In the meantime, feel free to use this log as a catch-all for your efforts to paint the town; whether you do it in teams or solo, or if you're just going to be a curmudgeon who ends up getting doused with neon glitter through no fault of your own.

...let us know if your character, for any reason, happens to die during this event. Hopefully this won't be necessary, unless someone here is fatally allergic to ink. Hence, death penalties will not be reduced, because anyone who perishes from a simple inking probably has it coming.

Event Timeline

[ ♆ ] February 18th: The mana pools gain a function that allows them to double as pools of ink, facilitating their use in painting the island over.
[ ♆ ] February 20th: The monthly Storytelling occurs.
[ ♆ ] February 23rd: The mana pools lose their inkpot function, leaving behind only whatever ink you might have saved.

[And he was blushy, losing a bit of his triumphant pose when Molly started teasing. Instead, he immediately got smaller, awkwardly defensive as he tried to explain himself.]

Ah, I didn't mean anything like, X-rated.

[But he wasn't upset so much as jittery, reeling in the falter in his voice and pushing back with some false bravado.]

Everyone knows you have to aim for the weak point.

[ Molly, cackles, because he's an asshole and Prompto was so easy to embarrass. Still, he has to admit the blonde got him good. ]

Alright, I have to agree with that. I'm guessing you're having fun?

Dude, I was born for this.

[He raised the gun to indicate it, but didn't shoot. Because he'd already gotten Molly, he didn't need to splat him in the face or something. He was grinning like an idiot, but after a second something else came to mind and he started looking around. Making sure no one else was there or in earshot, before trotting closer to Molly to keep things more private.]

Hey... Can I ask you a question?

[ He'd be very upset if you hit him in the face, Prom... and he could make some horribly naughty jokes about ti, too, so it's probably good that he's ink-free.

The change in demeanor is interesting, however, and Molly raises a brow as Prompto comes closer. ]

You can ask me anything, just don't think I have all the answers.

[He let out a soft laugh, considering he knew what the question was.]

I think you'll know this one. Umm... [Didn't make him less nervous about asking, though.] Have you ever kissed a girl?

Oh, darling.

[ That's just adorable. ]

Girls, boys, both, neither. What do you want to know?

Guess that answers my next question. So, uh... [He bit his lip, but best just to spit it out.] Is kissing a girl like kissing a boy?

[ Oh shit, is he going to be baby's first gay teacher? ]

There's no difference in kissing, my friend. Lips are lips. Species might be a lot more different than gender.

Really? So it's a lot alike?

[He at least appreciated that he just answered the question. There was much to think about. He put a hand to his mouth, pondering.]

[ There's a smile, and little gentler and less teasing. ]

I-I've kissed before!

[Once. Sort of. As obvious as it probably was, he didn't want people to know he was inexperienced.]

Sure. A girl, I'm assuming, or you wouldn't have asked.

[ Molly moves closer, uncomfortably so since he's a dick. ]

Well. Show me.

[He turned redder and redder, stiffening up.]

A-ah...

[Okay, now he kind of had to explain because it wasn't a girl.] Umm... It was Gladio. Pretty sure he was drunk.

[And he'd made moves on Prompto a few times, so he didn't think it was only because he was drunk, but that did seem in to factoring how it actually ended up happening.

Though it wasn't quite as bad since Molly was a guy, it was still hard for him to imagine getting, well, anywhere. There had generally been a firm yard distance between himself and any action throughout life, and he suffered paralysis if it got any closer. And here he was, trying to carry on a casual conversation when things were getting really, really close, and his pitch was getting high in anticipation.] He has a bunch of facial hair, so probably not like a girl.

[ Oh. He wasn't the gay teacher, he was the straight one? Or just... something.

Now that is a gorgeous man! I don't give the best advice, but yes, get that.

[ He laughs again. ]

...and there are women with facial hair, you know.

Er, well, yeah, I mean, I know he's muscular and all that. Girls like him a lot. But he's with Iggy, I wouldn't want to mess things up.

[He relaxed a little bit, folding his arms and leaning heavily on one foot. Molly was still rather close, but he wasn't going to move away. He was just going to stand there. And act casual.]

