't it?
Up until the point where the newly reborn Roaka break free from the blackened husks of their past selves, that is, much the way a baby phoenix would. The rolling clouds of ash that have darkened the skies for the past few days, characteristic of any volcanic eruption, then proceed to obtain some very, very unexpected new qualities...and its effects on the rest of you will soon be felt in earnest.
Perhaps you'll wake up younger one day, with an adult's mind and memories. Perhaps you'll wake up older, far older, than you were when you last fell asleep. Whatever the combination of age and memory and ability that inhabits you, it can potentially persist all the way up until April 30th, and can change at virtually any time.
You'd better hope that you're eloquent enough to be of use come the next Storytelling. There's no telling if Mu will interpret your shifts in age as relevant to your dreaming mind or not. (Which means, in short, that's up to you.)
If you attempt to seek answers with the Roaka, this is the one topic with which they can be of even less help than usual. This phenomenon is completely new and different to them; you and your plethoras of strange species, which they have now finally registered as sufficiently different in makeup to their own, must react to things...very differently than they.

Starflight | OTA | Will match format
Starflight was fascinated. Whatever was causing this seemed to affect not only scavengers, but dragons as well, a phenomenon he had never read or heard of before. It was certainly worth studying. Perhaps even publishing a paper about! Though considering there was hardly the infrastructure for such an endeavor, he would have to settle with writing something for the library. The changes were less drastic in the scavengers, or so it appeared from his perspective, but it was still worth documenting.
There was, however, one major obstacle hindering his progress and that was the frustrating reality that everything here was too small. It had been enough of an inconvenience when he was a child, now it was simply absurd.
He would have to depend on the other islanders to assist him, and so he was lying in wait for someone to return to the islets, half of his body in the ocean. Finally spotting someone, he surged to his feet, causing a small wave.
“Excuse me! You there! Can I get your assistance for a short moment?”
B. The Library - Evening [child - tiny dragon with hoard of books]
He was lost. He somehow finally got out of the cave and he was lost. How come he was the only one who made it out? Where were his friends? Why hadn’t Kestrel or Dune or Webs found him yet? Where was he?
The forest had been terrifying, so Starflight had scrambled into the first building he found. He’s never seen the type of scrolls here, but even he could tell a library when he saw one. A Real Library!! He HAD to be dreaming.
Despite being the size of a large dog, he had managed to squeeze himself under the one desk in the room, hiding in what shadow he could find and hoping his dark scales would make him harder to see. He was also good at hide and seek when his friends played it. But that was in a dark cave.
Starflight had stolen the maps from the desk and was poring over them studiously, his tongue sticking out as he concentrated. Dune had taught them how to read maps, he could figure this out. He had to!
So long as no one found him, he could do this. Right?
C. Wildcard
[ Post something here or hit me up for some plotting. Regular Starflight is also available. ]
B
She crouches down under the desk and abruptly yells "Hi! Are you hiding?!"
no subject
This was all a little much for him and his head was still ringing and he bit his tongue and it hurt, so rather than say anything he just stares. In silence.
no subject
"O-oh! I'm so sorry!" she says, in a quieter voice. "Are you OK? I can, um, heal you! With my magic. If that's OK?"
no subject
"You can't just heal someone. You would have to be an animus dragon, and you're not a dragon, and animus are really, really rare. There's hardly been any all of history. Plus you would have to enchant something first, cause magic doesn't work on living creatures."
He may be a hatchling, but even he knew how magic was supposed to work.
no subject
To demonstrate, she lifts her paw, and a light, flickering green glow forms around it. "I've been taught lots about healing magic. Let me heal you!"
no subject
With no where else to hide, he jumped into the air, hovering awkwardly in the middle of the room. It wasn't easy, he wasn't a very good flier and there wasn't a lot of room, but he planned on staying up there as long as he could.

They stare for a moment, before their headflaps ripple.)
Nature of assistance required?
no subject
[ Starflight crouched down to see him better. ]
I was hoping to make a record of the effects of this occurrence, for posterity and research purposes, but have run into a few problems. Namely- [ he paused, his tail lashing behind him in irritation and sweeping across the sand.] That all the writing tools on this island are not sized for dragons. I had collected one of the notebooks from the library supply for the purpose of note taking earlier, but it is inside the cottage where I have been storing my things.
I was hoping you would be able to get inside and get it for me and perhaps, if it is not too inconvenient, take a moment to answer a few questions and write them down. For example, how it may have been affecting you.
no subject
We will assist.
(More data is always a priority, particularly now.)
b
But then... then he goes into the library and there's something big and dark and dangerous-looking hunched over maps on the floor and Yukio freezes, a startled little yelp catching in his throat as he stares at the...
the dragon? Is it really a dragon?]
no subject
He started to put his map down to move closer, but abruptly changed his mind. It could still be dangerous. After all, it was a scavenger that had killed Queen Oasis and started the war. ]
Y- you don't have to be scared.
[ He was trying to sound reassuring, like how Sunny sounded whenever she was talking to the lizards she caught in the cave and played with sometimes, but it mostly just sounded nervous. ]
no subject
You can talk... [He's seen demons before, and at eight years old he knows what they are and he's already starting to learn how to fight them. But a demon that looks like a dragon and sounds as nervous as Yukio feels is not something he's really prepared to deal with.]
no subject
I didn't know scavengers can talk!! How come you can talk?! Did someone teach you?
[ This was a major discovery! Wait till he told his friends! The borrowed maps lay on the floor, abandoned. ]
Do you have a name?
no subject
He's trying to be brave, he's getting better at it, but there have been a lot of things going on and it's kind of overwhelming.]
I'm not a... a scavenger, I'm Yukio.
no subject
Are you sure? You look like a scavenger. What's your name from? Did a dragon give it to you?
[ If so, Starflight wanted to know more about the dragon who was able to teach a scavenger to talk. He had so many questions. ]
no subject
My dad gave it to me! What's your name? Did a scavenger give it to you? [That question might be a little bit mean.]
no subject
[ Starflight looked a little disappointed. Though that did complicate the mystery. He couldn't help but snort at how ridiculous Yukio's question was, though. ]
My name is Starflight. My guardians named me and my friends.
no subject
no subject
[ Starflight hunched back, his tail curling tight around himself protectively. ]
There should be. But I don't know where they are. I couldn't find Kestrel, Dune, or Webs, or any of my friends. I was just with them and now they're gone.
no subject
I can't find my big brother, or my dad. [He confesses, quietly.]
