i'm looking for an easy thing [ OPEN MINGLE ]
Who: Anyone and everyone! Who wants to look at books?
What: BOOKVALANCHE
When: Let's say from the 25th and onward for simplicity
Where: The Storyteller's Temple, in addition to the library that's finally getting some much-needed attention
Warnings: Mark anything that comes up!
The library is finally getting some renovations! Between some new bookshelves (hope someone here is good at hauling) and a veritable cascade of all sorts of books and supplies, an awful lot needs to be transferred from the Temple to the heretofore unused library, and any help anyone has to offer is much appreciated!
But, of course, there's also so very much to go through for your own perusal. Just look at all this! Coloring books, puzzle books, stories of all sorts, comic books, fashion magazines, all sorts of survival texts...you name it.
This all needs to be put away and stored in those neat little waterproofing book protectors - shelves need to be moved, supplies need to be secured, and someone should probably take inventory. But also...there's a lot of fresh new reading material on an island that previously had none.
Isn't that worth looking over?

[so, it was a fucking while ago]
But we still had to recover many arts that were lost.

(Their headflaps ripple, and they chatter.)
You were present for this?
(Their headflaps lift.)

no subject
(This is similar to some species in their galaxy.)
Do you recall knowledge from that era?
(Crafting and survival and stuff.)

[It was also maybe not really considered appropriate, but he's far too polite to ever imply such a thing. Certainly, it probably would have been more useful than what he ended up doing with the crown.]
Personally, I was most involved in learning how to grow food with the limited sunlight we had.

(They consider speaking of their own farming experience, but do not.)

[Goodness, what had they needed to do back then...]
We do not need weavers as much, with the clothing pile, though I suppose it would be nice if there were a tailor. The carpentry shop should come in handy!

(They chatter.)
There are supplies available at the "store", but they are limited. It would be advisable to prioritize crafting that which is not available.

[Stone would be sturdy, which seems to be, uh, good for buildings that are constantly under threat.]
no subject
(They look down at the floor for a moment.)
no subject
[He hadn't known that. Asgore looks away for a moment, too.]
no subject
(It would not surprise them.)
no subject
[That's not the word Asgore would've chosen, but like sure]

A common response to such news is apology: we are sorry.
(What they should be sorry for is how bad they are at this.)

(They allow themselves a moment of sadness.
Then:)
This topic is not relevant to our current task.
(It is distracting.)

[They did get a little off-track.]
An apothecary would be nice to have. Several of us can use magical healing, but it would be good to keep medicines on hand as well.

(Their headflaps shift, and they chatter.)
Faust-Doctor has been interested in the acquisition of medically useful flora.

[It was more of a curiosity than a real application in his day, and then afterwards there were rarely any humans at all.]
no subject
(Right now, the level of knowledge appears to be none.)
no subject
[None of his knowledge is likely to be life-saving, but you know, if we ever have a common cold event?]
no subject
(That's the most important bit.)