There are? I've never seen any. ...Well, I mean, maybe different species and stuff. I want someone humanoid.

[ Eh, he's not going to get into the thing about gender with this poor guy. That was too much of a hassle and Molly's too lazy for that. ]

Hm. If he goes kissing you while drunk even if he's with someone, that sounds complicated.

[ Not that Molly was a 'relationships' guy, but it sounded kind of shitty. Then again? ]

Maybe he wants to be with you both?

[He buried a hand in his hair, glancing down.]

Ah, yeah. He kinda asked about that. But I didn't want to be in that kind of relationship. I was already surprised that he and Iggy were gonna get together to begin with. We traveled all over before and I had no idea.

He said that everyone would be okay with it, but I dunno. Relationships are already complex. You never know if someone would be hurt and wouldn't say anything, and I don't really want to be a third wheel anyway.

If you guys don't have good communication, I wouldn't recommend it.

[ Maybe for a fun threesome, but not for feelings. ]

Sounds like you're a smart guy, my friend. Still stings, I'm sure... but what about this question of yours? Where does kissing girls come in?

[ He's fishing for details and he has no shame. ]

Just curious, I guess. I mean, Iggy was saying that there's girls who are into it when guys are, like, affectionate, 'n I guess technically Gladio's the only one I've ever kissed...

[There must be something really interesting in the ocean, because he was looking over there now, shifting on his feet.]

Most people like a pretty and affectionate man! Sounds like you should go out there and find someone to have fun with? Try out some things and see what you like.

[ He shrugs. ]

Not everything has to be your big true love, have some fun while looking for it.

Yeah, that's true.

[While he did want a girlfriend, it wasn't as if he could never experiment with anything else. His biggest worry with Gladio and Ignis had been messing up their relationship - not to mention he wasn't really sure he felt that way about them.

He cleared his throat softly and glanced back.]

So, uh, maybe this is a little weird, but, could I try something?

[devilstongue]

I think we've established that I'm down for weird shit.

[ Weird things were usually fun, after all. ]

Okay.

[Had to gather up that courage, especially since he had no idea what he was doing. He didn't actually make a move for several seconds, staring at Molly rather sheepishly before taking a step forward.

Except he really, really didn't know what he was doing. Where should he put his hands? He wasn't sure. So he lifted them up like he was going to put them on Molly's shoulders, but then he back off a bit because he wasn't positive he should put them there. What did it look like in the movies? He'd never paid quite enough attention.

But then it'd be weird if they were hanging limp while he tried to do this. Finally, he squeezed his eyes shut, placed his hands lightly on Molly's shoulders, and leaned in. Hopefully he got his lips, because like hell was he opening his eyes during this.]

[ Oh. Well. Okay.

Not too unexpected, but Prompto did at least finally do it after standing there so awkwardly, lifting his hands and hesitating. He really wasn't very used to this, Molly could tell, and it was... not bad, but clumsy and new.

He had been just as awkward not too long ago, but he'd been a fast learner. So here Molly is, leaning in closer to cup the blonde's chin and running his other one in his hair, tilting their heads just a bit to avoid nose bumping and then pressing his lips lightly against those nervous ones. ]

Follow my lead. This isn't as complicated as you think.

[He jumped slightly in surprise when Molly touched him, somehow not quite ready for it despite the fact he should have expected it. He allowed himself to be guided, though, especially since he still wasn't looking and was bracing himself for impact.

He could at least stay in the position that Molly guided him into, trembling a bit when he finally felt the warmth of Molly's lips touch his. He didn't know how far to take that. Some people got into tongues and stuff, but he wasn't about to jump into that. Instead, he pressed in slightly, holding it for a couple seconds before letting himself lean back.

He almost still didn't want to open his eyes. That would mean looking at someone, and being a naturally shy boy it would be hard to meet someone's gaze right now. But. He couldn't just stand there with his eyes closed. He peeked one open first like he was checking that it was okay, then forced himself to open both.]

Umm... Was that, okay?

[Confidence issues showing out the wazoo here. He'd always been afraid of rejection.]
